Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend still least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good afternoon,
Busy morning. Went for a haircut this morning. Keeping the sides the same so hair will grow out a bit. Had the back and my bangs cut. He threw in some nice layers, he’s great with my hair.
Had my class at the Y yesterday. The topic was goal setting. We were asked to set a long term goal, then add thoughts of how we think we’ll feel when we reach that goal, and what type of reward we are planning. Then we setup smart goals ... small steps we are willing to do to achieve our goal. The goals can be changed whenever we decide we need to - they had to be specific, measurable and achievable. We broke up into groups and discussed, then shared our smart goals. Mine was to get back to walking. It’s been a while since I really walked consistently so my goal was to walk 8000 to 10000 steps, at least 5 days a week, for 1 month. One girl wanted her smart goal to be to track everything she ate, every meal, every day for a year. Our facilitator had us discuss this option, we thought it would be too difficult to achieve so she changed it from a year to until the end of the program. Makes so much more sense. It was a good class and I think everyone who decided to stick with the program is going to benefit.
Sabres won last night. I watched part of the game, but west coast games are too late and I would probably fall asleep on the recliner.
Heading to the basement for some CBing.
See ya tomorrow

Joyce, that sounds like a wonderful class and leader. I’m sure you will get a lot of information and help from the class. Good luck with getting back to walking.
Ruth, sorry to hear that Carol is still having so many problems. Will keep her and her medical team in my prayers. Good job on the walk. Hope Stan will keep the hearing aids, mine really help but will not make my hearing perfect. I think I will look into a new set next year. My insurance covers at least $2500.00 of the cost. Have a good trip to see your older DD and family.
We had a scare here last night. Bill went down to the basement and missed the last step on his way back upstairs. He landed on his left knee and was in lots of pain. Fortunately there doesn’t appear to be any major damage. He couldn’t get up and I was trying to help him, he weighs over 100 lbs more than I do so it was a struggle for both of us. I was just trying to give him some support not pull him up. All in all it took about 10 minutes before we were able to get him in a chair. I hope this makes him realize that he has to be more careful on steps and do something about his weight. I have actually seen him check his phone when walking up or down steps – UGH!!! We both spent over 2 hours working in the back yard, it looks good, but there are still lots of leaves on the trees. Bill used the riding lawn mower and I picked up sticks and worked on cutting down some of my perennials. I will probably go back out tomorrow and pick up more sticks, once the leaves were gone I saw some of the sticks I missed picking up.

Good morning from Wisc. Uneventful drive down except for Stan’s AFib rearing up it’s ugly head right before we left. Getting more frequent and he’s still getting it, so I’m guessing he’s going to end up with a tune-up ablation. I wish they would do it sooner rather than later so that I can drive still. Otherwise I’ll have to get one of the kids to drive us.
We saw 2 of the 3 DGDs last night and 2 of the boyfriends. Today we are going to go visit the twins at their new home. They moved out of a very small 2 bedroom condo into a house where they have the main floor and the basement and someone else has the upper floor. We never saw the other place, so they want us to see this place. DGD Kira is car shopping. She got rear ended over a month ago by a 16 year old girl. Kira stopped at a crosswalk to a jogger to pass; the high school girl wasn’t paying attention and shoved Kira’s car 50 feet past the intersection. So that tells you she was probably speeding!! Then her family refused to deal with their own insurance company for over 3 weeks. The girl had a probationary license and we figure her parents weren’t happy with what their new rate would be. They finally did and her insurance company paid for Kira’s car. She hit it so hard that it pushed the back in a couple inches. It was still drivable, but repairs were more than the car was worth. Not sure if Stan will go with or not. He doesn’t want to buy until next spring and I doubt he’ll buy used. He doesn’t do repairs himself so he likes the full warranty.
We are going out to eat tonight for their birthdays. Not sure if it’ll be 2 or 4 of us.
Going to get off here and visit. Have a good day all.
UPDATE as I didn’t see your posts before I hit send!!!
Joy, that class sounds wonderful. WW needs to do more of that kind of thing. I’m going to sit down and do some of that thinking and goal setting.
Dottie, how scary for you and Bill. Stan doesn’t mess with his phone when driving, but he keeps looking at his Apple Watch! I got after him a couple times on the drive down yesterday for doing it. So happy to hear Bill didn’t do any damage to his new knees. I worried about mine when I fell up the stairs (thankfully carpeted) hauling clothing upstairs before our bath remodel.
I’m guessing Stan is going to return these hearing aids and get the same model but w/o the Apple compatibility. They are messing with the Bluetooth connection on his phone. He’s having to totally delete the app from his phone multiple times a day and then re-install and he won’t do that long term. He likes the hearing aids themselves and thinks they are helping. Time will tell what he’ll do.
