Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend still least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
Rainy start today. It’s supposed to clear up later this morning so I’ll hold off my walk until this afternoon.
It was a good sports weekend in Buffalo. The Sabre’s won season opener and home opener ... the Bills won and are at 4-1 going into the bye week.
I’m still switching up my closets. Bought some of those wool dryer balls and will be tossing them in the dryer with my cardigan sweaters. Put some clothes in charity bag, will take to church bin later this week.
Dottie - I did some kitchen cleaning last week. I actually took the time to shine up my toaster and tea kettle. It’s been a long time since they looked nice. My table is still clear, just my moms yellow and gold coffee pot and matching creamer and sugar bowl- nice decorative touch. It does make a difference when the kitchen looks tidy.
Went out for dinner after the Bills game. Enjoyed a turkey club sandwich, brought half home - that will be my lunch today. I’ll probably go to grocery store later for bread and milk. I’m hooked on Arnold’s Oat Nut bread, enjoy a slice with my scrambled eggs in the morning.
Enjoy your day

Joyce, glad to hear about the good sports day yesterday. I almost always bring home part of my meal when I go out to lunch or dinner. Hope you get a walk in between the raindrops. The changeover of clothes is a good time to weed out some of the ones you aren’t using.
Ruth, how are you today. How were the runners yesterday?
I’m up at DS#1 house. He had something to do early and couldn’t get the boys on their buses. I was just planning on coming up this evening and staying till Wed. afternoon but came up last night. Strange weather here, looks like it could rain at any minute. Yesterday I had to go to the walk in clinic for a UTI. I left there, stopped at a store and then headed to Walgreens. When I got to Walgreens, about 2:25 they said my prescription wouldn’t be ready for 15 minutes. Since there isn’t any place to wait I went to the car but made sure they had my cell phone number to text me when it was ready. I went in the store at 3:15 because I hadn’t had a text and find out they close at 3 on Sundays. I was furious and in need of the meds. I went back to the clinic and told them my problem (closed pharmacy) and asked them to send the script to a 24 hour Walgreens in the next town. They were extremely nice and suggested I use the independent pharmacy right next door to them. One of the NAs walked me over with the script, the pharmacist couldn’t put it on insurance because Walgreens was filling the script but told me that once Walgreens turned the script back in he would then process the meds under my insurance. The nice people at the clinic and the pharmacist made up for the terrible service I received at Walgreens. If they weren’t going to have time to fill the script they should have told me. UGH!!!!

Good afternoon everyone. We got up early and went to the Family Day at Sawyer’s school. It was for the Kindergarten classes only. DD/DSIL & his parents were there also. Sawyer was thrilled to see us all. It was fun to see her classroom, meet her teacher, see the things they are doing, and hear about the expectations for the K’s. As the teacher, who has been teaching for 27 years said, expectations are SO much higher now than when she started out. She said K’s now need to know what the 1st graders knew way back when. She attributes it to all the state/federally mandated testing because schools are judged on the test scores and in some states so are the teachers.
DD was doing well walking today. Said the bottoms of her feet hurt the worst and she tried on 3 pairs of shoes before she found one that didn’t make her feet feel worse. She said her hips hurt some, her back hurt some (she wore a vest with water in it) and she also tends to slouch a little (she’s tall and it was a bad habit she started when dating shorter guys). But she was doing really well overall. I haven’t heard how DIL is doing today, but I’d expect it’s about the same. Except she said she hurt the IT band on her right knee at about the 11-12 mile mark, and her knee swelled up, so I’m guessing that’s pretty sore. And she said yesterday she’ll be so happy not to have to train for another run with all the excess skin on her stomach because of the skin reduction surgery the end of this month.
Stan was in AFib most of yesterday and got up in AFib this morning. Then I mentioned we should stop at the hospital that is right down there and pick up the holster monitor they want him to wear for it, and he said it was gone. Just as it comes on suddenly, it goes away suddenly. I’m so happy for that!!!
I think he and Maggie are going on a run shortly. I’m thinking I’ll go downstairs and keep sorting kids’ clothing after I put in the towels and other laundry. DD said there is a girl at Sawyer’s school whose father took the kids and left the mother due to abuse and they left with nothing. So kids need everything. DD was going to have her girls go thru toys and books and I said I’d find the winter 5’s we have here for them. And I have multiple bins to get thru to find them all. And what they can’t use will be bundled and hopefully sold.
Dottie, that is really horrible service from Walgreen’s. What nice people at the clinic and the pharmacy next door to them. I’m glad you got help when you needed it. Does your little granddaughter go to daycare when you are there or do you get to spend time with her?
Joy, you are just doing great on all your de-cluttering. Keep up the great work. Wild have lost first 2 games. Home opener should be soon. Most of their first 1/3 of the season is spent on the road. Lots of home games in the winter. Vikings won yesterday but we were at the marathon so didn’t watch or even hear about it until long after we were home.
ok, need to get moving and get some things done around here. A couple days w/o Mara and I need to take advantage of it. Have a good day all.
