This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Good morning everyone.
Just getting us started here. I'm getting ready and will head out in a bit for the weekly grocery shop. It's a chilly 44 outside this morning. Yay!
I'll check back later.

Well, I'm back from the grocery shop, and everything has been put away. It's crisp and cool and quite lovely here today. The lake and river were absolutely beautiful when I crossed them. I pulled over at one point to take a few pictures and that's when I realized that I'd set out without my phone. That just figures, right?. Oh well. We're all set for the coming weekend and next week. Football Saturday's will be crustless pizza. We haven't had that in a couple of months, so I'm looking forward to that.
I need to go get a load of towels started. I might go ahead and do a load of clothes as well, so maybe I won't have so much to do Sunday evening.
Not much other news from here at the moment. I hope everybody is having a good Friday and is looking forward to a nice weekend.

Wow, slow day here today! I just got home from work and from visiting my staff member who had the brain bleed. He's in a beautiful rehab place with panoramic views of the Hudson River. And best of all he's made remarkable progress. He still has a trache so it's an effort to talk and sometimes a little hard to understand him but it's clear the light's on and he's very much home, sense of humor, everything. I'm just so grateful. Another staff person and I spent an hour with him and we both left feeling so good. He has to relearn how to walk, eat, and pretty much everything else but I think he's going to be able to do it! So great seeing him.
Yay it's the weekend! I don't have major plans right now. Hair cut and color tomorrow, and on Sunday may see DS and DGKs, not sure yet. I'm sure I'll find other things to do...
Enjoy the football, Lora! Glad you got your food shopping done. That lake you stopped at is so beautiful. I remember it well.
Have a good evening all.

Andi! That's a great update on your staff member! What terrific resiliency and determination he has!
Mark emailed me a little bit ago and asked if I'd be interested in a hike tomorrow. Ummm...like he even had to ask. Heck yes! So weather permitting we'll be out with the sun tomorrow and heading for the super mountainy hike that that we did last spring, that starts near the dam and follows the river. I think it's cold enough at night now that we won't have to worry about snakes...Haha. But we'll be taking our trek poles (aka snake flickers) just to be on the safe side.

Happy Friday everyone, Lora, the hike sounds great...hope you have a beautiful autumn morning for it! It was a gorgeous, cool, breezy day today, after a bit of rain yesterday. I think tonight we may have a frost, but not sure. I know tomorrow will be cold up in the mountains, at the station. I am working 8a to 8p again. I will be busting out my heavy work clothes for this shift! Enjoy the football tomorrow. I know you will make something delicious! Susie, how to fix the barn is the million dollar question. I don't know if it will be possible, but if not, it needs to come down. I have to figure out what to do with the stuff that is still in it, but I will figure out something. I just don't want it to be a hazard for my neighbors because it is closer to them than it is to me, the way the property line runs. Glad you and DH both had such a nice time! Andi, I have been wondering about your co-worker...I am so glad that he is out of danger now, and recovering. He has such strength of spirit and so much support, that I really think he will do great even though it is a long, slow recovery. He has a lot to live for, and it makes a big difference sometimes. What a great report. I hope you like your haircut tomorrow. I know you had some issues before, but it seemed like you were liking it better. Not much else going on here, just getting ready for work tomorrow. I have YDD's dog with me tonight because she and her BF went to Philly for the weekend. My little dog is so happy he is here to play with her! She missed him. I'm glad they will have each other to play with tomorrow while I am away at work for so long. Hopefully, it won't be as crazy as last weekend, but if so, it makes the shift go faster. I may make it back here tomorrow, but I never know! I hope everyone has a good weekend and good weather, RobinMD
