Good morning - how can we WORK IT WEDNESDAY?? I am not even going to pretend that I will make goals and follow through today or tomorrow - way too much going on right now! Mostly work - work... add to that I haven't even thought about packing for Friday yet! UGH! Gotta see if I can find weather for DC this weekend... do I want long jeans, or will capris be OK for down there?? Will I need rain gear?? So many questions - no time/motivation to figure this put!! While I DO look forward to getting away - I do not feel motivated to get ready... does that make any sense???
We had the fajitas last night for dinner - today and tomorrow will be clean out the fridge meals! LOL I had some lettuce, chicken, black beans and cheese so I threw together a small salad for lunch today. I also have a butternut squash soup - and an apple and almonds... my protein bar for breakfast...oh and a protein shake, so I have plenty for breakfast - lunch - snacks today!
So let me top off my coffee and catch up here... you all have been my best friends and saving grace this past week! ♥hugs♥

Christine: Well we seem to have your rain last night and today... we too were in the 70s on Monday, yesterday was high 60s... this morning is 52, but with the rain it "feels" cooler - just "damp" and still so dark out there... glad you enjoy your quiet mornings too!
Thank you - yes... my weekend was very peaceful - mostly relaxing - and even productive... in a slow/lazy kind of way! LOL Yes - while I am getting caught up - it isn't all "great" news... the settlement is getting done - but not balancing to -0- like it should... oh well, I can carry differences for a while and maybe (JUST MAYBE) get Crystal to take a look at those days and see what she can find! It is sooooo hard to explain - but this new settlement "procedure" is so "gray"... balancing should be black & white... no gray areas... but this - this is awful!! Even Crystal and Amanda see that - but they have no answers either!
Hmmm, how's Matt doing? Well... he's not a talker... and I don't ask a lot of questions - as I don't want to worry him more than he must already be... WHEN I ask, "how are you?" I get... "OK"... "Still trying to process it all"... "trying to remain positive"... DDIL is... how do I say this??? She and her Mom (Kathy) are not overly "emotional" or "sentimental" people... she was pretty matter-of-fact when they first told us... she HAS "googled" and read some things... but she didn't share a lot... I have sent a group email, and have asked them to respond "all" today after the appointment - so we all get the same news, without having to make 5 phone calls! I also heard from my sisters - that he isn't supposed to be eating much these days... mostly liquid diet - HE had not told us that part... not sure when he found that out - and I know he didn't mean anything by sharing with them and not us - but I gotta tell ya'... I want all of us to be on the same page here! Anyway -hoping to hear this afternoon what the next step is.
Yes - thank you... I know it will be a fun night... I just need to get over the initial "meeting" everyone... and yes I believe Lise will be a fun person!
LOL Oh well, the shrub might look awful, but hey it's almost winter - it isn't supposed to look great! As for pulling it in the spring - IF he has to, at least there is less to tangle with now! GOOD JOB CHRISTINE!!!
OH Christine - don't ya' hate it when the "boss" cowtows (?) to the loud mouths?? UGH! Good luck - we know you WILL stay "late" to keep the peace!I agree when our lunches are done on the fly - while others have the "extended" breaks - it is very unsettling!

Sue: Hope the bloodwork and flu shot went OK... it's funny, I must be so used to shots now, that they don't even phase me any more! I will say I have been taking my Airborne more lately... with whatever the heck is falling on everyone at work - I do NOT need it...
Lisa: YAY for DS getting a job offer... sounds like a job that SHOULD be a higher salary! Yikes! Hope it works out for him - fingers crossed!
Tracy is ready to accept the offer. Getting into a "town" position at her age will be a huge benefit in itself. Her retirement will be easier - with the County Retirement/Pension - as well as better insurance! For a girl like her that is a huge deal right there! Oh and the insurance is a little less expensive... and no union dues... and no worries of them "closing up shop" - like her current company did with their dispatch center. There are still "rumblings" about the company even closing the local facility and moving them all to the Springfield "base" which would be a 1 hour commute each way! This is more local... from here about a 30-40 minute commute but with 2 brothers houses nearby - during bad weather... it makes more "sense". So I believe today she will accept the job - the woman doing the hiring said she will negotiate a little higher salary... but meanwhile, I think she will give her notice today at AMR, and we go from there!
She is willing to do per-diem work with AMR - especially during her training at dispatch - if they want her to. Training is strictly days - and her schedule is mostly nights... so she can still work out her 2 weeks and start her training if they want....
Oh dear, 5 AM shut off of power?? That would put a definite crimp in my day around here!!
Where did you end up for dinner??? I so wish I lived in an area with "Choices"!
Gabrielle: OH MY! You are on your way to the airport now?? Oh no, another hour... safe travels today! Is the other couple flying with you too?? Or are you meeting in DC?? I can't wait to hear about the house you rented... Are you renting a car when you get there? Or is it on the metro line so you can just shuttle to the hotel and then do public transportation?? Have fun!! YES Traveling WITH someone is certainly more fun than alone!! SO glad you had yesterday/last night home to prepare a decent meal!!
Thanks... I am more mindful of what I am eating these days - without tracking or journaling... but... I am also not as "hungry" as usual... maybe it's the emotional stuff going on, or MAYBE ? ? It's the fasting is finally teaching me to know when I really am hungry??? That's what I hope it is!
Yes, I am excited to see you Friday too! Have your camera ready! ♥

Sue: YAY for you and your walking during the day - moving matters! LOL Me - well - not so much... I just can't!I need every minute I can get - at my desk - to get this crap caught up! Next week we head into another new month - and I am already feeling behind!! With Debbie out - and Kaitlin's vacation "looming"... it's just the "Dread" of it all! Still HOPING Debbie is only out the 2 weeks! Heard from her yesterday - she and her DH are both staying with his sister! Still no word on further surgeries, but she is still "in pain"... and not eating much! I can only hope she is back on the 4th as she said she would be! Then she is scheduled for that Friday off - I am hoping she cancelled it, but I am certain she did not! It's her annual scrapbooking weekend at the Cape!
Yeah - I knew all that about FSA, and had forgotten we have the $500. rollover this year! We didn't put enough in it to have any roll over anyway! Yup, the only thing with HSA is you can't pay for anything in January! IF I do the sleep study - they will have to wait for their money! LOL Oh I think last year we were told starting this year there would be NO FSA, only HSA... so much to think about! Truthfully though for all Ken's meds and all what I went through this year - there is no way I could have planned that much out of each paycheck! It IS that time of year again - we will soon be getting our insurance crap for the new year... I will need time to read and try to make a decision... I do NOT like having to choose - I always feel I will choose the wrong one!!!
I do know I need to be more diligent about the oils - Tracy has a better grasp on all of that... I will have her research and see if I can't do something for Matt's house!
Thanks - I know I am not the only one thinking about the deductibles involved...
Shelly: Oh no! Sorry that girl is turning on you and your makeup! I think you will have more folks stay with you - due to the company being USA... that is important to so many folks - keeping the $$ in the US but also KNOWING what's IN IT!?!?? Good luck GF!
OH WOW! At least I won't worry about snow in DC this week! LOL Sorry you may have it - UGH I am so not ready for that!!

Mornin' Christine - UGH Sorry about your post... hate when that happens!
Now I must get moving - want to get an extra 1/2 hour to an hour today... oh and didn't get my injections yesterday - a mix-up on my vials! So got out of work early for nothing! Was so "defeated" that I didn't even bother driving back upstreet to go back in for the 40 minutes...
They may call today or tomorrow - and if I can scoot out I will, but I may have to just wait til nest week! Getting kinda sick of this whole medical world I am in right now!!
Hope you all have a great day - and can WORK IT WEDNESDAY - ♥hugs♥

Morning Carole, Christine and all to come...going to try and catch up a little bit this morning...got a few minutes and Jason is not here yacking my ear off! Last night I got started, then Jason came home and it was one thing after another...he would walk away, I'd start typing again and he was back! I was getting so annoyed I just got up from the computer and quit trying to catch up! Hopefully tonight he will head right outside to work on the sweet potatoes and leave me alone....
Gabrielle...that was very sweet of the superintendent to call and talk while you drove to make sure you were awake...he knew you had a long full weekend and then right back to traveling. I'm sure no weekend will catch up eventually but maybe with your long weekend in DC this weekend you won't miss it....since you were not home this week no real planning was needed for many meals at home. Yes...your "insight" on the "rushed progress" of appointments, test, etc for Matt is spot on...I was thinking the same thing just from my nursing background. By getting the wheels in motion it does give time for 2nd opinions and extra insight on any diagnosis is a good thing!
Yes, Jason finally got the BUMPER crop of sweet potatoes out and the baskets are in the garage now....they need to be laid out on cardboard to let the skins dry/cure before storing and selling. Problem was yesterday it rained all day and our garage leaks on the one side of the door....Jason had to sweep that out and get the area dried. Hoping tonight he can get a lot of them done...the sooner they get done the sooner I get back in the garage. This is the only time of year I have to park outside.
Shelly...glad you got to pop back in! Sorry about the filling...that does seem odd for the fillings to come out so easily with only a water pick?!?! Fingers crossed for Keeley and her title competition this weekend....hopefully she goes in confident and all will fall into place. Is Alexis excited for her 1st competition. Enjoy time watching them! I wish we had an HSA instead of FSA but my work doesn't offer that! Maybe one day??? GMTA....I mentioned Thieves too for Matt...build up that immune system.....
Need to get moving here....will try and at least read yesterday's posts while at work at lunch so I can catch up after work!
Have a great day all.....

Good morning! Had clothes picked out but noticed that stripes on a white shirt with stripes had blue marks by the blue stripes...don't know if that's from the shirt itself or something I washed with it? Anyway, had to pick something else. I have a giraffe shirt on today, so feeling kind of fun!
Carole-oh I usually don't have motivation to get going most days...probably all that you have going on. I let myself lounge for awhile and then just start going and I usually get with it after awhile. Sorry work procedures have been more difficult.
Sue Yay for the bumper crop of sweet potatoes. Yes dealing with storage and the like is probably a temporary thing to deal with.
Gabrielle-more safe travels...so neat that you are meeting up with Carole.
Christine-I've lost long posts too that's why I don't like posting from my phone so much.
Shelly-sorry the chick baled on you and then went solo with not so nice comments about your products. I wouldn't worry because usually good customers stay where they are happy at.
I offered to work afternoons this week because obviously I'm not going to have time to look for all the files in 2 different places, get them ready for storage, and also know that they are still processing separations which will be more to look for. If they don't get approval for the extra hours, that's fine. I was trying to be a good team player. I also felt weird when one of the reminder email recipients replied that the director of extra help had approved her employee not having to take their month break after 900 hours. It was copied to the staff member who deals with non-clerical jobs like that one, so will need to ask her how to reply, if a reply is even needed. Friday is the file clean day and I think that is when they are moving older files out of the basement and moving the ones we have pulled out of the main records area to the basement. THe main records area has 3 sections of compact shelving. It is actually easy to find files in it. So I will be doing a lot of standing today and moving in the record room. Great for work it Wednesday. Then come home and finish cleaning the big bathroom. Got the shower done yesterday. I will never let it go that long again!
Gotta run...have a wonderful Wednesday! TRy to be back later.

Evening all....busy but productive day at work but nothing out of the ordinary!
Someone mentioned risotto at work and made me hungry for it so at lunch I googled IP risotto....SO easy, SO fast and SO yummy! Took me a little extra time because I opted to dice up a small butternut to add....OMG I will never stand over the stove stirring, stirring, stirring again! Never thought it would get the creaminess in the IP but it did! Now to catch up from Tuesday.....Jason is in the garage so hopefully he won't bother me tonight! LOL!!
Carole....a lot on your plate these days, the tracker will be back out and you will be back taking good care of you..... What great news for Tracy....it sounds like that are a lot of pros to taking the new position even if it does mean she has to put the house hunting on hold for a bit...no, Matt's current situation can NOT be the reason she takes the new position....she needs to look at this opportunity with only her health, her habits, her lifestyle as the factors. Other advantage/disadvantages will come and go...she has to look at the big picture w/o the added circumstances.
WOW....can't believe that only Matt's godmother, Debbie responded to the email about his diagnosis....that amazes me! I get it that Ken's side is not close and has it's issues but their nephew just got the diagnosis of cancer.....who doesn't even acknowledge the news???
Carole...when dad got his diagnosis, he sought a 2nd opinion and all agreed on the original mode of treatment...just having the reassurance that everyone is on the same page is comforting no matter where the final treatment facility might be....I hope he seeks out another opinion....
Thankfully my drive home is only about 10 minutes....the eye doctor is right near Sarah's house so it's a quick trip home....our eye doctor just got the new machine to take the pictures of your eyes and I think this is just the transition time until they are confident that either option is fine and we no longer have to have them dilated.
Carole....Sarah Morello's youngest daughter is only 3...she uses Thieves on her all the time....I know she was doing a bunch of info on her page last week or maybe this week about oils and kiddos.....her girls both have diffusers in their rooms at night and the girls have their "roller routine" each day.....Thieves is a staple this time of year to try and boost your immune system and keep the germs from jumping on you!
WOW Christine....we hit high 60's on Monday but no 70's on my corner of the state! Yesterday was miserable and today is a perfect fall day....mid 60's and sunny! We have a string of nice days ahead! LOL....Carly and Gary's "take" on your pruning efforts crack me up! I hope the bush looks beautiful come spring time just to prove them wrong. Oh....about the potatoes....Bob, the friend that helps down at the lot brings is tractor over and it has a "fork" type thing he can mount on the front and he goes under the section of the row and lifts the ground to loosen up the sweet potatoes....then Jason picks them up! This year Ann, Sarah's godmother, came with Bob to help out now that she is retired. Kellen came out and helped for a while too....not hard but a lot of bending and picking up....sometimes you have to "scoop" a couple times to get them all to lift but it is much faster than digging with a shovel like his dad used to do.....still a BIG job but the tractor definitely saves a ton of time getting the out!

OYE VEY Christine....the Queen Bee and Barbie really are full of themselves aren't they. The Prince is at least "sort of" on your side! Fingers crossed by next week life will be more "normal" and manageable for you!
OK...quick DM update....she had a cardiologist appointment last week and the doctor thinks she has early congestive heart failure and based on so additional details Jim and Annie provided he is confident that is the case so he scheduled an echocardiogram for this week and then a follow up later this week. He did change her Coumadin to Xaralto again so she can now use NSAIDs like Aleve/Advil to help manage pain....the opiods are part of the CHF situation but DM is convinced her pain can only be managed by the high doses of opiods. When Annie was with her DM last week when she had surgery to fix a broken elbow from a fall the week before when she was doing an Alzheimer's Walk for a friend....anyway, a dear friend of Annie's mom was there and Annie noticed her hands looked similar to DM so she asked how she handled the pain....she responded "Aleve, it doesn't take it all away but enough I can function without limits....plus is I do my exercises classes and get in my walk that really helps"! It was reassuring to Annie that we are not asking for the impossible! Also this week she has her appointment with the orthopedic doctor so should get the PT consult to get that moving. She is getting more active and more mobile and independent but has a long way to go....we all hope that with the PT consult and some encouragement to get involved with the activities/classes she will gain more strength and her quality of life will improve and then the attempt to wean from the opiods can begin.....
One thing I never new was that Jim and Annie had to do a similar "intervention" with Annie's mom because her doctor just kept giving her opiods as well...with the help of the friend that Annie was talking to during the surgery, she got Annie's mom up and out to the classes, walking and gradually she too was able to wean. The problem with DM is because she has been on them for so long when the dose gets lower she gets artificial pain because of the pain sensitivity...it's not "real pain" but makes DM panic and "need" more so she thinks! I am so grateful for Jim and Annie's continued commitment to get DM to a better place in life. Kris makes no comments, just fills her FB page with all the "poor me" posts....I wish she too would "dig deep" and work on healing herself because is FAR for healthy emotionally!
Hannah is calling to FT....hope to get back later....

Well I will be working different hours on Friday but another reception day during the file cleaning day.
Making beef and noodles for dinner. Should have leftovers into the weekend.
I am having a glass of wine while I cook. Just that kind of day!
Sue-glad to hear that tractors help with sweet potato harvest. I used to help dig potatoes when I was growing up on the farm.

Evening all. Today as a little busier I’m sure due to the bad weather we are expecting. It hasn’t been to cold so things shouldn’t get to bad even if it does snow. Got my workout in this morning. Feels good to get it done first thing!!!
Carole my workout is all I did to work it!!! I really need to watch my nutrition so maybe I can start losing weight. Oh the thieves should be fine for the baby. My DDIL used thieves on Chesney’s feet everyday when she started day care after coming home from the NICU. I hope Matt decides to get a second opinion so he can know all the options. Happy that Traci will have a better opportunity with better insurance cost and all. Sounds like a better deal for her.
Gabrielle I will be thinking about you this weekend as you travel and run your race!!! Always amazed how you run marathons!!!
Sue I could not believe that sweet potato crop. Did you have that good a year with everything you planted?
Lisa so are you getting extra hours this week. Hope you get everything straightened out at work
Ok need to go find some allergy oils because for some reason something has really got to me tonight. If not I will find some allergy OTC meds. Then off to bed. TLk to you all soon
