This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Good Morning Everyone...up early and made it to church...nothing planned for the rest of the day except Hand & Foot card game tonight at the clubhouse...may check on times for Downton Abbey - YDD saw it yesterday and said it was "very gratifying" - interesting choice of words, no? DH and I also pooled our airline points (not many) with hers (a lot) and she scheduled a round trip flight for me to visit her for a weekend in October when DH has plans- yippee!

Hi Everyone, Got to the gym this morning for a bit. Debating still about going back to the library to work on the portfolio part. I am leaning towards not since I still have some time left and have a lot of the sections done. I dont want to wait until the last minute of course but I have the whole month of October. Susie, that's great about the airplane ticket to see your daughter. Btw, did your daughter finally get to her destination? I remember you said she called and was very upset about her plans with the hotel reservation being cancelled, etc. Going food shopping soon so I guess I need to get moving I guess. After,I plan to sit down to start reading a new book by an author of some other books I've read recently. Btw, I finished The Tatooist of Auschwitz. I didnt cry tho. I thought that the other book I read before was more emotional for me than this book. Last night was okay. I am glad that I asked for a seperate check although I gave a few dollars towards the meal for my friend's brother. Her friend came in late and started some trouble over the tip even tho he hadnt even participated in the meal. Very annoying. I didnt like him that much to begin with but I even like him less now. Have a great day!

Good afternoon ROs. Yay for a trip to Boston, Susie!!! And a free one is the best. Janet, sorry for the restaurant issue.Sometimes people just want to make trouble. I don't understand it but I sympathize with your irritation. Hopefully you won't have to see that person again.
I'm back from yoga and grocery shopping. Have to get to the health food store for some miso - I'm making an eggplant recipe which uses it and it sounds interesting. It's really hot here, am glad I canceled the hike although sad I didn't get to do it.
Have some cooking to do this afternoon and will try to connect with DSister. We haven't spoken in awhile.
Have a great Sunday, all.

DH and I saw Downton Abbey and really enjoyed it...wrapped up some story lines, and LOVED Granny's one liners - lol! So now I have an hour to rest before I have to get to the clubhouse.
Janet - good for you in getting to the gym even for a little bit. I missed yesterday, today, and I will miss tomorrow...maybe I will squeeze in the PT exercises I am supposed to be doing for my knee before I head up to the clubhouse. Oh, and yes DD did finally get home and is getting to rest a little this weekend...next weekend she is off to Chicago...always on the go.
Andi - yeah for getting to yoga...you and Janet both did better than me today. Oh, I don't know if you are a fan of Downton Abbey, but I think you would love Granny's final word of advice to Mary...

Finished the shopping and about to have dinner soon and then read as planned. I have been in the mood to have broccoli salad but dont remember the recipe and there are so many variations on it that I think pretty much I can throw in what I like. As it is just for me today only I have to like it. I see some that call for raw onions and bacon. I dont like raw onions only fried which I rarely eat.I do like bacon but wouldnt really have so much in my apartment for the most part. Maybe I will have a piece of the salmon teriyaki that I have that I had bought at Aldi's. They were okay but I dont know if I'd buy it again. I have made my own but they seem to fall apart but they taste better. I will have to look at some recipes again unless someone has a recipe they like already to share. My mom used to make them. I think she used to put in shredded carrots. I dont remember exactly what else but they were very good.

Hi everyone! Just popping in for a quick minute. We started today off on the patio again this morning with coffee and a lovely light breeze. Some laundry, a little football, a little baseball, a quick trip to Lowe's to pick up some solar powered garden lights for the front of the house and then Publix for a couple of things that I forgot Friday (of course). On the way to the stores, we had to pull the car off the road and I had to free a goat from the fence. It was one of the younger ones that was just born this summer, so smaller than the previous little buddy, but it has stuck it's head through one fence hole to the outside of the fence and then back through the hole beside. So now his body and head were inside the fence and his neck was woven through on the outside of the fence. And good grief that little booger was strong, and scared. It was bleating and crying and fought me the whole time. I now have a pretty good size bruise on my right pointer finger where the little monster smooshed if while fighting me. Once it was free, it kicked up it's little heels, spun around and gave me a good long "Baaaaaaa" while it's little tail flicked back and forth. I took that as a "Thank you". Haha.
Anyway, not much planned her for this week at the moment. This will be the final week for my fasting challenge group. We're planning an extended fast for this week. Each person does will be doing their own time frame that works for them. Mark and I are shooting for one that starts Monday after dinner and breaks with Thursday dinner, so a 72 hour fast. It will be the longest I've ever done, so not sure I'll make it all the way. But I'm going to give it my best shot.
