Good morning - up early today as it is our road trip to Gillette today! I just NEED some quiet time before we have to get ready to go!! Coffee is making - dryer is started - and here I am in the quiet "chilly" morning with my bottle of water to start my SENSIBLE SUNDAY! I can remain "sensible" even being out and about with the family - YES.I.CAN.!
I will bring water for the car ride - I won't need "snacks" as it is (only) 2 1/2 hours.... no one "needs" to eat on a 2 1/2 hour car ride, right?? I honestly don't have much here right now to take sensible snacks today! UGH - didn't PLAN this very well!
Oh well, I can make this work!
I think I am still back on Friday for "catching up"...

Christine: Sorry you are NOT off on Monday... WOW, sounds like DL and The prince have just made a lot of folks "angry" over EVERYTHING! I'd be grateful the training was on my usual school time - and not be complaining - hey the parents are more "put out" than the teachers! LOL
Sue: Still anxious to get to the did you have snow or not?!?? LOL I am so far behind here!! Not even been on FB much the past few days - not much is holding my attention these days!
Sounds like Friday of mini-golf and the hand made brick oven pizza would be fun!! How is Shea settling in?? I know he's used to it - they all are - but still might feel weird that "first day" home!
Tracy & I got a jump on the dumpster yesterday - but I have to admit - we do need Ken's help! Glad he will be home Monday... some of the boards are too long for the dumpster - so HE need to get his saw out and chop them up! I am sure I will not be giving up time next week - I don't imagine Debbie will get in this quickly with a surgeon - if she has even made the call... she does not take very good care of herself these days...
Thank you - I know I need to let it go - and follow through with the 2nd test... if I end up needing the mask thing I can make it work - I am just very stressed out and depressed about it. I am hoping for that "miracle" though... that IF I get this thing and get the O2 I supposedly "need" MAYBE I will start to feel better about a lot of things!! Maybe not be so "down" all the time - and maybe HAVE more "energy" to do the things I want to do!!
The insoles don't seem to be doing much - but will keep using them... maybe it has to get worse before it gets better?? The pain is pretty much steady these days!
LOL Trust me IF there were a game in Foxboro today we would NOT be going there!! NO WAY! THat's why this is the week to go! I see on the map of the place there is now a Christmas Tree Shop there - I don't remember that being there the last time we went! I even enjoyed wandering around Bass Pro Shop... just browsing new places is fun!

OH I hope you all made it a SUPERB Saturday!!
Gabrielle - Thanks for starting us off yesterday -
I did GREAT with my "Activity"! YAY! 9,538 steps! Almost UNHEARD of for ME these days!! Probably why my foot is really hurting today!??
The rest of the day was - EH...
100 oz water ā 5 F/V ā No sugar āļø No flour ā No wine ā Journal ā No eating after 7 āļø 7 out of 10 red dots āļøm Actually got 9 out of 10!
The wine is almost gone again - and I won't buy it again for a while... need to get back OFF that bandwagon! Wednesday was a very tough day - very depressing and unsettling, so I stopped and got it on my way home... funny thing is... now I just drink it - because... I don't truly "enjoy" it - so it needs to GO again!
Another night of restless sleep - and Ken slept out back... so I know I need to get a handle on this sleep thing - but (of course) have not heard from the sleep study lab to get an appointment! I know it won't be as quick as the take home one! Still stressed and depressed that this is my life now... every time I turn around something else is wrong... BUT... I also know that my weight is also not helping my sleep "disorder"... so if I can get better sleep - maybe I can lose the weight - and the goal would be to not need this mask - machine - O2 whatever the rest of my life!
Gabrielle: YAY to getting home safely - how was your chat with the bus driver?? Was it well received? Or was she defensive about it? UGH I cannot imagine dealing with no power for so long! Knock on wood - around here, when it goes out it is rarely for more than an hour or so!
Gosh I can't imagine a controlled burn out of control! But I guess, anything can happen - and being so dry and windy... I can't believe they even tried!! I hope you get a nice long drawn out three day gentle rain - that is my hope for you! {{{hugs}}}
I will post pics from the bog today!
Well after cleaning out the fridge - you must need to shop today - good luck... with everyone being without power - you won't be alone!! Hope your Saturday was superb!

Christine: YAY for good sleep for you!! I agree a cold rainy morning is perfect for sleeping in and being lazy! Add to that the coffee was made for you?? WIN-WIN! Sorry the rain spoiled some of the morning events for Carly - but YAY for Linds NOT missing out on her celebrations!
WOW to your 9k steps Friday... adding in stairs... OUCH! LOL UGH Of course there are always those few that won't "participate"... I was amazed at how many people were ON their cell phones during our retirement seminars! Some even let the darned things RING and they stepped out to take the calls!! Sounds like other than those few the training/chatting was a hit with everyone!
LOL Let those teachers complain to the New Dean... HER CIRCUS... not yours!
Nope = probably never going to please everyone... but good for you for setting up all this training - they need to know how to take the test results and make them useful!
WOW - WOW - WOW to a day with NOTHING on the agenda! How long did that last for you?? Probably until DD woke up and got her day started?? LOL I hope you were able to do some planning... yes, please share when/where you do your yoga stretching - and WHAT Yoga stretching do you DO?? I asked the facilities manager if I could gain access to one small area - to be able to do just that - simple stretching - but because it would also give me "access" to behind the teller line I can not have that access! UGH! Seriously?? I have worked there 21 years and you worry I'm gonna STORM THE TELLER LINE FROM BEHIND! WTH?? Of course I could be like Kaitlin and just lay on the floor of the cubicle, but seriously - it is so annoying to me to WATCH her roll around on her ball, and lay flat to stretch her back... I'd almost rather kick her out of the way some days! Sorry - not nice... ANYWAY... I also need to make room here at home... so I can just do it! I want to learn a "routine" in my head, and not need a DVD or anything to guide me... but I guess I gotta start somewhere - most likely with a DVD! UGH!
OH dear I Hope your DC is safe and so is her home. I need to contact some of Ken's CA family... they are all over the place out there - so I am not sure who is near what!??!!
LOL Yes... ya' know little things, like three different food processors, and a stand mixer - I have never used... it was a 2nd hand one from a friend - but I never once used it in these - how ever many years it's been here... so out-it-goes! I am itching to get up to the attic... some of Tracy's stuff is going OUT as well! IF she ever moves she will not want this 60 year ole kitchen table that DMIL gave her so long ago! Yup, she used it in her last 2 apartments - but seriously, IF she were to buy the condo she is looking at - it would NOT look good in there anyway... so I have convinced her to get rid of it! YAY!
I will also have clothes, and stuff to donate elsewhere... we don't have much for 2nd hand stores and consignment around here - so donate and keep track of everything I give away!
Oh Gabrielle - meant to say - I WISH we had a "dump" around here that would take this junk... but we'd have to pay $2.00 per bag and bag it - to throw it out! Our "transfer station" won't even take things like mattress' and box springs... or the lumber stuff... so we HAVE to do the dumpster route for anything like this!
Oh and Tracy has made contact with a construction company - who will take our old broken concrete... we just have to load her trailer and haul it down there! They "recycle" concrete... who knew??? It's going to be a lot of BACK BREAKING lifting... but we will get it done - maybe not this week, but before snow flies - IF I have anything to say about it!
I have my yard guy coming this week to discuss a fall cleanup - AFTER we get all of our piles off the lawn!
WOW - WOW - WOW, to that HS teacher that thought drinking with students would not be looked down upon!? WHAT was he thinking?? Oh right - he thought he was having FUN! So much for "fun" and being "friends" when he goes looking for another job!

Jenny: How did shopping go?? Did she find the perfect dress?? Will she have a date? Or will it be a group of girls going together?? YAY to the new football field... will you go to the game??
How does Audrey feel about the drinking? If she had not been driving... does it appeal to her?? I was one of those young drinkers... I was never the driver - and we bought it ourselves...
Oh dear... sorry about the "breakup" with Siobhan... but hey you tried! Have to LOL she was intimidated, but still went on all the fun beach trips... when did this start "bothering" her??? Anyway {{{hugs}}} to you - I am sure it's not easy to have her out of your life ā„
Sue: Oh NO! Up and out for nothing??? UGH! Not cool... not a way to expect much next time!! Sounds like a fun time catching up with the neighbors... Oh right... birthday BASH was yesterday! I bet it went off perfectly!
LOL Yes, once I got started - I hated to stop! BUT I know my "limits"... I kind of wish I had NOT said I would go today - I could use the day home to gather more junk to toss!! OH well, I still have the week - unless I go into work - but again, I doubt it will come to that!
Sorry you were up and down all night too! UGH I was not up and down, but awake a good part of last night too - and Ken was sleeping out back! I was in bed over 7 hours but Fitbit says I slept only 4 hours 46 minutes... I will sit in the back seat today and try to rest in the car... not always easy for me, but maybe? I know I can no longer BLAME Ken... yes when I am awake his snoring keeps me awake, but it is not HIM that wakes me up so much during the night! Gosh I hate to admit he's right! UGH!!!
Yeah the tires "came with the car", so it's time... I can't complain... and they found me a mail in rebate - eh, it is what it is!
Oh nice that Shea will only be gone a week this time! Yes, even if they add a flight or two to his schedule it;s not the same as when he was "away" in the past... how exciting for all of them - to have a new "life" to figure out!!
I know - I hear ya', walking after work is just not the same as walking in the morning - when you have no "schedule" to adhere to! I used to walk - when my work day started at 11:00 AM! Not these days!!

OK - Time to think about this "Sensible" Sunday... I got my Fitbit charged so it won't die out on me as I wander around Patriot Place today. Some shopping - I expect we will eat at Five Guys (Eden's favorite)... then head over to Bass Pro Shops... not sure if everyone (else) will want to go into the Patriot Hall (again) or not. We will be taking Zoƫ as it is LARP weekend... will drop her off at home on our way through this evening. I am sure we will have to do dinner on the way home too - so 2 meals out in the same day... Five Guys will be OK, I get a bunless burger, with lots of toppings! Will share fries with DH... dinner, well that's a different story! Unless we do Olive Garden in Foxboro and then hit 5 guys for supper... If I eat at Olive Garden in the afternoon - I won't need much for dinner - but I know my family... sisters do NOT combine 2 meals in 1 - even if one is a BIG meal... so whatever - I will "go-with-the-flow" today!
Looking at partly cloudy and only mid 60s today in Foxboro - so jeans it is!! Will wear my Vionic flip flops but tale my sneakers - just in case!
Time to fold the laundry in the dryer- and make a 2nd pot of coffee - for Ken and Tracy - I have this one almost gone! YIKES! Then time to hit the shower and get the water packed and a bag of stuff for Zoƫ... everyone else is still sleeping... we need to leave in an hour and a half so someone better get up soon!
Enjoy your SENSIBLE Sunday ladies... ā„hugsā„

Good morning!
Thanks for starting us off today, Carole! Another cold and SMOKEY day in No. California. I didn't even watch the news much yesterday....I think that the fire is 25% contained now? It is a "wildfire" out in the wilderness. No houses, but so sad about the loss of the beautiful trees around Caples Lake (one of my favorite high elevation lakes around here) and the smoke is really terrible. It did seem to get better in the afternoon yesterday so hope that it is the same today. I didn't even grocery shop yesterday figuring that a LOT of people would be replacing food. I am going today after my WW meeting though. That gives me time to finalize my list. I had a mani/pedi yesterday after my run and it felt GREAT! So, I was looking up the weather in Roanoke, TX (the closest town to Deloitte University - Center for Leadership) and it looks like it will be 80 degrees with on/off rain? Uggh...kind of humid for this dry weather girl! I think that we will be inside in classes for most of the weekend anyway---kind of getting excited about it even though I am giving up my weekend to do this for work.
Carole: Thanks for starting us off today and enjoy your day! Sounds like fun strolling through the shops, etc. I am a sucker for holiday decorations (including fall). I even love Bass Pro Shops--fun to see everything and they usually have some amazing water feature inside. Wow, you worked hard yesterday! Making the most of the dumpster...and I am tired just thinking of loading up concrete--I can not imagine how heavy that load will be. I know though that you will be SO happy when it is done. So, thinking about you and the sleeping "diagnosis" and all of the other things. I think that it is time to compartmentalize and think of ONE thing at a time. From everything that I have read, lack of sleep affects judgement, weight, energy level.....I really think that it should be your sole focus right now to see how it feels when they address it (wow, hope that you get an appt soon!) Please stop beating yourself up about all of the other things---you get an A+ for effort--time to see if someone else can help you. If I were you, I would call next week to follow up. Hey, I don't recall why Debbie needs a surgeon? No matter what, I can't imagine getting anything done this quickly either....hope that you get your week off. LOL, I am trying to imagine people rolling on balls and stretching in the office? What does THAT look like!?? Can you take this to your committee that you are on for the bank? If you all are trying to make people feel better, maybe a dedicated area would be a good plan for the committee?? Hope that you have a good day today!

Sue: So glad to read that Shea will be back home soon after leaving on Monday! So nice for Hannah and the boys! I need to check FB--how did the party go? Reading your post about walking in the morning....I MUCH prefer exercising in the morning and do it 99% of time. It helps clear my head, get myself in a good frame of mind for the day, and then I don't have to feel "guilty?" if I am tired at the end of the day. I get energy from it. I wonder if you might somehow fit it in before work when you return? You never know--maybe someone can walk and join you. Since you asked, you are right, the marathon is the weekend of the 25th. Here are my crazy travel plans: Fri: 10/18- Fly to TX for Deloitte University Leadership Program (work) and attend sessions until Sunday at noon. Fly out of TX on Sun 10/20 to Sacramento and drive to Sonoma for a work meeting. Stay in Sonoma until Tues, 10/22 and drive home in the afternoon. Pack for DC and fly out at 6:00 am on 10/23. Fly back from DC on Mon 10/28 and drive from the airport to Half Moon Bay for a hospital Board conference -- drive home on 10/30. So, almost the last two weeks of this month are all over the place....lots of organizing. I had to buy extra underwear to make sure that I had enough!!! TMI I know Hope that you have a good last day with the family.
Christine: Yay for sleeping in! And good for you for being aware of what your teachers need to do better work in their classroom. I have to believe that all teachers want to do a good job...some are more "open" to realizing that they can learn how to be better than others. They are lucky to have you! Any big plans for today? I hope not! Hope that you can enjoy a nice, cool sunny day after yesterday's rain! I am so amazed of how strong you are--with SO many physical challenges after the last month, you have held your head high and carried on. Really, AMAZING!

Jenny: So, did you find a dress for Audrey? Last night we went to a local brewery for dinner and there was a large group of homecoming kids there---most girls were wearing short dresses with full skirts (not clingy at all)==is that in style in Salem as well? Fun shopping I would think! Wow, I have to say, I am amazed that you and Siobhan still have had any kind of relationship. After all that you have done to include her, support her, try to help her make "sensible" decisions (even when she wouldn't listen)...some relationships are toxic and very self-serving. Sounds like she is probably mostly envious of you in terms of having a husband, stable home and income....sounds like she might need to be on her own (for your sake). So sorry after all of the time and effort you have committed to her. Hope that you are having a good weekend.
Oh Carole---there are a few fires--one out in the desert of So. Cal (Riverside/San Bernardino), on more towards the valley/coast of So Cal (Sylmar) and it is heading into the hills with less homes. The Santa Ana winds are blowing now (always high winds and often in the fall months)....my sister said it's been in the high 90's and super hot too. I don't know where your family lives.....
Hello to Shelly, Lisa, and all who follow. Need to get that fridge finished and get organized. Have a good day, ladies!

Good morning
Well Audrey didn't want to go shopping yesterday so we will go today to Macy's, they always have the best dresses and not to expensive either, we have a b-day party for my great neice today at 1;00 then after that we will go and get a dress. Audrey couldn't believe her friends were drinking last weekend. She's not really into drinking because she signed a contract with her dance studio that promises she won't drink or smoke week or do any kind of drugs. She thinks drinking is stupid.
Oh Siobhan is so lost in her life right now I hate that it came to this but ls like a weight was lifted off my shoulders also. I didn't do anything with her after I beach trip back in May that's how all this started last weekend. She wanted to know why so I told her. She just didn't want to take the truth about what happened and started to play the blame game on me, and I flat out told her just to stop this BS. Then she wanted me to aplogize to her and I flat out told her "I'm not apologizing for her insecuritites", Oh well she can deal with life without me.
Carole have a good trip today and enjoy your week off. I'm taking off the week of Thanksgiving and looking forward to it.
Gabrielle yeah to having lights again. I'm glad that's over for you. Looks like a bad fire going on down south, sorry about the smoke.
OK need to get this day started have a good one

Afternoon all....have had a fun last full day in Nebraska....canāt believe we have to head home tomorrow already but alas...the work world calls for a few more years....looking forward to the day we can book a ticket out and the if something comes up we can stay an extra day or two and just get a ticket home...
Jenny....you must have popped in yesterday at the same time I was posting! Yes, homecoming time of year....how fun the guys get to play on their new field...Iām sure it means a lot to the school to finally have their own field. It kind of makes me sad that you and Siobhan canāt find a common ground in your friendship but she has taken advantage of your kindness and generosity. Sometimes being āa good friendā is not what people need....sometimes itās the ātough loveā and breaking the ties....hugs to you my friend!
WOW Carole...you sure did get in a lot of steps yesterday....sounds like you made some good progress on the dumpster, even with Zoe underfoot! Iām hoping the HT was nice and warm and ready for you to soak last night...Iām sure after all that ātossingā it felt good on your tired, overworked muscles! LOL! Good, Iām hoping that you donāt have to give up any of your week off...will be nice to just have time to yourself at home to regroup and get a few things off the āhoney doā list! Really??? Debbieās DH thinks she is looking for attention??? Sounds like heās not doing much to get himself back to normal since his surgery!
Love your insight this morning on staying āsensibleā even with the family day at Patriotās place. No, no one needs snacks on a 2 1/2 hour road trip....besides with not much in the way of sensible snacks anyway itās a perfect excuse to not bring any and this week you can stock up again!
LOL Carole...you may have seen by now...we did get āflakesā but no real snow! Yes, the mini-golf and brick oven pizza was a fun afternoon...the guy makes is own dough and that was the best...Iām not usually a ācrustā person, but I did enjoy a couple of the crusts!
Yes...it is kind of weird for Hannah & Shea...while they are used to being apart with him in the AF....this a bit of a different schedule...the one thing Hannah loves is that when he is NOT on a trip...he is HOME!! In the AF he would have a couple days at home post-mission but then had to head into base daily for work. While Hannah likes the idea of having him home she did look at him the other night and said āyou might drive me crazy being home for days on endā! Sheās so used to doing things by herself, he might get in her way until they figure out their ānew normalā!
Hopefully Monday Ken can get that wood cut up for you so it can find itās way to the dumpster! You are probably right about Debbie and the surgeon....at least where we live people wait weeks, even months if itās not an emergency thing. Hopefully Debbie doesnāt let things drag on and does at least get an appointment/consult...then she can put off the surgery if needed for a bit but at least figure out how soon things should be taken care of....
Carole...we know several people with the CPAP machine and they swear by it...takes a little getting used to from what I hear but once you do the improvement in your sleep is amazing....hopefully this will help you as well! Last time I was at Patriot Place I donāt remember a Christmas Tree Shop either. Thatās always a fun place to poke around in...can find some fun holiday things in there....heck, the cereal bowls we have in the cupboard are from a trip to CTS probably 20-25 years ago....Carol and I used to take the girls when they were little...kind of like I did with the Dollar Store this week for Kale & Rowan....they would find all sorts of fun trinkets!
WOW CArole...I remember the ādumpā my DM went to on the Cape...they took everything, even had a āSwap Shedā for gently used things that werenāt ready to be trash that others could come in and just take. Definitely sounds like a dumpster is the way to go for you....if you had to bag it all and pay $2 per bag it would likely be comparable to the cost of the dumpster and the ease of just ātossingā stuff in far outweighs the bagging part!

Yes...the birthday party was great! Not sure how expensive the Wildlife Encounter is but it is worth it....the kids loved it and got to pet or feed the animals...all the kids at the party got to pet them too! Some of the kids were here last year when they had the same thing....they were so excited when they found out that the animals were here again....the only repeats this year were the kangaroo and bearded dragon....the other 4 were new this year!
Ah yes Carole...get on a good roll of āpurgingā and you hate to stop. Your body might appreciate the break today though! Iām sure you will have some sore muscles as the day go by... Nice bonus with the mail in rebate for the tires....I always laugh at your 2 sisters and not being about to combine 2 meals...often I would prefer to combine meals like brunch or an early dinner/late lunch kind of thing...then in the evening, IF Iām hungry I just snack on yogurt or something light just to fill the hole in stomach until morning!
Gabrielle...sorry the Smokey days continue....that has to be so hard to run outside or even breath if you are out in the yard....canāt imagine how people with breathing issues survive! LOL...you sound like my DB Jim....he hates humidity! Heās in San Antonio where it is dry so when he comes to the East Coast in the spring, summer and fall...heās miserable.
Gabrielle...I actually tried several years ago to get up early and hit the TM before work...unfortunately, Iām one of those people that even if Iām up early I still canāt wind down any earlier at night and I NEED my sleep...I tried for almost 3 weeks and I got more and more rundown and sick...never put two and two together until I tried again weeks later after I was healthy and rested again and the same thing happened. Iām definitely an after work person but since Iām not a huge fan of exercise I can easily āblow it offā and not do it! This week was got up when we woke up, I had a cup of coffee and a little snack and off we went....itās been perfect but I wonāt have that luxury when Iām back at work!
WOW Gabrielle....thatās a crazy travel schedule coming up! LOL, Jason and I both needed new undies and we both bought extra before Michigan for the same reason! Need to be prepared and you figure we will have years to wear them! LOL!
Jenny....your DD has a very sensible head on her shoulders regarding alcohol, drugs and cigarettes...you should be proud. I know many kids that have signed those contracts and till drank....Iām proud of Audrey for sticking to her commitment to the dance studio! YAY for nice and not too expensive at Macyās....we used to hit JC Penney when the girls were younger....Deb Shop also had some nice, reasonably priced dresses but not sure they exist anymore?? No, you donāt owe Siobhan an apology....unfortunately she has āmade her own bedā so to speak and now must dig deep an look inside and work on herself.
Had a low-key morning here...then left for the Childrenās Museum. They have a membership that expires tomorrow and new dinosaur exhibit opened yesterday so they wanted to take the boys....it was a cute, interactive place and the boys love it there....they have a lot of Halloween themed displays too the month. Rowan seems to be ācoming down with somethingā so we brought Shea and Rowan back to the house before heading to the Y for swimming lessons. WOW, has Kale improved since we last saw him. His instructor told Hannah he could move up next session if he wanted but would be fine where he is for one more to help build up endurance and strength....I think thatās what Hannah will do because Rowan and Kale are now at the same time....Preschool 3ās are the same time as School Age 4ās....Rowan has one more session in preschool because of his birthday so after the holidays they will switch to School Age 3ās & 5 ās which are at the same time....always nice when they over lap! If Hannah moved Kale this next session they would be at different times and a hassle....canāt say as I blame her!
The ākidsā are off on āDate Nightā and I have dinner in the oven....just about finished and will call the boys in shortly....Rowan is feeling better with a dose of Tylenol....honestly just think heās exhausted from the party and being up late the night before! He will be in bed at 7:30pm and hopefully good as new by morning!
Waves Christine, Lisa and Shelly....hope all had a great day! Not sure if Iāll get to pop on in the morning or not...will leave here about 10:30am....not planning on really āpackingā until morning....we will likely all be up 7-7:30 to say good bye to Shea!
See you all from PA if I donāt get here tomorrow!
