Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend still least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
Dottie - welcome home! I’m glad you had a wonderful trip. I’ve never been to Italy but DB and DSIL have and I’ve seen pictures.
Ruth - that rash sounds nasty. Hope you find some relief soon.
Heading to work soon. Hopefully the day goes by quickly. I still have running around to do. I want to get one more bin for the bathroom. I think the bins will work well. I got rid of a lot of old stuff and put more things in their place.

Good morning ladies!!! I was going to complain about not sleeping well, but sounds like a broken record. We all have those nights! Such is life!
I heard from DH and his 5K went well. He was happy with his time and there was just a little drizzle off and on. He said enough to cool you down but not enough to be a real issue! He was waiting for the bus to take him back to the car when he texted me. I’d guess he should be home in the next 20-30 minutes. He just called and he’s on his way!
No big plans today, other than maybe a nap. I still am working on all the clothes laying on that bed. I’m just overwhelmed and don’t know what to do with them all. And most of it I can’t even wear right now = too small! 😢😢😢. But I am working on it, but I clearly have WAY TOO MUCH!!!! Going to get picky about what I keep and donate or sale a lot of it!!! No sense in having that many clothes!!!!! And I just scheduled a charity pickup for next Friday. I found someplace that takes books also, and we still have a double bookshelf full of books. I could try to sell some of them but not sure if it’s worth the time and effort. I just want them gone. And I have a big box of CD’s to deal with. They only sell for about $1 each at garage sales or less from Half Priced Books. I may keep them because I enjoy mine and when we get the new flooring down in the family room downstairs, and the furniture organized, and the bookshelves and desk in place, they may go on a shelf next to the combo cd/cassette player because it has nice speakers. Then I can sit down there and listen to music when Stan has the tv on to something I don’t care to watch. I want to make that room liveable and enjoyable to be in. So does Stan which helps.
The rash doesn’t look much better. Some of it is from scratching (not done knowingly), so I hope the Prednisone prescription helps. Took some last night and 2nd dose this morning. Hope it kicks in soon. Only got 3 days worth because she says that inhibits the antibiotic from working to it’s full extent. Something I didn’t know happened.
Joy, have a great day at work and with your organizing. I bought plastic bins to use on the shelves in our closet. I have a bunch of things that we only use in Hawaii (cloth grocery bags I bought there - they don’t use plastic bags), a couple other small insulated bags, etc. that I might as well have on a shelf, all together, and clearly marked. Need to find my label maker and get busy. I have the stuff mostly back upstairs, in a basket in our bedroom. Now to the closet!!!
Dottie, have fun with family pictures. Hope we can see some of the proofs when you get them back.
More later! Hockey tonight. I’ll be the one knitting watching!!

Absolutely slow, boring day at work. Must be because it’s a beautiful last weekend of summer. It hit 85, but low humidity and a slight breeze. We aren’t going to get many more of these days.
Went for ice cream smoothie after work, that’s my dinner lol. It’s basically apple cider slush blended with vanilla ice cream. Yummy.
My small food chopper bit the dust, so I’m going to buy an 8 cup food processor to take its place. They have a Black and Decker one at Target for $30. It has good reviews, and can probably pulse better than the smaller one. I found a nice soup recipe that I plan on making during tomorrow’s game. Will shop for veggies tomorrow morning.
Enjoy your evening.

Joyce, sorry to hear about your boring day at work. The weather was beautiful here also. I have an old food processor, I don’t use it often but really like it when I need to do a lot of chopping. You are doing a great job with your organizing.
Ruth, hope the prednisone helps your rash. It sounds nasty, hope it isn’t spreading. We donate all of our books and CDs to our library and there is a group of volunteers who hold a book sale twice a year and then the money is used for the library. Today when getting ready I looked in my closet and decided I have way too many clothes also. I have at least 4 blazers that I haven’t worn since I retired, plus several blouses that I haven’t used lately. I really need to get a bag ready to donate to our thrift store.
The photo shoot seemed to go OK. The color was maroon/purple top and dark or tan bottoms. The kids weren’t too into it at first but then weren’t so self-conscious about the photographer. We should have the proofs in about 2 weeks, hope there are some good ones. I didn’t have a chance to go back and read and just got home (almost 8 o’clock), so heading to bed shortly. I’m still messed up with time, got up at 5 this morning because I couldn’t sleep. Hopefully I’ll sleep a little later tomorrow.

Good Sunday morning. Welcome back Dottie. So nice to have you posting again. Sounds like a good photo shoot. Hope you can get your sleep schedule back on track. DH was REALLY restless last night and kept me awake too. He was up and down and up and down. I’m beginning to understand why some couples have separate bedrooms. And I still hate these beds he insisted we buy. But we are stuck with them, so we make the best of it.
Looks like a nice weather day today. Cooling off and hopefully the humidity will go down too. It the sun is shining and that help.
We are picking up younger DD’s 2 dogs between 12-1 pm since the boarding kennel only has a 1 hr pickup on Sunday and they won’t be back in time. And with 2 dogs it’s another $50!! They are up in Duluth at a Raptor event for Harper’s birthday present. She wanted to do something like this rather than have a big party. DD said it’s probably more $$ than the party but the entire family enjoys a whole weekend rather than just Harper enjoying a 2 hr party. Made sense to us. And Harper got to release a newly banded bird yesterday. Pictures are great!!!
We are picking up Mara around dinnertime to avoid the morning barfs. Easier on all of us. We really want to go see the Downton Abbey movie, but with the way things are spread out today it’s not going to happen. Hopefully one day this week. We still have a movie theatre gift card from last year’s anniversary party gifts that we plan to use.
Got on the scale this morning and I’m down 1lb. from last Sunday morning’s WI. I’ll take it considering I had fried rice, a cupcake, a small bowl of ice cream at Harper’s birthday dinner. And then we ate out (totally not WW friendly) Friday evening after the packet pick up for the 5K. We are not going to WW meeting this morning because we are going back to our Saturday morning meetings. We just prefer the location and the group dynamics. It’s HOME!! So hopefully I can continue to have a good week and show an even better loss next Saturday.
Ok, need to get dressed and get a few things finished up. Want to run the vacuum cleaner. Our cleaning gal informed me she won’t be here until the end of October now due to closing on their house, getting packed and moving, then on top of getting settled in the new house, they have to clean the condo they are leaving. Little does she know it gives me a chance to try out someone else and see how that goes. Now to figure out who to contact.
Have a good day. I’ll try to check in later on.

Ruth, Harper’s birthday event sounds like a nice family time. My niece’s daughter (just turned 12) and wanted the family to go to the space camp in Huntsville, AL. It turned out just my niece’s daughter and her dad went and they had a great time and learned a lot. My niece’s son has ADHD and both her and her husband knew that he (the son) would not be able to be at a space camp for 2 days. Hope you find a new cleaning person that does a good job. I know both you and Stan enjoyed the Saturday meetings so that is great that you will be going back to them.
Waving to Joyce.
I’m still messed up with my time, up since 5 this morning. I know I will be taking a nap this afternoon. The weather is beautiful, I want to get out in the yard and clean up some stuff. I’m up to date on L, since I did a load first thing this morning, but as we know I will be behind again by tomorrow. I did some grocery shopping and think I we are set for most of the week.

Good afternoon,
Today is the Bills home opener. Too hot and humid for football. The past 2 Sunday’s were football perfect.
Now that I’ve organized my bathroom stuff, we’ll see how it works longterm.
I’ll make a quick trip to the grocery store this evening. Need to pickup some bags of salad mix. Too hot for the soup I planned on making today.
Nothing else going on. See ya tomorrow.
