WW tanks 10% after Novo Nordisk, Noom unveil weight management plan
Oct. 2, 2019 3:58 PM ET|About: WW International, Inc. (WW)|By: Carl Surran, SA News Editor WW International (WW -10%) shares have been sliding steadily lower through the day after drugmaker Novo Nordisk (NVO -1.4%) and behavior management company Noom said yesterday they were teaming up to develop programs to help people with obesity achieve and maintain weight loss.
Noom has developed a weight-loss app and a personalized meal-planning service it says already is used by 45M people worldwide that helps overweight people make behavioral changes that can help them slim down.
Novo says it has completed an eight-month pilot that combined Noom's behavior change programs with its "more than 95 years of experience in helping people living with chronic diseases."
The companies say their collaboration initially will make solutions for behavior change and education available to people with obesity in the U.S.

Noom has been out at least a year or longer so I wonder why their stock would be going down now.
I am finding calorie counting is just as beneficial or more so for me than points unless the plan is really appealing.

I don't believe in diet aids of any kind unless it's bariatric surgery in extreme cases.I would not want to get injected once a day for any amount of time. It's just like when people don't follow through with the surgeries they gain again. It took me 5-6 years to lose my weight from being morbidly obese to a normal BMI.I think obese people do need guidance in making it a lifestyle not a diet.
I think WW also could expand their plan to show people how to maintain once they have made goal and LT.People can usually lose once motivated but keeping it off for a lifetime IMO is a struggle also.I do think they need to do more than tweak their current program.

Wow I wish WW would start the new programs. I don't care for drugs to solve weight . I just signed up for a pass for the new programs.

Just say no to drugs!
Sadly, Noom’s advertising is all about losing weight. Mindy has relegated weight loss to WW’s dark, secret closet—never to be mentioned or discussed. I think Mindy has placed WW at a disadvantage.

A 10% drop is a big deal. Do we have an over/under on Mindy's stay with WW? I give her six months.
*waves again to Mindy*
