This thread was started before the dawn of time by Amazons who needed to compare their stats with other Amazons. Over time it grew into a community of incredible women who try to keep their spirits in the clouds and their feet on the ground, moving toward health. Most of us start at 5'7 and go up from there, from young singles to wise and lively elders of the tribe. We welcome newcomers who are willing to be kind and share a bit of their lives.

Well, day one was as bad as I feared. Our staff is comprised of a lot of very high achieving 30-somethings. I'm constantly reminded that the concept of working your way up the ladder is gone. They want it all, now. And while we advocate for the rights of others they often seem incredibly ungrateful for the rich benefits they enjoy. OK. I'm gritting my teeth and hoping the external vs internal focus of the retreat today will leave me in a better mood. Poor MM had to listen to me rant last night.
Yes, Lynne I could really benefit from a new challenge and some group encouragement! I'm pretty stressed that summer is so close! And boat and beach will be such a big part of it. The time to act is NOW. I keep thinking of MrsKates references to the "no" muscle! That word seems to have disappeared from my vocabulary!
Oh Linda - the rooster attack much have been so scary!
I see that Colleen sold her house in an instant and is on her way to the new job!! Sure hope my old beach house sells as quickly. We have two showings this weekend. Fingers crossed.
Must get motivated. Have a great day!

Aloha Susan, and all who follow!
Sunny and cool down here in H-Town. Feels good to have the break before the heat settles in for the long run. DH and I are alone this weekend. We are going to the horse races tonight - they have ostrich races, which is really funny. They run all over the place, but then are trained to run to line up and get back in their trailer. Quite the sight.
Ah, Susan, I am sorry you are surrounded by annoying 30-somethings. Hopefully there is at least one or two in there that are a bit more tolerable.
Frieda, I leave next Wednesday for MI. Mom's surgery is Thursday morning, then Dad has an appointment with the pulmonologist that afternoon. Fortunately, all this activity is in the same complex. We still don't know if Dad will have chemo next week or not.
Martha, I chuckled at mom liking hot food hot and cold food cold. My parents are getting to be that way......
Linda, where did the rooster land? Pot? Kettle? I agree - I would have been scared when he attacked the two year old as well.
I'm afraid I don't have anything else today. Hugs to everyone!!

Susan, remind me again when the audit/craziness is over so I can come up with something for us Cats. Oh, and the 30 somethings. I can only imagine. I don't know why "they" whoever "they" really is, hasn't coined that generation Anyone born 2005-1985ish the Entitled Generation. I see it with my own kids. They want the benefits/perks of life but not willing to work for it. For example, I might buy myself nice makeup. My eldest will want me to purchase her department store makeup, as in "you buy it, why can't I have it?" or if I get myself some lululemon pants, same thing.
Mcat: enjoy the races! or should I say off to the races! Have fun this weekend.
Martha: I can understand that. I hate when the phone rings and I'm about to eat lunch. I feel bad saying I'm about to sit down for lunch, but usually I'm starving by then. So mom is in good company.
Who else is floating around today? I need to workout ASAP or it won't get done. Toodles.

Hi Ladies, waving quickly. Just spent my moments putting on a dog post for my DSis's dog, who they lost this week. Such a sweetie. I'm up good, showered, blahblah but need to rock it on some results before I do some makeup lessons this afternoon. The witchy bitter cold wind of yesterday made me miserable, headache, etc and more is to continue. I would have been packing last night if I'd had no previous plans to move. Two weeks until we drive down for a brief weekend - taking DM down to stay a bit and have a little look-see.
Trying to rein in my eating - entirely too much comfort coming from the extra piece of toast, choc, this or that. More fruit, water, ignoring.
Sorry so personal notes - thinking of each CaT in her world and wishing for the very best day. Happy weekend!

Stop in to say Hello! Hang in there Susan - lets both of us find our way back to our TM'ing!!! BEACH WEATHER IS APPROACHING. Bad Rooster, Linda. I will be in on new FitBit Challenges. Invite me. Must get on FB to see Colleen's progress! Sad news for Shari DSis puppy I have to take my own to the vet today for shots. He is SO healthy looking these days since we got him on thyroid meds. Freida - I hear ya on what kiddos think they need. My response always was, "Well, how much do you have in your checking account?" When they would hear they had to use their own $ they didn't want it usually. HaHa! My kids always had PT jobs starting with paper routes when they were about 4th graders. Boo for auditors! Yay for more spring like Wx. Happy traveling to those hopping flights. I am hoping to book my Punta Cana vaca for Jan 2018 this afternoon. Something to look forward to

My brain is Fabulously Fried.
Ended up yesterday with a headache that wouldn't go away. Felt like I was going to be sick so didn't want to eat. Took a nap but still went to bed 8:30ish. Slept until 7:15. Head still hurts but was able to eat without problems. Due to headache, today is a sloth day.
DBro has some chickens too. One was very close to being soup. (which would have not gone over well with his mainly vegetarian 14 yo.)
Frieda - Love the term "entitlement generation". Perfect description. Susan - Sorry that the "now, now, now's" are taking over. Missy - Have fun at the races. Sounds like laughter will be in good supply.
Growing up didn't have much but knew better than to ask for name brand. Babysitting was my 'part time job' until went to college. Since I wasn't the best student, probably the best.
Sending lots of comforting hugs to CATs all over. m
