Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend still least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
Heading to work soon. I wasn’t expecting to work extra hours this week, but when I found out day cashier was going out of town I volunteered. It was okay, boss and I chatted for a bit, something we don’t do often. And I was still able to get things done that I planned.
Should be a quiet day, but the you never know. I’ll bbl.

Good afternoon all. Well we didn’t escape Mara’s stomach issues this morning. Got her up and gave her milk over an hour before we headed in town. Got to the mall and DH got her out of the car seat and she was standing on the front seat playing with the steering wheel when she got that awful look, swallowed funny, her eyes watered, and BOOM! All over the steering wheel and the floor mat (thank goodness DH had just put in the winter vinyl ones) and just a little hit the edge of the driver seat and started running backwards on it. Quickly grabbed a towel and paper towels and went to work. Poor baby! Wish we could figure out what it is. 2 hrs yesterday seems to be better.
WW meeting was good. I was down 1.2 and that’s 6.2 total!!! Happy with that since I got my head back in the game!!! No mention of any changes there yet. Apparently the changes have been made in Australia or wherever and that’s always first.
Still raining here. Getting really tired of it. I want to get out and walk but not in the rain! Guess I could walk with an umbrella but doesn’t sound like fun!!!
Tomorrow while we are off watching DD & DIL run the marathon the cleaner is coming. She called and asked if she could come before she gets moved (she needs the $$$) so I said yes. It needs it. We’ll see how she does when she’s moved! I need to do a lot of picking up. Need to get started.
need to throw in a load of rags and the towel that was in the car. And go out with a Q-tip to work on the controls on the steering wheel that got dampened this am!!
Will check in tonight while knitting and watching hockey!!! Hope it’s better than their opener!!!!

Joyce, I wonder how many weeks you will be working extra to cover for someone. They know they can count on you. Did work go by quickly today?
Ruth, poor Mara and your poor car. Hopefully she will outgrow the problem soon. Great job on another loss. I have seen on this site some talk about the new program, but so far it seems as if everybody is just guessing. We really need some rain so hopefully you will dry up soon and we will get some much needed rain. How did Stan make out with the hearing aids? Did he decided to order a set? Good luck to the runners tomorrow – and hopefully some nice running weather.
I went to breakfast with two of the ladies I used to work with. Always nice to visit with them. One of the ladies is still working (she is in her 50s). The husband of the other lady is in a memory care unit, she is doing better now than when I talked to her earlier this summer right after she had to place him in the unit. He has vascular dementia which also affects his heart and lungs. We decided to try to get together before I leave for Florida, hope we can. Cool weather here today, I turned on the heat just to warm up the house. Once the house warmed up it stayed nice but I’m sure the heat will run tonight.

Dottie, he did order hearing aids from Costco. Carol’s DH had done a ton of research because he had lost one of his old hearing aids and they no longer make them so he couldn’t just re-order. He had looked at some that were $6500!!! Why do they need to be that expensive? Anyway, he got a pair that are like $1800 or so and DH got the same pair except DH went with the rechargeable batteries so closer to $2700. He gets them next week then back for a recheck 2 weeks after that. He likes Costco’s policy. Longer warranty, longer return policy if you don’t like them and no deductible if you return them. Now, to just get him to wear them all the time and to give them a fair chance of working.
praying that Mara outgrows this. This time it was the steering wheel and the floor mat and a little on the driver’s seat. Thankfully we are now prepared for it and I keep a towel and paper towels in the car. We went out and did a little more cleanup once we got home. Just hoping to keep the smell down! I feel so sorry for her, but once you get her cleaned up, and this time it was just a dribble on her jacket she’s fine!!! She starts playing happily after. She wasn’t fond of getting transferred from car to car in the rain!!!
We are going to meet DS/Mara for breakfast tomorrow and then they will ride with us to go watch for DD/DIL to come by where we are. And we will hit the finish line to cheer for both also. DS was concerned about where to park, trying to wrangle Mara from wherever and then getting to the finish line to park and doing it all over again. This way we’re all together only have 1 car to mess with and we can all take turns keeping track of mara and keeping her entertained while we wait!! Then can take him & DIL to her car and back to his unless he wants to drive her home.
Making progress on getting things picked up for the cleaner tomorrow. And I have a couple special things for her. All around the stair railings (oak) up and down look like they haven’t been cleaned in way too long. So that’s her extra for tomorrow. We’ll see how it goes if she’s coming back after she moves.
more later!

Good morning. Up really early to finish up for cleaner, then get on the road to meet DS/Mara for breakfast and then go try to find DD/DIL on the marathon course. Will try to hit a couple spots and the finish line. It’s in the low 40’s so will take warm clothes for Mara too. I have a roast in the crockpot for Stan & I for dinner tonight. They just said on the news that we might see that dreaded ‘S’ word next weekend!! 😢😢😢 DD’s running gear for today has on it that she’s running in honor of my DS Carol (esophageal cancer) and her DSIL Mindi who has breast cancer that has spread. When Carol saw it she said she might cry.
I’ll check in tonight after it all quiets down. Have a great day all.

Waving to Joyce. Are the Bills playing today? Bill is set to watch the Pats at 1, although he will probably nap thru part of the game.
Ruth, hope the cleaner does a good job for you today. It sounds like she is trying to rush thru the job and not doing all that she is supposed to do. Hope it all works out with Stan and the hearing aids. You mentioned that Stan has tinnitus (?sp), I know when I was getting my first set they asked me about that because they said the hearing aids would not help with that but would help with the actual hearing loss. Hope it is a good day for the marathon for both DD and DIL. It is early for that “S’ word, hope they are wrong. Our leaves are just starting to have some color, looks like it will be a late fall, could be because of how dry it has been here.
I did a good kitchen cleaning this morning, it does make me feel good when everything looks nice, just don’t always feel like doing the work to have everything look nice. Gray day here, showers predicted for Monday and Wednesday, could really use some rain. Need to get a few bills paid so plan on doing that next, have a great day.

Hmmmm - I thought I posted this morning, must have been dreaming.
Yes, I’m watching the Bills game now. Was very happy the QB was out of concussion protocol and was able to play today.
I’ve got laundry to do this evening. Lots of long sleeve shirts, some of which I’ll put in charity bag. I still have too many tops, need to start thinning them out. I think I just have to get to the point that all of the clothes I use are in my closets and drawers, not in bins. I’ll get there someday. Work in progress ...
Nice sunny day today. Cool, not too cold. Screens open to let the fresh air in.
Probably going out for dinner tonight, I’m not in the mood to cook. I’ll make some vegetable soup to have for the week. I bought a bag of pears last week. They are getting ripe, so I’ll prob make some pear sauce with them. I really enjoy the taste of Bartlett pears.
See ya tomorrow
