WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (thereforeacknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going.

28 points 1342 calories 43 APs
I got up during the night and ate two cookies, I have no idea why. Our senior game is today, with pizza and cake after. I’m not sure if I’ll have any or not, and I’m not going to stress over it. I have a few things coming up and I plan to enjoy a couple of treats. I also plan to be mindful and track the rest of each day. We’ll see how it actually plays out :-)
Nancy, so glad your eyes are done!
Lori, I wonder how the thermostat got adjusted. Very annoying, but at least you still have a freezer.
Kathy, your breakfast sounds delicious. Balance is so important so we don’t feel deprived.

On Tuesday I learned that a friend of a very good friend lost her 10 year battle with cancer. She’s probably my age. Last night another mom, younger than I am, also died. Several years ago she lost her high school son in an accident, coincidentally on my road. She was diagnosed in May of this year and was given 4 months. That’s exactly how long she lived. Heartbreaking. How much can that family endure? Life is certainly short.

C40. D10. OP. Tracking. Walk and gardening yesterday. I'm home all week!! I'll meal plan and exercise. 6 mile walk today. WI down 3#!!
Nancy - glad you are on the other side of the procedure. How are you feeling,?
Jan - such hard news about those two women. Yes - life is short. Did you wake up hungry? I went to bed kind of hungry last night and had thoughts of a bowl of cereal, but just stayed in bed. Glad you're not stressing about the food after the game.
Lori - we bought a monitor/sensor for our two in house deep freezers and are glad we did. It has a small magnetic monitor on on fridge door.
Hope everyone has a nice weekend. I'm staying on the farm this weekend and canning and freezing tomatoes. I'd like to get 100 quarts, am on my way to 60 quarts today.

Great plan with the sun dried tomatoes, Kathy! And what a nice loss this week.
No worries over food after the game. We got there, the seniors and parents walked the field, and we sat and waited for the game to start. Long story short, our athletic director never scheduled refs 🤬😡 The other team drove an hour to get to our field. He wasn’t even there to take the heat. Keep in mind, this was the same guy that I had so many issues with last year. They had a rush put on the pizza delivery, but Alex didn’t want to stand around and wait. He left, so we were right behind him. People are angry and disappointed.

Jan - So sad about your friends. It hurts especially when they are so young. We talked about my night time cookies at the meeting - a bad habit in the making. My goal this week is not snacking once teeth are brushed. Care to join me?
Kathy - Congrats on that fantabulous loss. Keep up the good work! I'm feeling just fine, thank you. My vision is crystal clear without the glasses - that's for distance. I was aware of all the tiny leaves on the trees. I got a pair of drug store glasses which seem to be working fine for the piano. My regular glasses work for reading. I look forward to getting a new prescription (progressive) in a month - but this is working for the time being. That's a lot of tomatoes <g>.
