This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Good morning all. I had a lovely time last night at DSon's house, lots of people crammed into a NYC apartment. XDH did most of the cooking and he's an amazing cook, and DS was his sous chef. The kids were adorable although DGD has a cold which she gave already to XDH and I tend to get these things these days so am hoping for the best. I did really well with the food, first time ever I've come home from a holiday meal not feeling overstuffed or deprived. Yay.
Easy day ahead for me. PT at 9:30 and then lots of household chores and phone calls to do, things I generally don't have time for when I only have 2 days on the weekend. We have two warm days coming up and then the temps don't rise above the 60's, so I will enjoy this ongoing summer weather while I have it.
Susie, I love those smoked turkey legs - I never see them except at fairs so haven't had one in years. Good job with all the walking, the knees, and the food. I have to schedule my physical for December and am already worrying about my blood work and blood pressure. Resolved to take better care of myself.
Janet, I'd be so interested to hear what your family is doing in Scotland. I'm assuming some kind of service project? The brisket at my dinner was yummy too.
Have a great day all. Robin, keep us posted on the job! I'll bbl.

Good Morning Andi and ATF - on my way to PT with DH - heading over to DS’s house after he gets started to see My niece and her sweet baby boy. Rushed out of the house so am without glasses (except sunglass readers)...am counting on DBIL to fix me coffee to add to my milk mixture I threw together. Was down a little more this morning- I need to keep this trend going and stay on track when I am in Boston next weekend!
Waving to everyone- this is in the car on my cell so off for now

Hey everyone -
Sorry to not be around - I know this is a place where you can come as you are. This week I'm a little better and more interested in engaging with others.
I'm still waiting for fall to arrive. Looks like it might finally get here on Friday. The rest of the week is high 80s and low 90s. Yuck. I may go out Susie's way on Saturday to visit with some friends - still deciding. I don't want to deal with packing a bag, getting my CPAP together, etc. So I think I may drive in and back on Saturday which I know makes for a long day - but I could get there at 10 or 11 and stay til 4 or 5. We'll see - I haven't made up my mind quite yet.
I'm looking forward to catching up on what's going on with everyone. Happy Monday!

Good morning everyone!
We did end up getting out for a bit yesterday afternoon. Just a quick run into town to purchase some ingredients for another batch of bone broth that's in the IP now. This one is a combo of Ox Tail, Pork Neck Bones and a few Chicken Feet. I just got it started so it will be a while before I can officially taste test it, but I'm looking forward to trying it. I'll be around the house for most of the morning, working on the bone broth process. I'm trying to get to the fitness center this afternoon.
I checked in with Jana this morning and she added me to the private FB group that she set up for updating the family on her mom, so that I could update everyone here. So recapping: her mom is still hospitalized but stable, she's having some bouts of confusion that come and go, but was cleared for a breakfast tray this morning. Hopefully getting some food into her will help her get stronger (even if it is hospital food...ick). For anyone who might be playing "catch-up" on the situation. Jana's mom was hospitalized on 9/26 with severe swelling in her legs, weakness, and jaundice and kidney issues that are caused by the liver issues. A couple of days ago she was transferred to a hospital with a Liver Specialist on staff. Right now they're working on the diagnosis of liver cirrhosis, jaundice. Things were pretty rough, but her current health is stable and it sounds like her level of alertness and clarity is improving. Right now the targeted treatments sounds to be treating the symptoms of liver and kidney failure. As you might imagine, things are pretty hectic for Jana right now, so I'll relay updates as things change.
Amanda - Mercy girl! You are not along in waiting for fall to arrive. It's been unseasonable miserable here. Glad to see you posting.
Andi - Yay for a successful holiday/family meal. Those can be so hard to navigate, but YOU DID IT!
Susie - enjoy your day and that coffee!

Here it is after 2:00 already....DH and I stopped at Cracker Barrel on the way home from his therapy...I got one egg scrambled, one turkey sausage pattie, and ate DH's grits. I had one bite of a biscuit and had hot tea. I just had 4 strawberries and am heading to the clubhouse gym. I have book club tonight and my goal is to eat NOTHING after I get home !!!
Lora - thanks so much for the update...I was worried about Jana and family.
Amanada - good to see you ... I was worried about you too...and YES, this is definitely a place where you can come as you are...we are always here for you. Have a wonderful time on Saturday (I will be in Boston). It will make for a long day, but whatever works for you...maybe you could just take a very small bag, just in case you decide to stay. Is it possible to sleep without the CPAP for one night?
Andi - kudos to you for doing so well at the party !! Glad you had a good time.
OK...off to the gym

Hi Everyone, Just saying hi for now as I am about to go into my sister's for dinner. I really didnt bring anything. She suggested some more moscato but the kosher one is more expensive and I really need to watch my spending in the next few weeks especially due to the timing of when I get my next pay. Usually it works out to be the day of or the day before that certain bills are due. This time most of them are due the day before. Ugh! Especially one big one which is going to force me to use my credit card to pay it when I'd rather not but if I don't I will owe interest on it which I dont want either. So I didnt buy another bottle for her but it was just an optional expense and not needed for the meal. I think she will not be too mad as she knows that my money is tight. Tell Jana my thoughts are with her and her family. Take care.
