โTheyโ say that mindful eating can help control eating by slowing us down so we can appreciate the food and recognize when we start to get full. Do you eat mindfully?

I would like to, I know it is more pleasant and I feel better if I do it. There is something about just eating and not paying attention and maybe doing it a little fast that makes me uneasy. It's like if I don't pay attention I will get fat again/and I'm concerned about satisfying my hunger if I eat fast without paying attention. I first slowed down my eating when I was losing weight and I noticed the slower I ate the more my hunger was satisfied.

My husband is a missionary on the mindful eating/emotional intelligence boat. I think being aware and enjoying your food is a good thing but don't usually do it. I am aware sometimes of how the plate looks and appreciate a pretty tasty plate of food and even photograph it. That said...once I have created the food and plated it and know it is within the clalorie allotment for the day I just eat...usually I eat too fast

I try for sure. That said, I almost always eat with some sort of distraction: a book, magazine or TV. I do feel that I am still very aware of my eating. I eat much more slowly than I used to: chew longer, put my utensil down between bites, and take a sip of water after each bite. I think being aware that my amount of food is limited puts my focus on it when I do get it.

I try but I eat too fast. I find that when I use the Take 3 Bites, Take a Sip, Take a Breath approach, it helps me appreciate my food more. But I often forget to do that until it's too late and my food is almost finished.

I recently tried to resume my mindful eating strategies but it's slow-going. Practice makes better though, so I'll keep working at it. When I'm dining out I find that it's easier. We're talking with friends and taking in the atmosphere. At home we usually watch tv while we're eating. DH eats very slowly. I should watch him. Maybe I'll get some tips!
Does anyone know of any simple timing apps that can help?

I just like to get reminders especially when I am distracted.
