This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Good Morning Everyone...up early so I can get ready and head to church for the Women's Retreat. I had a pretty good talk with myself yesterday, but not good enough...so today is the day...back on track...I am almost up to where I was 2 years ago...(I guess that makes me a Repeat Offender). I feel awful...belly sticking out and feeling stuffed (and all I have had is 2 cups of water). When we get like this everything goes wrong so...and I know you ladies know exactly what I am talking about.
I am off for a short walk around the block before I get ready. I hope you all have a great day and a relaxing weekend.

Good morning and happy Saturday!
I can hear the birds chirping and the sun is coming up and except for the fact that it will be too hot later, I think we're in for a nice day. We're about to head out to my little town's annual "Mile Long Yard Sale". It goes down Main street on both sides and all of the local business, private citizens, crafters and artisans participate. I hope the local lady that makes her homemade goats milk soap will be there selling, I bought some last year and it was lovely. Even the library participates with a huge book sale (which DH is looking forward to checking out).
We plan on getting there early so we can do the walk before it gets too hot. We've got football this afternoon and I'm making Smoked Sausages and Sour Kraut for dinner. Mark love kraut and we haven't had any in forever.
Susie - I'm sure you'll enjoy your Women's Retreat.
Waving to everyone else. I hope it's a good Saturday for all.

Happy Saturday, everyone,
I didn't make it here yesterday. YDD came over to take her cat to her new house...she left her here over 4 years ago, so I am happy to have that part of my house back. I had kept the cat separated in an area of the house that included a loft and two bedrooms, to limit the hair and cat-damage to the rest of the house. She is a very social girl and loves the dogs, but I just didn't want her to have access to the whole house, and the doggie door would have been an issue as well. Anyway, now I can fix up the rooms to be guest rooms, and my sewing area, and my kitchen steps are opened up again. Yippee! I am also happy that the cat will have more company (we visited her every day, and played with her), and is back with YDD and her dog.
Susie, I sure hear you, about the ups and downs of eating and gaining/losing. If there is a bright side, I think our vigilance about our weight keeps us including a lot of healthy and nutritious foods in our diets, and we try to include lots of exercise. People who don't worry about their weight don't always "worry" about their exercise and a healthy diet. It is a theory of mine, anyway.... I hope you enjoy the retreat today. We are having beautiful weather today too.
Lora, the football food and game-day sound great! The yard-sale sound like a lot of fun, too! The farm stand here by my house has goat's milk soap. I got some for my daughter and she really likes it. Maybe I should try it myself! We are having beautiful weather and a hot spell....still in the 90's! It is unusual for us.
Andi, your Friday sounded great! I think I will enjoy retirement, if and when it ever comes! I hope the rest of your weekend goes as great.
I don't know for sure what all I will get into today....I'm off today and working 8 hours tomorrow at the station. My ODD sprained her ankle REALLY bad, so I am taking a brace over to her, that I used when I had the same injury. She hasn't been able to walk on it at all, or drive. She has had some rough luck lately, with her health. I think we might get a rain shower right in the middle of the day, so I can't get into painting more of my shed, or mowing....I think I will start cleaning upstairs, and work inside. I really wanted to do something outside, since the weather is so good, but that rain is going to get in my way!
Anyway, guess I will get a move on! I slept in this morning, so I've been a little lazy starting my day, but the coffee is delicious this morning, and I just don't feel an urgent need to be busy yet! HA! I sure hope everyone is having a great start to your weekend, and I am waving to all, RobinMD

Hi Everyone, Have to get moving soon too but I have a companion on my lap at the moment. Since I was upset the day I didnt finish my plan so will be going to the library soon. Afterwards my friend and I are going to lunch at the thai restaurant we like. Knowing my friend she will probably want to go to the Giant Food Market nearby. If there is a liquor store nearby or if their price isnt prohibitive I will check and see if they have any of the kosher moscato. I know they sell liquor but for this friend of my sister it needs to be kosher. Tonight I have some laundry to do and will probably start to read a book I had picked up from the library but hadnt started it yet. Susie, hope you enjoy your retreat. Lora, hope that you and your husband enjoy the sale and find something you like. Robin, hope that whatever you decide to work on you get it accomplished. Glad your daughter's cat is back with your daughter now. Have a great day!

Well, we're back from the town yard sale, we did a lot of walking but ended up buying nothing. It was super warm and muggy, so I feel like I really earned my 7500 steps this morning. I may have missed the goat milk soap lady, or she wasn't there. So a little disappointed about that. I really wanted to see (and smell) her whole collection. I truly love anything lemon grass or eucalyptus scented and I know she makes those, but the couple places in town that carry her product are always out of those two. So IDK if she doesn't make those often or if they're just that wonderful that they sell out first. haha.

Good afternoon ROs. I've had a busy day so far but not a very exciting one. WW (down .2 lbs, hahaha), breakfast at Panera, trip to our wonderful fruit/veggie/local meat, fabulous fish and meat place (also excellent baked goods but I steered clear of those for once), and then a trip to the regular supermarket. I've got everything for the week, I think, going to do a lot of vegetarian meal prep this week, am kind of off meat at the moment. Had lunch and tried to nap but it wasn't happening. Going to the gym at some point and then to our local frozen yogurt place at which I swear I will be moderate. I never overdo the yogurt; it's the toppings! But I'm in a place right now where I want to be comfortable in my body and I know so well the feeling Susie expressed this morning when our eating kind of goes off the rails. It's rein it in day, again.
Susie, I know you'll get that weight off right away. It's just so frustrating to go up and down the same pounds all the time, isn't it? Enjoy your women's retreat. Is there a theme this year?
RobinMD, congrats on getting DD's kitty back to her and having your home back. Your plans for the space sound lovely. The weather here is fabulous too, 80's today, chance of rain this afternoon but for now the sky is bright blue, no clouds, and it's only a 40% chance. Tomorrow we will only top out at 70 so more like fall. DSon is unhappy with all the summer weather but I couldn't be more joyful.
Janet, enjoy the Thai food and shopping if that's what you end up doing. I know you could use some rest this weekend after your crazy week.
Lora, the street fair sounds fun but the heat and humidity are not that appealing. Sorry you couldn't get your soap - is there any way to contact that woman directly since she's local? I was able to do that a couple of years ago when I wanted to buy a dream catcher and the exhibit that was selling them had closed. Just a thought. Enjoy your football afternoon.
Someone in my WW meeting was talking this morning about buying cauli rice with the carrots and peas in and turning it into "fried rice." I bought some and will add some mushrooms and onions, soy sauce and sesame oil. He added an egg but I'm not so into that. I made some baked tofu yesterday so will have it with that.
Have a great afternoon all.

The retreat was a good thing for me...you know how you kind of feel sorry for yourself about various things and then you hear someone else's story and count your blessings? The gal next to me had a double mastectomy and something else (I forget what), the gal on the other side of me had a single mastectomy and some kind of leg infection after breaking her leg and was in the hospital for a week pretty much alone, and the gal across the table from me has, and still is going through so much (some kind of brain tumor and a couple of cancers) that it actually made me cry.... and you never know this stuff....people just put on their happy face and keep on keeping on... Lora - sorry you didn't find your soap and DH didn't find any books. I love eucalyptus and lemon grass as well as several others. I used to really like to pour water with eucalyptus oil over the coals in the sauna (at the health spa where I used to work when I was in my 20s). RobinMD - yippee for getting those rooms back! So, you have had the cat for 4 years? Sure hope ODD's ankle is OK - oh how painful. I would definitely like to get some rain...it looks a little like it now, but there is not much in the forecast. Janet - what makes a wine specifically kosher... I thought wine was mostly just grapes. I will be thinking about all who celebrate Rosh Hashanah tomorrow evening. Andi - the theme of the retreat was the 23rd PSALM...thinking about sheep, a shepherd, etc. There were several videos about sheep and I thought about "Lora's" goats! The "fried rice" made with cauliflower sounds interesting, and I use riced cauli often, but it still always tastes like cauliflower to me (even the cauli pizza crust). OK... I was going to come home from the retreat and lie down and here I am 2 hours later and I haven't done so yet. I need to read my book because we are discussing it Monday at my book club meeting? Hope to bbl...

Susie, not sure about the difference but probably the utensils needed to make it need to be kosher and usually a special rabbi is assigned to inspect it and label it as kosher. You may see small symbols on certain foods indicating it is kosher so it would be similar. I looked up to see if there were any stores nearby and it turned out that there was one right in the next shopping center and so I bought it already. Shopping afterwards took too long and I had only bought 3 items and my friend a lot. I was ready to go home already. I want to get to the gym in the morning for a bit, then the library again( ugh!) and then later to my sister's friend's for the dinner. I hope she makes brisket. While my sister's is absolutely great her friend's has improved a lot since we first had it so definitely edible but my sister's is the best. Will definitely look forward to Thanksgiving. Although I love turkey really on Thanksgiving she doesnt make it anymore. Have a great evening!
