Becky, my little male cat loved hugs, but he was a little lover kitty. We have a mail prescription service, so no reminders but we get 3 month refills, so that’s nice. I am glad you are liking freestyle. I am interested to hear about the changes.
Kathy, yes, the picture is sideways. On my app it is right side up but when I uploaded it, it flipped. I hope all went well at the optometrist. VA would be lots different than FL, but any internship would be great for DN.
Liz, how are you doing in the stormy weather? I hope you get a walk outside today. Your area would have a lot more different MR systems than we have here. We have two main health care systems. I thought the same thing about blood thinners. With the foul weather it is a good thing you went to the grocery yesterday. and you didn’t have to commute. I hope you continue to take care of yourself.
Karen, how was Osteo today? Did the knees make it hard again or did the adjustments help? What did you get at TJ? I will have to take a good look at the ears of doggie the next time I see the Bassett commercial. Looks like the Yanks and Astros may get to play tonight. Once again we are on opposite sides of the fence on this contest.
Linda, what a relief to have only one set of eye drops to deal with. What are the odds Bob will go for the adjustment on his one eye? Wow, I can’t believe someone kept a barred window intact for all these years. Quite a temperature difference from last year!
The cabbage soup turned out well. I liked it better before I put in the vinegar the recipe called for but the sour cream toned it down a little. I have tried substituting Greek yogurt for sour cream but it just doesn’t taste right. It is just a TB of it, so I don’t worry about it and I don’t have it very often. Today I am making spaghetti Bolognese for Iggy. I will skip the meat sauce but he likes it. I prefer marinara sauce. His birthday is Sunday and we are going to his favorite pizza place on Saturday, but I always make spaghetti on or around his birthday and today is the day. It is lots colder today and cloudy. Right now it is only 47° and we are going down to the 30s tonight. I have the heat set at 65° and it popped on for the first time early this morning.
The laundry is calling me, so I am going to dash. Have a good one.

Good afternoon gals and thanks for the start Karen.
Chele - you're right on point with the spaghetti bolognese as today is National Pasta Day. Glad the cabbage soup came out well and I think you can slide for a tablespoon of sour cream. I am making chicken noodle soup in the IP finally. It poured last night approx. 2"+ of rain. It's chilly and windy today, overcast and low 50s. I walked a bit earlier today in case of showers that may still happen. Sent email to surgeon's office for the clearance letter to work from home.
Linda - wow on the temp temp difference year over year. Sounds like you had a busy and productive day yesterday. How are your sinuses doing today? Good news on the eye drop frequency being less.
Becky - was chuckling about the truth of hugging the kitties due to their claws. I am not a cat fan simply because I was scratched terribly by 2 of them as a child and that wariness never left me. I'm a bit sore today as we did side step exercises in PT and that is an area of weakness I am aware of from trying to use both legs on my home stairs. I hope you're able to resolve the Garmin syncing with the app.
Kathy - how did you do with the eye doctor? Any projects looming on the horizon for you that you might now have time to enjoy? I agree with all that if DN ended up in VA he may well discover a whole new meaning to winter .
Karen - happy the rain didn't affect Dale's trail run. How was Osteo; did the previous adjustments help? How did the knees do? What did you end up buying at TJs? There are no TJs close to us so I think its been years since I've visited one. Nice for you to have a mellow morning with Arya. Obviously, each time the Bassett commercial comes on, I think of you and Arya.
I'm off to get my soup on and the ice packs off. Have a safe and good day all. Ciao for now~

Chele, DN will be happy if he gets any of the jobs. The KSC one would save him money since he could still live in his apartment here and commute. The others would probably be a bit more exciting. No new problems at the optometrist which is a good visit for me. No change in my prescription either, so they can just mail me my new contacts. He moved to an office way on the west side of town, so I'm glad I don't have to go back for a while. Wow on your temperatures dropping so much. It was 86 when I went out today and I see an 89 in our forecast. Ugh!
Liz, the eye doctor visit went okay, so I was glad to get it out of the way. The current project is DM's BD party, lol. DS drove me to the eye doctor and we went to Party City afterwards to look at a few things. I think some of the stuff will be cheaper at Costco, so she's going to compare before buying supplies. DN *thinks* he would like to experience winter. He goes to visit DBIL's family in MI around Christmas, but I think it's different when you're on vacation for a few days and when you have to commute in it every day. Hope your soreness doesn't last too long.
Waving to all. Have a good evening!

Linda, I went to Trader Joe's today and got several things that I needed but no apple cider donuts in stock . It was right around lunch time and it was nuts! The store isn't very large, so that didn't help. I was surprised at how reasonably priced some things were. I had just seen the 2-pack of tofu at Earth Fare for $3.29 and the TJ's brand was only $1.99. I also got a bag of TJ's Cruciferous Crunch because it was an ingredient in a soup I put in the IP for dinner, and no other store seemed to have anything similar. Soup was good. TJ's is about 15 minutes out of my way from Osteo, but worth the trip. Just wish I could go at a different time of day. How are you feeling? You had a busy day yesterday so I hope you got some rest today. Where I grew up, we usually had a few 39+ inch snowfalls every winter, so I understand why you put up with the heat to avoid the snow. Glad your cabbage soup was good, Chele. I know what you mean about Greek yogurt not being an adequate substitute for sour cream. It just doesn't have the right tang. This is good spaghetti weather. Our heat hasn't kicked on yet but may tonight. What's special about Iggy's favorite pizza place and what do you get there? Osteo went well. In fact, I had a personal best on a machine that has given me problems since day one. I'm up to 41% progress since I started and shooting for 50% by the end of the year. I let the knees do a little "snap, crackle, pop" at low resistance and it seemed to fade away. Yes, I guess we will be rooting for different teams tonight and for the rest of the ALCS. Looks like they will be back in action tonight since the rain has moved out. Becky, I read an article about NW Austin in Business Insider. OMG! It's not even close to the place we moved from in the 90s! Talk about insane!! How was the IP soup, Liz? You really did get poured on from the storm. Did you get more rain today? Hope you bundled up for that a.m. walk. Did you hear from the surgeon's office? Is there any reason to think he won't give approval for a telecommute? It's probably been 5+ years since I've been to a TJ's because there isn't one any closer. I did go to their website about a year ago to request that they build one around here but never heard back from them. We've been seeing that basset commercial a lot this week. Arya doesn't seem to care for it. Kathy, congrats on the good eye exam. Great to have no Rx change so you don't have to change anything. LOL on DN thinking he wants to experience winter. I hope if he ends up in VA he won't have to drive in snow or ice. The VA coast is a little warmer than inland, but sometimes it's not nice. I remember one year in the late 80s they got over a foot of snow in one day. That would be a taste he would get tired of quickly. You're right about the difference between a week's vacation and a daily commute. What kind of car does he drive? Are there things for DM's party that Dollar Tree or another dollar store might have? When I was at the dentist the other day, my hygienist said she had been in Gatlinburg last weekend and it was bumper to bumper traffic and they have a bunch of those liquor/moonshine tasting places that have sprung up and the drunks are everywhere because they just go from place to place to place. I have about a mile of downtown to go through tomorrow to/from GSMNP and the leaf people will probably also be there so I'm not looking forward to that part of the drive. I was a bit surprised Osteo went well because I was really tired this morning for some reason. We've been staying up later to watch most of the Rachel Maddow Show and I think it keeps me from going to sleep right away thinking of all the political crap going on right now. I hope I'll sleep a bit better tonight so I can enjoy my hike tomorrow. After the hike, I will go to a workshop on lichens, which we have on a lot of oak trees in this area. I hope the presenter will know a little about how they might affect mushroom production on oak logs because that's a big concern for me. I hope the visitors' center isn't as crazy as it was the last time I was there. My plan is to do the entire 3.8 miles of the trail and I'll have about half a mile from the parking lot to and from the trail, so I'll be over 4 miles.

Thanks for the start Karen.
Chele Marcie will let me kiss her on the top of her head but she is very laid back.I wouldn't even attempt to hug KK.She is grumpy a good part of the time.LOL.I'm glad you liked your cabbage soup.
Liz I'm sorry you were scratched so badly by cats as a child.Ever since we brought KK home she liked to knead in my tummy and it used to hurt so I don't let her on me any more. She lays on the arm rest of my recliner when she wants attention.I had trouble with the Garmin app again but it finally resolved itself.
Karen Yes Austin has gotten insane especially with the homeless problem Gov Abbott is threatening to send in extra agencies if the Austin mayor doesn't do what he wants.
Linda Feel better soon.
