WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (thereforeacknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going.

C103D3, 17 points, 852 calories + isolated Boston Market dinner, 8 water. 7955 steps
I had the prime rib dinner (I did trim any fat) + sweet potatoes and marshmallows + corn muffin. It was delicious I must say though a did follow it up with a little unnecessary snacking tonight, all accounted for in above stats.
I did annotate my spreadsheet re mindfulness. I had a mindless corn on the cob, oysterettes with pnb and a mini caramel. Everything else was either fully mindful or 70-80% mindful. I'll try again tomorrow. Also doing better with the water.

Good morning. I’ve been awake since 4 :-( Here’s hoping for a quick, easy day.
The party went really well. He was completely surprised! It was nice to see some people I haven’t seen for awhile. We planned a girls day out in a couple of weeks, so I’m taking a very rare Wednesday off. I’m looking forward to it.
District brackets are out for soccer.....we seeded the top spot!! We have a bye for the first game, so we don’t play a playoff game until Oct 19. We have one more regular season game on Thursday. It’s to make up for the missed senior game, with a different team. We’ve never played them; they’re driving an hour to our field.
Nancy, great idea to turn the toaster oven off and let the cheesecake sit. Mindful eating, I could certainly work on that too.
Lori, Kathy, and Louise, have a great week!

Weekend went well! I was out all day yesterday. When I got home, DH had the fireplace going and we both got lazy so DH suggested just getting a pizza for dinner. I ordered a pizza pie and a grilled chicken salad. Enjoy one slice of pizza and 1/2 the salad....figured it was better than having 2 slices....
Nancy, great job with the cheesecake - I copied your notes!! You are becoming quite the baker....
Jan, What an awesome year for Alex and the soccer team!! So excited for them!!
It should be a typical Monday....have a great day everyone!!

Jan - Mindful eating is difficult. Sometimes I start and finish mindfully but get sidetracked in the middle. Sometimes I totally forget. Rarely do I succeed but I'm not giving up. I'm determined to make it a habit. The spreadsheet annotations and making me more aware.
Lori - This time the cheesecake was the best ever. Not jiggly at all, and 2 rather than 3 T sweetener made no noticeable difference. The top was perfect, nicely brown in spots but not at all burnt. For me it's a perfect 3 PM snack. Pizza and chicken salad in front of the fire sounds lovely. Do you have Columbus day off?
