Late start today! Better late than never, right?
affirmation - I have all the time I need health goal - practice Byron Katie 'The Work' to get me through this family conundrum fitness goal - rebound fitness report - LBWO last night was cut a little short. I added weights, and got really nauseated so I had to quit. Been practicing my planks, whoo hoo! gratitude - that I have so many positive ways to handle life stress.
I had a long talk with my sane SIL about the fam situation. We are in agreement we cannot help her until she goes into a full program. Now we need to convince my husband of the same before he starts bailing her out. I think he is going to an alanon meeting tonight with his mom. I'm keeping my fingers crossed he sees the light!
It's trying to snow here today. Little flakes just flittering around like they're lost!
I'm headed out to lunch with the cane and crutch crowd. Catching up with my mom's friends. They're all getting so old, it's sad. on a positive note, I'm looking forward to a healthy salad!

Afternoon greetings! Someone called out today so I got slammed right after getting to work. Lisa, bravo to your DH for attending Alanon. They can give him the tools to differentiate between bailing out, enablement, tough love - it is a sad and bewildering position to be in. You and your SIL are correct that individuals have to make their own decision to take the right steps. Sending prayers for you all. Daily Affirmation - Today is a good day. Fitness Report - it ended up being a rest and catch-up day. Health Goal - work hard at my last PT appointment tonight. Gratitude - loving my new planner! Who knew I was a planner geek? Pat, I'm actually jealous of your planner. Nothing like writing in a planner or on a calendar, or making a written list. I guess I just love paper and pencil!
I went to the alanon meeting. I actually was not too impressed, but was happy to go for DH and MIL. I think they need it. They really think it's mean to let her hit rock bottom. I look at it as the only way to move back up to the top. They want me to go out to dinner with her tomorrow night. Don't think I can do it.
So, this was funny. The lady running the meeting brought girls scout Thin Mints, one of my all time favorite cookies. She kept trying to push them on us. I really wanted to point out how awful it is to push sweets on a carb food-a-holic! As we discuss alcoholics! Haha! I shut my mouth and sat on my hands. Success!
