Good morning!
My last wake up in TX today. Flying home this afternoon and then driving to a meeting in Sonoma (wine country--but I am in meetings all day Monday and until I leave on Tuesday so....). This visit to Deloitte University has been pretty amazing--a large company like this really puts a lot of thought into how they support employees to be better at the work that they do and they make every effort to offer the comforts needed to make it all work (food, activities, exercise options). It has been an experience! Last "longer" run was yesterday and my Deputy Supt got up super early (4:30 am) to run with me around here --we had headlamps) It was good though since we sat ALL day (8:30 am - 9:30 pm). LONG days here and I will sleep well tonight (I hope--not in my own bed).
So, today is Self-Respecting Sunday. What do you do to show respect for yourself? We ALL have something amazing to offer out there in the universe and we need to take care of ourselves, be patient and kind with ourselves. So, today think of ways that you will take CARE of yourself and show yourself some respect!

Good Morning! Almost started us out but saw our Gabrielle got right to it! lol Self-Respecting Sunday. Sounds like a bit of a Southern drawl there but we can go with it LOL It is still very dark outside (7:15 AM) so still waiting for the sunrise before venturing outside for my Sunday paper. Started my laundry. DH and I had a deal a few years ago when I had my TKR surgery that he would carry his laundry hamper downstairs to help - he's slipping lately - keeps saying he 'forgot' as his hamper is overflowing and very HEAVY - I keep suggesting he either bring it down when it's half full OR use an empty laundry basket to take out some of the heavier items. Nope. He just keeps hoping I will do all of it which I refuse, thank you very much. So for now, I have nothing to toss in the washer. His choice. Temps today are higher than they have been- 50s - but Friday we had a Frost Advisory so after work I brought in my front porch rocking chairs and furniture as they are wood and I wasn't sure if the freezing temps would crack the wood. Not taking chances there - Yesterday I meant to get here and next I knew I was wandering the internet, peeked a bit at FB, and wandered into the other room and watched a movie with DD23 Carly - bam! It was 10:00 am and I needed to get moving!! lol

Carole: How did the Corn Chowder come out? Sounds yummy! Glad that the electricity issue is resolved. We had our 3-day outage about 1 1/2 weeks ago and there is a rumor of another next week. Ours are intentional--the electric company is not wanting power lines to start fires in the event of dry winds, etc. VERY frustrating for alot of us in CA. I hope that you really did stay home....you did, right? Understandable about wanting a break from the family dinner today. Wow, January 2nd seems SO far away! Sounds like sleep studies are specialize or not very important? Glad to hear that one of Matt's medical providers is taking charge to get things done and make the appointments efficient. Whatever it takes is right. Yes, getting excited for our trip to DC! Dinner will be fun! Looking forward to meeting both Todd and Lise and SO glad that you, Ken and Tracy are coming to DC and will be with us! I need my Carole fix!
Sue: Love the stories of the boys and eating you out of house and home, LOL. So nice that they could all be together! Yes, those darned SB Anthony dollars are so confusing! I know that I have accidentally used them as quarters at multiple places in the past. So, $2.00 a tooth, huh? Good to know! So glad that you FINALLY have some time at home after so much travel. Sometimes it is just good to be home!
Jenny: Loved the Homecoming pictures! The kids are all growing up so quickly and Audrey looked beautiful and so happy!
Okay, signing off. Need to get ready, pack, get my bag stored at the front desk, etc. Might be on here from Sonoma tomorrow morning or will check in tonight. Eating hasn't been too bad (did try some Bread Pudding last night--yum!). Have a good day!

Gabrielle - sounds like a great training/class you experienced! Yes, yes, yes, I totally agree we have to take care of ourselves first! We are so good saying it but hmmm, I for one am not so good following it! lol Safe travels to you today as you embark on the next leg of your trips. I forgot what was in Sonoma for your work?
So today I will focus on two main things: household budget/pay few bills, and 2. do a landscape project I've been itching to get at which is majorly prune our two very large front yard bushes. I have been watching youTube videos and researching the best way to do this and think I've got a good plan. Meanwhile DH wants to just yank them out all together and start over with something new. I just want to try my idea first and if next summer they don't look healthy we can yank them out.
Sue - hoping your DH got his vines all clipped and ready to harvest the sweet potatoes. Yep, rain is being forecasted here for Monday night and all of Tuesday. I have been following the weather just to see if maybe, just maybe, we'll have a string of warm Fall days I can try to stain my new porch. Ehhh, not so sure it'll happen until Spring. Which is fine. I really need to put some thought into this project.
Carole - well, it does sound like you will have much more laid back weekend then thought at first. Yay!! Yep, sounds like you may need to regroup emotionally and set yourself up with a good plan. Does journaling help you? That is better news for your Matthew. And maybe he too needs some time at home just to regroup and take care of a few things. He works for the same bank as you but a different building, right? Or is that Tim? I mixed them up I think...
Our hair stylist just finished her final round of cancer treatment (stomach lining cancerous tumors, very fortunate only on inside not spread) and had a cute video the nurses took of her ringing the Chemo free bell!

Good morning Gabrielle, Christine and all to come....LOVE you theme of the day choice Gabrielle! We all do need to respect ourselves but I know sometime I feel I fall short of deserving it...I know it's a mindset that I myself need to break through....
Gabrielle....you time in TX sounds like it was long days but very rewarding in the information presented....always nice to come home feeling like it was worth the time, $$ and energy you put into it! Glad you had some company, with a lamp to help guide your way, yesterday on your long run....hard to believe the marathon is right around the corner! I know it would be nice to be sleeping in your own bed tonight....hopefully it will be a very restful night anyway!
Christine....I almost started today too....got up, saw no one had started but then got side-tracked and by the time I sat down here again Gabrielle had gotten us going! It wasn't dark when I got up but it sure is gloomy....supposed to rain all day today until about 7:00 pm....break in the rains tomorrow so hopefully the sweet potatoes will be out by dark tomorrow night...the patch is ready! If not, the balance will have to be taken out Wednesday or Thursday as the rain you are getting tomorrow is coming our way on Tuesday! Jason is beyond frustrated having to deal with the rain....he knew it was a risk waiting until we got home and as I said...it's "biting him in the caboose" now! Our temps aren't too bad now...but Thursday we had frost that actually "nipped" a few things....the gloomy, dreary weather now just makes it feel miserable...only 51° right now and not to get much higher today!
LOL Christine...love that you are sticking to your guns and not bringing Gary's laundry downstairs...sounds like multiple excuses as to why he doesn't do it especially after you offered a few alternate solutions to the heavy, overflowing hamper he currently is dealing with! Oh well, he might just have to do his own???
Gabrielle...it was very nice to be home all day yesterday....while I'm not excited about going to the store today in the rain we have to drop Jason's car off at the garage anyway and I drive right by the place going to the store so I would have had to go out today anyway...that was one of the reasons I opted to just stay in yesterday! Not sense making two trips to the exact same place on two different days! Safe travels the next few days....pop in when you can, we know you are busy!!
Yup Christine...got some bills to pay today too....other than that for me it's just some laundry, making the pork loin for the week and maybe some egg muffins....haven't made them in a while and a "hot breakfast" sounds good as the days get chilly. Even though I didn't think I did much yesterday, I really did get a lot of little stuff done so really not much left to accomplish to be ready for the week to begin. No, I didn't completely unpack....that's for another day....not a necessity, heck, I can leave the suitcase on the bed until we leave to head to David's for Thanksgiving for that matter....no one will need that bed anyway and the door is closed so no one sees it since we don't heat that room in the winter anymore unless someone is coming and will stay in there! One advantage to having individual thermostats in every room!
Time to grab some breakfast then off to the store I go!

Good morning! Self respecting is lounging right now. Waiting to see if Greg wants to do church. Still need to do dishes from last night and a load of laundry. Trying to put together a group of fav pics from August wedding. They are in Dropbox but still slow to load even on our computer.
Need to deal with my hair. Try to catch up later! Happy Sunday to all!
