This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Good morning friends,
There have been no updates from Jana since mid-day yesterday when she said that there had been no change, and her DM was still sleeping peacefully.
We woke up to 68 degrees in the house this morning and I LOVE it. The coffee just tastes better when the temps are crisp. I made a lovely pot of Café Bustelo. Sipping strong, hot coffee in my fluffy robe and slippers....awesome! Temps look to bump back up a little during the week with highs in the upper 70s. Still better than 98. Haha
When I got up this morning I took a couple things into the laundry room and spotted a doe in the back yard. She was calmly crossing from one side to the other, and then headed down the game trail that is over next to the chicken coop. I got a couple of pics, I might post.
No real plans for today at this point. Mark says he needs to work some at some point today.

Good morning, everyone,
I missed a couple of days here, but went back and caught up with your posts. I, too, am thinking of Jana and her family. I am glad that her mom seems to be comfortable, and peaceful... Janet, I hope you get all your work done in time. I think I saw that you are off tomorrow. I hope you have a good day!
Lora, I love seeing deer in the yard! They eat the fallen apples off of my trees, and clean everything up very nicely! The coffee and cool temperatures sound so nice. We have been having some beautiful fall weather here, and cool nights. No frost yet. Susie, I remember when Gavin was born, too! What a fun party. I laughed about them picking up a bowling ball, but sorry you had the toe injury with the stein! Your cholesterol numbers sound fine. We use a calculator for ASCVD risk that includes your blood pressure, age, HDL, total cholesterol, and history of smoking and diabetes, and get a risk factor percentage. Anything under 7% is not considered at risk for needing statin therapy. Some people with pretty normal cholesterol numbers end up needing statins based on other history. Last time I had my lipid panel done, my HDL was 125. I've never seen one that high, and I'm not totally sure what the heck it means.
Andi, I'm glad you had such a nice day off. It sounded so relaxing! The coffee flavors sound interesting... Sorry about the sleep issues for you (and Lora, too). I hate when little symptoms pop up that make me wonder what is going on, like the shortness of breath. I guess as we get older, we also feel more vulnerable. These things didn't phase me a bit when I was younger, and I know I have had things like that here and there, over the years!
I didn't get here Friday or yesterday, because Friday after I got home from work, I decided to go out and reinforce another one of the beams on the side of the barn. I felt better about that. Then yesterday I worked. It was funny, because I walked in at 0740, and the out-going crew said, Good luck! There hasn't been a single call here for 3 days! Well, 5 minutes later, we got a call, and we were off and running. It was SO busy all day. Nothing too bad, just lots of calls, and documentation. It did slow down after 6:00, so I got to watch the last half of the Nats baseball game, which they WON! I really hope they make it to the World Series. Then I got off at 8p and came home for a relaxing evening. I am relaxing with my coffee this morning and then heading to the store for some things for the week. I hope to paint another side of the pool shed this afternoon. I think the weather is supposed to be pretty nice today...it will be a good day to be outside! I hope everyone is having a good weekend. I will be back later, but for now, I am waving to all!

Hi Everyone, In a bit I plan to head over to the gym for a while. I need to do some vacuuming and cleaning at some point. I should go to the library again to start working on my parent teacher conference forms especially since I am supposed to have jury duty on Thursday so wont be able to do anything at work. I was supposed to receive another summons form but realized that I never received it. I am going to try again later to do it online but couldnt seem to get to the questionaire. If I cant do it I will call them on Tuesday. Other than that a load of laundry and reading my book and maybe a quick stop at a different dollar store or Giant. Have a great day!

Good Morning All...wow, did I sleep in...I was up to go to the bathroom, but went back to sleep..DH got up and I went back to sleep again. It was almost 9:00 when I got up; I can't remember the last time I slept till 9. Went outside and it was chilly, so I came back in and put on a sweater, sweat pants, and a robe and went back out...it was sprinkling a little - I loved it. The sprinkles only lasted a few minutes - darn - I wanted to sit on the porch and enjoy it; however, it is overcast and not supposed to get above the upper 60s today so maybe I will get out there yet...or take a walk. I made some savory oatmeal with quinoa this morning, and put some of my fresh basil in it and a tiny little bit of turkey breast... yum. Had my coffee and I am ready to change and head to the clubhouse gym. We have a birthday celebration today a few doors down the street and then I will play Hand & Foot tonight...nice day.
Lora - How peaceful to sip your coffee and relax...looking forward to seeing pics of the doe.
Robin- wow, that is an awesome HDL! Enjoy the day....go Nats!
Janet - Sounds like the ROs are doing laundry and heading to the gym today - lol

Hey y'all. We just came back in for being outside and I see that Jana's mom has passed. She has posted on her own FB page, so it's public knowledge if you wanted to pop over there and offer condolences or some words of comfort.

It seems like Jana's mom passed peacefully. It still was such a quick downturn though. 😣

Got to the library and realized I left my wallet in my backpack. I started to not to go in but I remembered that I also had my library information on my keyring. I was able to pass it into their reserve system for the computers. I thought if I had to go home and return I might not have had time to get on the computer. I was able to get 5 conference cards done so at least a start. Did some vacumming and a bit of cleaning. Debating about going back out but I think I may skip it. I am in the mood to make cornflake chicken but by the time I go get it I may not feel like cooking it but if I do I could cook it in the morning maybe for tommorow's dinner. For some odd reason I cant find my gym lock. Looked at my usual places even under my car seat just in case I dropped it out of my pack somehow. Not there either! Oh well! And I knew that combo too. lol! Maybe one other place to look is at work where I store my backpack. I didnt want to skip going to the gym so I took in with me but had it where I could see it. I would never leave my stuff in an empty locker unguarded.

Hi, all,
I am back in from painting the shed. Got a lot of it done. I really didn't feel like it, but knew that I would be disgusted with myself for not doing it, when I had a perfectly good afternoon to do it. The dogs played and had a nice time watching me. Duchess is now wearing a patch of gray paint, too. HA! She brushed up against the side of the building, and got a nice smear.
I am sorry to hear of Jana's mom passing. This is still a very fresh pain for me, so I know that even expecting it, does not really make it easier at all. I am thinking of her dad, too.
Susie, your day sounds like an almost perfect Sunday. Have a nice time at the party and card game!
I hope to be back later. Take care, everyone... RobinMD

Thinking about Jana...it is never easy to lose a loved one.
Janet - I forget things all the time...glad you remembered you had the library info on your key ring too.
Robin - had to laugh at Duchess and the gray paint
The party this afternoon was so much fun...just got in from Hand & Foot and I am ready to settle down. Hope everyone has a good night ...sleep well.
