WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (thereforeacknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going.

19 points 1383 calories 33 APs
Will be off-plan today. We have a soccer game an hour and 15 minutes away tonight, we’ll probably eat out beforehand. I found a new Yasso frozen yogurt bar flavor—pumpkin cheesecake. Totally worth the 5 points! It has graham cracker crumbs mixed in, and great pumpkin flavor. I think they have a gingerbread flavor too.
Kathy, have the best time with your daughter and friends! Funny, as I read your post about chickens, I was eating hard boiled eggs from our chickens. We’re now getting 7-8 eggs a day. Is there anyone locally you can buy fresh eggs from?
Nancy, it’s not so much a matter of saying no to things. I guess I’m feeling taken for granted, on multiple fronts. Home, work, friends.....Case in point: I woke up early Friday morning and checked the time on my phone. There was a text from a client/friend that was sent around 1:30. We had a scheduled appointment at 7:30, which was actually a reschedule from Wednesday. She said she was having trouble sleeping; before I leave in the morning, could I text her to see if she’s up? If she doesn’t respond, don’t come as she obviously finally fell asleep. Are you kidding me??! How about you keep your alarm set and get up? Or cancel? She expected me to get up early, get ready, and then stay home if she was asleep. I texted back that I’d see her on Monday. First world problem, I completely understand that. It’s no less annoying though, especially after a week of dealing with issues like that.
Lori and Nancy, have a wonderful time today!

Jan - My point exactly. It was your way of just saying no (with a little FU mixed in <g>). Fabulous stats! How I wish you were with us today. If you do plan a trip at some point, let us know and we'll arrange to get together. It's easy for me (and probably Lori) to get to the city if that's the most convenient place for you.

C40. D3. OP. Tracking. Planning. Some exercise. Yesterday was vigorous house cleaning. Duck hunting started, so not sure I will get in a walk.
Nancy - great job on incorporating steps. What are you listening to on Audible? I just finished all the Harry Potter books - a nice distracting mind candy :-) Now I'm listening to Lord if the Rings, but am not enjoying it as much.
Jan - that is awful about the client. Really inconsiderate and privileged. Yuck. Hope you find a way to recharge that doesn't depend on others.
Lori - hope you are enjoying some deck time! We had a bonfire under amazing stars and the Milky Way last night. Warm, breeze, no mosquitoes - perfect. Woke up to thunder and gun shots out my window, which has its own comfort in a way.
Hi to Louise and all who follow.
Kathy

A delightful afternoon with Lori as always. She looks fabulous. I had a skinnilicious chicken pot pie that was really good. She got stuck in some traffic, so I got in 3000 steps while waiting. Then we got in another 4000 together. She brought me two muffins that were absolutely delicious, much better than the banana muffins. I'm waiting for the recipe.
Kathy - Right now I'm listening to The Sound of Gravel by Ruth Wariner, narrated by the author. It's about a Mormon family - very good so far. I think Jan recommended it.
