Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend still least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
Minestrone soup turned out delicious. Itās a WW recipe. The recipe called for potatoes, I prefer pasta so I made that substitution.
Dottie - Iām sure my under sink would like a new coat of paint. I want to paint the walls that lead down the stairs to my basement once the basement is organized, Iām sure Iāll have enough paint to do under the sink too. Put that on my project list.
Basement decluttering is coming along well. Iām going to buy a few cardboard boxes at Home Depot this weekend so I can start moving the stuff out. I believe the basement organizing will be done by Spring, if all goes well. That would be a major accomplishment.
Cathy - so nice to āseeā you. Getting a few items here and there out of your house is definitely a move in the right direction.
Ruth - glad to hear the Wild won, too bad about the goalie. Sabres won last night too. So far they are undefeated at home. Itās been a great start to the season.
Prayers continue for Carol.
Going to WW workshop at noon. I think my week went well, time to see what the scale says.
Planning on spending an hour or so in the basement today. Now that Iām seeing real progress I just want to continue.
Enjoy your day.

Joyce, I agree with you that minestrone soup should have pasta in it. The paint job under the sink isnāt the greatest but it looks much brighter and cleaner now. It is a hard space to paint with all the pipes and drains. Keep up the good work in the basement.
Cathy, so good to āseeā you. I am really trying to get rid of things, the 1st and 2nd floors are looking better but not the basement. Bill has way too many tools and continues to buy more. He does use a lot of them but isnāt into big home repairs any more so Iām not sure he needs all those tools. Paperwork is still a problem for me but I am continuing to work on that a little at a time.
Ruth, sorry to hear that DSs car is totaled but it sounds like things will work out okay with DIL not needing a car for some time. It gives him time to find a good car that they can afford. Hope the toddler bed worked out okay for Mara. DS#2 fell out of his crib a few times before he was 18 months old. The crib I had for my sons was the type that one side could go down. So we left one side down so he could come and go and felt that was safer than trying to make sure he wouldnāt fall out. Once he knew he wasnāt ālockedā in it made a difference, he usually didnāt get out at night or even in the morning till Bill or I went in to check on him. Continued prayers for Carol.
It is beautiful out today. I spent a little time in the yard this morning and will go out again after I do some grocery shopping. Bill is going to use the riding lawn mower to pick up more leaves, there still arenāt a lot on the grass but they are falling faster now.

Good afternoon all. Back from the dental cleaning, no new cavities so thatās good. And our dental office is getting a 2nd dentist starting first of Nov and I can see her on the 5th for the filling replacement rather than waiting until Dec. for the regular dentist.
Stan went in this morning for an EKG since heās been in AFib since about 5:00 pm yesterday. They wanted one on file when he was in AFib to have a record of it. He also got an x-ray of his neck which is probably arthritis. Hope he gets some PT for it.
I have an appt this afternoon for my cough. Iām guessing itās from sinus but maybe they can do something about that.
Heard from Carol this morning. They want her to go to long term rehab or a nursing home for 3-4 weeks to give the new feeding tube a chance to heal w/o being used. To do that they are putting nutrition down her port, which means they canāt put her meds or chemo in the port, so that all has to be done with an IV. And she has an IV in the other hand for fluids since she was dehydrated. Sheās hoping for a home health aide, but her dr didnāt encourage that. Actually I think DBIL could use the break. Iām going to call him tonight to get all the details that are too hard to text. There is a lot going on right now.
I havenāt talked to DS today to see if heās heard from insurance co. about what theyāll pay for car and Maraās car seat. It has to be replaced too since she was in it. Not a lot of stress on it because it wasnāt a rear end collision, but why take a chance. DSās car needs to go in the shop while he has the loaner to get it ready for winter and to be safe for all of them. And I know DS will want DH to go with car shopping. They canāt afford a car loan so itās gonna be tough.
Joy, you are doing great. Bet you have a good loss this week.
Dottie, the crib we have is a drop side too (no longer legal to sell or donate) but Stan has put plastic ties on the ends to keep the side from dropping and then has duct tape over that. We may remove that when she gets used to the toddler bed. Have to talk to them to see how she did last night. We havenāt had her trying to climb out so not going to move her until we have to.
Ok, need to get a few things finished up. Will check in later.
