This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Hey Susie -
Waving in your direction.
Lora thanks for the update on Jana's mom. I saw a FB post Jana's sister posted but tagged her in. I appreciate you keeping us posted.
Yesterday started off okay but I'm back in a low funk. Part of me not wanting to go this weekend is also that I feel like I need to spend as much time possible applying for jobs. I know that sounds ridiculous but it's true.
I hope everyone has a good Tuesday. It's supposed to be in the 90s here today - gross.

Good morning,
I got home pretty late yesterday, so never made it here. It is quite overcast this morning, but hopefully some sun will peek through later. I just have a couple of errands to run today, and then will do some vacuuming and cleaning in the house. I am also putting in some time, applying for a couple more jobs. I'm still preparing my application for the VA job, but I'm having trouble downloading one of their required forms....I need to put it in JPEG format, or figure out how to send through one page at a time. Its THEIR form, and is required, but is 200 mb too long to fit on their site. I am not the most computer savvy, but I will keep trying to figure it out. I have until the 4th to get it in there. Andi, the dinner sounds so nice. I love getting family together and crammed into my kitchen, snacking and talking! Hope you don't catch that cold. Lora, the bone broth sounds good again. I really like ox tail soup.. I used to order it in the restaurants in Germany, and it was just a broth, often with an egg sitting in the middle of it! So good with a crusty piece of bread. Susie, I hope you get a good report at the doctor. Amanda, glad to see you coming back, when you can. We are all trying to be our best selves, and that can be different things at different times... Good luck, as always, with the job apps. It is such a frustrating process. Well, guess I'll get going. I don't want to sit here too long, and the coffee is almost finished! Have a great day everyone, and I'll bbl.

Good morning everyone!
Busy day here. I have to get out at some point to run a couple of errands and just a little picking up to do around the house. One of DHs co-workers who actually lives further out than we do (who knew?) is stopping by this evening to pick up some files from him. So I want to do a little dusting and swiffering, etc.
Jana posted in her family group last night that her mom had eaten a bit from all 3 of the meals brought to her yesterday, and it sounds like she's more alert than she had been. I believe she said they're hoping to talk to the liver specialist today and get MRI results as well as blood work results that will give them more insights.
RobinMD - what form is the VA document in now? If you can save it as a PDF, like using Adobe, that may bring the size down.
Amanda - good thoughts for a funk free weekend.
Susie - thanks for starting us off! I hope all goes good with the retina specialist and that you enjoy your lecture.

Well, the Dr said that my retina looks good, but suggested that the optometrist try drops to close my pupil more (to make me see like I am squinting) and that "may" lessen the dysphotopsia ...Hey, I am willing to try anything.
Amanda - I am so sorry that the job situation is so bad that you are willing to give up a weekend with friends. Maybe you should go ahead and go, BUT not if all you would do is stress that it would be better spent sending out applications. Surely the right opportunity will present itself soon...sure hope so!
RobinMD- hope you get the form downloaded...jeesh...how can you apply for a job if you can't get the application forms??
Lora - yeah, I have to do some dusting, etc today too since I am having my bridge group here this evening. Thanks for keeping us updated on Jana's DM.
Not feeling so great right now and my eyes are sooo dilated that I can't do too much...think I will go lie down...bbl

Hi again,
Lora, like I said, I'm not very computer savvy, but I saved the form as a pdf. So if I move it to Adobe, do you think it will be smaller? I tried to copy and paste one page at a time, but it wouldn't let me do that either. I might try filling out the form again, and save it differently. I don't know! I was able to download my resume just fine, but these government forms are required, and I don't think they will even look at me if I don't send these. Thanks for the updates on Jana. My heart sure goes out to her, and her family. She has had so much to deal with this year. Today, I took my DVR box back to the cable company, and pared down to just the basic network channels and some of the major cable ones. It cut my cable bill in half, so now my cable and telephone combined, are less than my cable bill was. I had been able to get my phone bill down to just $60, so that was huge. I really don't think I'm going to miss the DVR/Tevo, because I have Hulu and Netflix, and can watch anything I was recording. I usually didn't get to watch it for a couple of days anyway!
I would also appreciate some feedback from you guys..... I have been paying for years, for life insurance for my DDs. Well, they are now 33 and 30, and I can't afford to keep paying it. It is only about $60 a month, but I figure they could take it over now (my ODD makes more money than me)… Well, they want to cancel the policies and cash them in. Granted, neither one of them has anything to pay off, or any one in their lives who would benefit, or suffer from a lack of life insurance, and in fact my ODD is paying for life insurance through her current employer. The policies are in my name, and I'm thinking if they want to cash them in, I'm thinking I will keep a portion, and give them some of it. I feel bad about it, but neither one of them wants to take on the payments ($20 some dollars a month, each...) Do you think this is a bad thing, and I should keep paying for these policies? I really appreciate your opinions. By the way, my YDD is self employed as a massage therapist, so she doesn't have this through work.
I got some house cleaning done today, but darn! it is hot out there, so I didn't think I should try to do any painting. This is some crazy weather. My hummingbirds are still around, because they don't know what to think! HA! We did get a nice rain yesterday, and we really needed it, so I am glad for that. The dogs and I went out and sat on the patio for a while... Jana, I hope you are ok, and have a good birthday today, even though you are going through a lot.
Well, I will check back in later....I hope everyone is having a good day.

Hi Everyone, Yet another day in Paradise. Our director got stuck working in my room just about all day and with the difficult boy. She called the temp agency and told them notv to call back the lady who had been with me last week. She was very harsh with the children plus she wasnt helping me to follow the routines. What is a bit ironic is that some of the things she mentions for safe supervision practices she forgot and I had to remind her. Her expression was like why? If you are telling me not to lay down the kids near the doors for rest time why would you leave the bathroom door open especially when you know that door leads to another classroom and he could run out of that door? And he kept running out the classroom door this afternoon. I stopped at the gym tonight for a bit. Just did the recumbent bike. I had gone up a bit but it was probably due to drinking not that much before. I was down some tonight tho. Have a good night!
