This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Good morning everyone.
Well it looks like after a couple of really rough sleep nights (Fri and Sat), I'm back in "sleeping away half the day" mode. Lol. Actually I've been up for about 45 minutes now. First priority was to start a pot of coffee. I found that I LOVE the Starbucks Mocha flavored ground coffee, it's a very subtle chocolate flavor, and not artificial and overwhelming like some chocolate flavored coffees are. Anyway, it's what sounded just right for me this morning.
Last night I pan braised a pack of boneless country style ribs on top of the stove just until tender and then transferred them to a baking sheet and popped them under the broiler for a few minutes to crisp up the fatty parts. I added G.Hughes SF BBQ sauce to Mark's, mine were kept plain. We each had a lovely perfectly ripe sliced avocado as our side. It was so simple and so delicious.
Okay, I have a few things to do around here so will check back later. Wishing everyone a calm and easy Monday. BBL

Good Morning Lora and ATF...I managed to get up and off to gym class (even tho I was a little late). DH went to his neurofit training. I went from the gym to DD's house, took DGD to pre-school, stopped at WAWA for gas and a coffee treat for DH (plain, black, robust Cuban), got home and a new neighbor called, then the doorbell rang with another neighbor - so I ended up walking around the block with her and her doggie...on the walk we stopped and talked to some other neighbors - have I told you how much I LOVE my neighborhood? LOL! Anyway, at 2:00 I have to go to another neighbor's house to work on the "charades topics" for tomorrow night. I sure hope Andi can find a place like this when she retires!
Lora - that dinner looks delicious!
Waving to everyone...bbl

Hi Everyone, Got out a bit late today but okay as I was off today anyway. I was looking for a combination lock but was only finding the padlock type with a key. I eventually went over to Walmart later when I saw online that they had one and cheaper than one I finally found at the grocery store. It was smaller but that was okay with me.
I made some phone calls this morning for my mammogram and for the new doctor/s I researched before. I set it up for December. I went food shopping, made a quick stop at Walmart and came home and prepared my cornflake chicken. mmm! I have some leftovers too. I cooked a small sweet potato and made carrot salad. All great as I havent made it in quite some time. Sometimes if I make it in the summer I make corn on the cob instead of the potato. Susie, sounds like you found the perfect neighborhood. Lora, as usual your ribs sound great although I know I'd like the kind with the bbq sauce like your husband's the best probably. Back to Paradise tommorow. Even tho I did my lesson plan it dawned on me that I never made a copy of it on Saturday so I dont remember what I put down for tommorow. Oh well! I guess I will see when I print it out at work. Sometimes I send it to myself but lately it doesnt always work when I try to attach something. Have a great rest of the night.

Hello all.
I am home tonight with DH and the pups. Just enjoying the quiet time.
The last 3 weeks have been so crazy. In some ways it feels like it took forever and in other ways it all happened so quickly. 3 weeks ago tomorrow I took my mom to the ER. I don't think it has fully hit me yet. My DS is going home tomorrow and will come back Friday night for the service on Saturday.
My DF is a wreck. He wouldn't go to the funeral home with us today. I have no idea if some of the decisions I am making are right or wrong or what I need to do. I'm kind of flying by the seat of my pants.
My Aunt gave me a really wonderful compliment today. She told me she was proud of how I have handled everything, for being strong when I needed to be and for being gentle when I needed to be. She said if she had a daughter she would want her to be just like me. I don't feel particularly strong.
Thanks for all the kind words and support during this time it means the world to me.

Janet - glad you found the lock you wanted and got your mammogram scheduled. Your dinner sounds yummy
Jana - you are VERY strong...you have had to go through so much this past year...you were there for everyone...wonderful that your DAunt recognized that! I was not around when my DF passed, but my DS was there at the hospital since she lived closest to my parents. Dad had gone to the hospital one day and the next he was gone. Then, when DM passed, I was in Spain visiting my YDD. My DSister was a rock...don't know what I would have done if it hadn't been for her....you are the rock in your family!! It will all take time to sink in...all you can do is take one day at a time....hope all goes smoothly for the rest of the week
