How does being stressed relate to your eating/drinking? What do you do to relax?

Sometimes I do want to eat when I'm stressed. I'm use to soothing myself with food when the I feel the stress in my abdomen. I use to turn to bean soup, worked plus I didn't over eat on it. I don't keep anything around the house to dive into which helps. Now I do deep breathing and puzzles to relax, or think of something that needs to be done around the house and do that.

Big stress eater here. I have plenty of hobbies to relax with, but I'm not always thinking of them in the moment. Stress that makes me sad is best solved with some other type of self-care, a shower, doing my make-up or hair, resting with some TV or music. Stress that makes me angry is best solved with cleaning, it helps me feel like I'm doing something, even if I can't solve the actual problem.

Yes, I was getting stressed Monday and allowed myself a glass of wine with lunch. It didn't really help so I'm not tempted to repeat it. I am keeping up with meditating and exercising; those mostly do the trick for me. I have curbed eating in response to stress almost totally.

I used to snack when I was really stressed out, but now I try to do breathing or mediation exercises. Sometimes just turning on the TV and watching something that I can immerse myself in helps. Going to the gym is good, or doing a "walk n talk" with a friend, where I or we are walking while we talk, that way I walk a lot longer than I realize and get in some good exercise and I get a good chat session in as well.

When I feel stress I usually feel better after my workout. Aside from that I pray, talk it out in my journal, read something that takes me away from the situation for a while, see what's on the boards and participate in the threads.
