This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Hello friends,
The latest update from Jana is that the Dr.s have done all that they can do. In the next couple of days they will transition her mom home with hospice care. Her Uncle and Aunt are still there, so that is helping her out a great deal.
She has posted an update on her personal FB page, but did not include the hospice information. That was only mentioned on the private Family Update page, so if you comment on her personal page, please do not mention that part. She may have left that out intentionally, I'm not sure.

As for me, I was planning a run to the store for the weekly grocery shop. But now that's on hold until I get an update from Mark.
We woke up at 5am this morning to Mark's pillow covered in blood. We took a look and something nasty was going on with the stint in his mouth. I cleared what looked to be a giant clot, only to have another one form within an hour. He called the oral surgeon first thing and went straight there instead of work. I'm waiting to hear back now what the outcome is. He's had some similar things come out of that stint off and on, but nothing on this scale. Both things I cleared were very large and by the time he'd showered and was on his way out the door, it was already forming another. So IDK what's the deal with all that. He's with the Dr. now, so hopefully I'll know something more soon. Sigh...always something, right? But still, quite insignificant in view of what is happening in Jana's world.

Off to the airport ...I made sure I got to my gym class this morning since I will be sitting a lot, but maybe I can make myself walk around the airport since I should be pretty early.
Lora- thanks so much for the update on Jana - praying for her and her family .

Well, they went ahead and removed the device from his mouth. They also did another 3D xray and said that the cyst has shrunk a good bit but he would like for it to shrink further before they go in to do the surgery to rebuild the jaw bone and sinus. Also it seems that he has a bit of a sinus infection - not sure if it's related to the cyst issue or it could be just seasonal type stuff. Anyway he's got antibiotics, mucinexD and another Rx for hydrocodone (which he probably won't take). The novacaine is starting to wear off, so he's feeling kind of blah right now. I'll try to get some bone broth in him later, if nothing else. (I'm sure glad I was ambitious the last couple of weeks and have that ready to go).
I got my grocery run completed, so thankful that is out of the way and everything put up.
Susie - safe travels! I know you're going to have a wonderful weekend.

Lora, I am sorry to hear that Mark is having issues with that stent! Good that he is getting the sinus infection taken care of....that might have percolated in there, and really made him miserable. I'll bet that bone broth will be tasty and so good for him. Poor guy! Thank you for keeping us up to date on Jana. I did see the fb post...the whole family has had to bear so much this year.
Susie, you might not see this for a while, but I am so jealous of your trip to Boston, and I hope you have SO much fun! Take lots of pictures!
Not much to say tonight. I had a pretty good day, for a Friday in a primary care office. Tomorrow I work from 8 to 12, and then off the rest of the weekend. It is supposed to get pretty chilly tonight, so I have started bringing in some of my potted outdoor plants, and got some cuttings of my Salvia varieties to keep over the winter. Hopefully they will all root. I have had pretty good luck with them over the past couple of winters. I am not thrilled that winter is coming, but I love snowstorms, and fires in the fireplace. I dread the end of daylight savings time, though. Could we just stop doing that? Ha! Anyway, I will be back tomorrow....I hope everyone has good plans for the weekend. I am waving to all,

Oh Lora, so sorry about Mark! I hope he won't be in too much pain. If they took the device out, how will it heal now? Anyway, thinking of you both. Please give him a hug for me and best wishes for speedy healing. I know the bone broth will be just the right thing for him tonight. Also thanks for the update on Jana and her DM. I'm so glad hospice is involved - they'll keep her comfortable and it will allow her to be at home. I can imagine Jana is managing her DF as well. He must be feeling so lost.

I'm happily at home tonight, supposed to go down into the 30's! Brrr. Am going to see the movie Judy tomorrow, about Judy Garland. Got great reviews. Probably out to dinner as well. We got the report back from the investigator regarding the sexual harassment complaint. She said the allegation was unfounded although we have serious issues with this employee's boundaries and management skills. Kind of an unsatisfactory resolution of the whole thing. We'll likely reinstate him and mandate him to training on management and professional boundaries. Yuck, the whole thing. Glad that's over, or almost over. We still have to speak to our lawyer on Monday and make sure we're proceeding properly.
Nothing else to report. Not feeling so blue anymore, just tired. Looking forward to a hike on Sunday.

Hi all. I have a quiet moment tonight and thought I would check in.
Lora, thanks for keeping everyone updated for me.
I am hanging in there. We are still at the hospital for the moment and probably will be the rest of the weekend. Hospice hasn't actually come in yet but the hospital is keeping her comfortable.
