This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Good Morning and Happy Hump Day - hope you are all doing well. I have been sleeping with the window slightly open (it is right next to my bed and with the ceiling fan on low and the tiny bit of air coming in through the window, it is wonderful! I know I won't be able to do that for too long because it will be too cold, but this morning it was in the upper 50s or low 60s here (of course during the day, it is in the 80s or 90s).
I got to the gym this morning and had a great class where the instructor set up "stations" where we lifted weights for 40 seconds, then did aerobics for 40 seconds...she is pretty creative and does different things every day - sometimes step, sometimes kick boxing. She always includes some weight lifting AND aerobics - this is M-W-F and is so good for me!
Lora - I know you said before that the gym was little, but tell me more...how long does it take for you to get there? You are sooo dedicated to your eating program... I am convinced you can do anything.
RobinMD - How wonderful it was for you to have dinner with your DF - just what you needed! It is so good having you back with us...sure hope all works out with the dogs and the nasty lady.
OK... I have errands to run so I will be back later.

Good afternoon.
I've been busy today and am just now sitting down and getting a chance to check in. I slept until about 9 this morning and got up and worked on some rock painting. I'm finally getting inspired to get back to painting. I think the paint routine was really tied up with my daily routine with Lily. When she passed, it lost some of it's fun and I just really had zero motivation to continue. I think I'm finally getting that back though. After that I showered and got ready and started on the days errands. I ran by the little consignment shop in town and made arrangements to get my big dining table over there this week to try to get it sold. Then I went by the rec center and reactivated my membership for the little fitness center, ran but the DG to pick up some dish soap and lastly, stopped into the local little mom & pop grocery for some more chicken wings and pork neck bones to make another batch of bone broth. Those are in the oven getting all brown and roasted now, then I'll put them in the IP for a couple of hours.
Susie - my little fitness center is probably about 3 or 4 miles from the house. It's just on the outskirts of my teeny tiny town. Lol. Oh dang, your M-W-F class sounds terrific! I love it when instructors keep it varied and interesting.
RobinMD - so glad you got to have dinner with your old friend. Is this the same guy you were dating for a while? Wasn't there one who looked like a movie star, and that's how we referred to him? Sending all of my best wishes for the situation with your whackadoodle neighbor.
Okay, I need to go check on my bones and see how the roasting is going. It's probably about time to pull them out of the oven and get them going in the pressure cooker.

Hi Everyone, Another day finished in Paradise. I have one more day to get thru and them Friday and Monday I have a break from my usual kids. I might have to deal the extended care kids on Monday. We havent gotten next week's schedule yet so not sure but with less teachers now it means more frequently then it was originally going to be. Friday we have a professional development at another school. I will probably drive to the elevated train, park there and take the subway there. It is a few blocks to walk to the school and then back of course. Looking forward to the weekend already. Sunday night my sister's friend invited us to her house for Rosh Hashanah meal. We havent been invited there for a while because her son's family is growing. Maybe someone isnt coming. Robin, sorry about your lousy neighbor. Have a good night!

Janet - I'm sorry that you and the other teachers are having to shoulder the burden of being short on teachers. Are they expected to bring any replacements to lighten the load? I hope so. Enjoy the dinner at you sister's friends. Do you have to bring anything or is she providing everything?
Wow! I just finished straining and jarring the broth and getting it into the fridge and I think it's going to be even better than the last batch. This time I roasted everything just a little longer to get it deeper brown, added whole peppercorns to the IP and let the IP cook it a little longer. It's really rich and delicious.

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to check in and say hi....
Lora, you must be remembering "Tim McGraw"! I still see him on occasion, and we are still friends. Last night was with my first Medic instructor, and the funny thing is, I was actually involved with the other instructor, but this one had a huge crush on me back then! HA! I have remained close friends with this guy and I have treasured his friendship. Susie, I have been loving sleeping with the windows open again! I like the kind of workouts you did...it reminds me of the fire academy. We would do stations...run up and down flights of stairs, next station, do mountain climbers...next station, push ups..next station, weights...etc. It made the workouts so much more fun, and mixed up the cardio and strength training. I think it gets you in shape better. Janet, the Rosh Hashanah evening sounds great. Glad you'll have a break Friday, and a fun weekend. Guess I'd better get ready for bed. That really just means setting the coffee pot! I will be back tomorrow. I hope everyone's week is going well, and I am waving to all, RobinMD
