Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend still least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good afternoon all.
Do you remember Ann, lives in Houston, still working? She’s had lots of health issues; took care of her 95 year old DM until she passed away; was in a car accident a year ago and has lingering bad migraines. Apparently yesterday or today she fell in her yard and broke bones in her shoulder. Neighbor called 911 and she is now in a sling. Might need surgery. Not fun!!!
Mara woke up crying at 6:45 am. After giving her a cup of milk, she asked to watch Wiggles. Told her no way since it was still dark out and it was still night time. She cuddled back on my shoulder and went back to sleep for over an hour. I didn’t sleep, but rested.
Getting laundry done and a few other chores. May get a little more rain and then tomorrow we are to get fall back. 60’s and sunshine! Can hardly wait!!! Taking Mara to her movement/dance class after dinner. Meeting DS there and then she’ll come home with us until lunch time tomorrow.
Dottie, we are trying (but not very quickly) to get rid of the excess. Would help not to have all the kid stuff here. We are leaving detailed instructions for our children for what to do with things. A list of what each child is to have (jewelry, etc.); and then that they are to take car(s) to one of the big car buying places and get them appraised, and if anyone wants one, that $$ amount comes out of their total inheritance. And we have told them and will put in writing, to take any furniture or household items they want and then call Bridging to come get the rest of it. Donate clothing to charity, household to Bridging, and Stan’s ham radio equipment to his local club to sell and use proceeds for the club or else donate it to a young person who wants to start up in ham radio but can’t afford the equipment. Hopefully that will cut down on the work for our younger DD who is our executor and also any hard feelings. We will discuss what each wants sometime in the near future so we can get the list done and notarized.
and we have a pile of heavy duty 4x8 sheets of plywood that “someone” was going to build a boat out of, but didn’t, that is still sitting in the garage!! So I feel your pain! And the tool area (and the ham radio area) are both a mess!! But then I can’t say much because right now my craft area is a mess also!!!
Ok, going to go get a few things finished before Mara wakes up. Just heard the dryer and I want to work downstairs a little more today. Have a great day all.

Good afternoon,
Went to my first WW workshop ... it’s been years. I agree with other cashier, the leader is great. She sounds like a terrific motivator.
Just letting you know that I have an old garage door, in pieces of course, lying next to the garage. My old handyman wanted it, but that was years ago. So there it sits. One of these days I’ll have it taken away, along with other junk.
Had a quick thunderstorm pass by, lots of rain with it. Now it’s just raining lightly. Hope the worst is over.
I just relaxed this morning, did some recipe browsing looking for healthy recipes for 1 or 2 servings. Found a few I might try out.
Nothing else going on.
Enjoy your day

Joyce, glad to hear that you enjoyed your first WW workshop. I only joined WW for a 10 week session. I went to several different meetings and at both of them the leaders had more weight to lose than I did. One of the meetings the leader discussed a lot of things except WW. When the 10 weeks were up I did on-line for 3 months and since then (2008) I have just been winging it myself. Our town will pick up 2 bulky items per week, we just have to call and arrange for the pick-up. We were able to get rid of our complete deck and shed by putting some out every week.
Ruth, thanks for the update on Ann. Hope she heals quickly. We don’t have everything spelled out for the boys but except for a few nice pieces of furniture I think most of it will just go to Habitat or a similar agency. Both boys have the same tools that Bill has so they can either donate or give to a friend who might need them. We still have a few things from both DSs but they have taken most of their items.
We are supposed to get a bad storm starting about 5 o’clock, high winds and heavy rain. I just got back from my walk, windy out but no rain so far. The leaves (except for the oaks) have all started to change colors. With this storm I think a lot of them will come down. I hope so because Bill and I decided we would do the leaves this year. Since we had 3 vacations the money is a little tight and to have someone come in and take care of the leaves it would be about $600. With the leaf blower it isn’t so bad. He blows them into piles and I take them on a tarp to the curb, it is good exercise for me. They are saying the storm could bring about power outages so I want to go find a few flashlights.
