Thanks for the start, Karen. I hope you have thawed out. The bandanna that attaches to the collar sounds like a great idea. I hope Arya likes it. I never heard of Silipints, so I had to look them up. Cute! I thought, at first, your squash was a kielbasa and I wondered why you had a picture of one. Congrats to the āStros.
Liz, I hope you are having a good time catching up with the family.
Kathy, how are the teams doing today? The Buckeyes had a slow start.
Linda, it sounds like a nice day out and something you and Bob deserve after all you have been through.
Becky, are you having a nice day? I saw the snow in Amarillo in the Weather Channel.
Iggy returned in one piece last night. We went to a fruit orchard today and got Melrose, MacIntosh and Ida Red apples. The Melrose are huge this year. Then we went to the ATT store to look at phones. Mine is giving me fits if I let the charge get below 50%. I hadnāt done any research and only went because Iggy dragged me there. We came back with the old phone. I have to look around first. We made a quick stop at Meijer to get the fixings for tabbouleh for tomorrow. I have spent the afternoon looking at phones because it is raining cats and dogs today.
I hope everyone enjoys the rest of today.

Thanks for the start Karen.
Chele Today has been absolutely beautiful.Low of 43 and a high of 69 without a cloud in the sky.We went to town this morning and I was able to take a short walk this afternoon. What happens when your phone gets below 50%?I'm glad you found some apples.

Linda, I hadn't thought about your area's produce season being a different time than the rest of us. You should have options soon. What kind of cookie did you have for lunch? You dinner sounds wonderful. You need to check out that brewery and take the camera so you can get photos of some of the tropical birds. That might be a good subject for a future art project.
I finally thawed out about Midnight, Chele. I'm still in long pants and sleeves (Dale's still in shorts and short sleeves) but I'm doing much better than I was. I can deal with my hands being cold, but when my feet get cold, it's not good. I had never heard of Silipints either, but I have used one of mine twice so far and I love it. I had hot liquids in it and it gets just warm enough for my hands to feel good but not hot like a ceramic mug gets. It maintains the temperature as well. I may get the larger size and a lid and use it on the road. Yes, that is a butternut squash. Dale got 2 that size at the orchard last week. It barely fit in my oven, which is a large one. I got almost 12 cups out of it, so I have a batch of butternut squash soup in the IP right now and the rest is in the fridge for Arya's dinners this week. She loves it. Hope the 'Stros win again tonight. It's going to be an uphill battle with the next 2 games being in DC and needing to win 3 to take the series. Buckeyes may have started slow but, given the final score, it looks like Wisconsin decided not to show up. Oklahoma got beat. Yay! Yum on the tabbouleh. Good luck deciding what phone you want. I love Motorolas, so that at least narrowed down my choices. I got a Moto G6 and I like it. I didn't go to the Verizon store until I knew exactly what I wanted. I didn't want to be talked into anything and be sorry later. So I know where you're coming from. Sounds like a good day to be inside anyway. I don't think I've seen a Melrose apple. With our climates being different, I wonder if there are some apple varieties that grow better there and some that grow better here. Dale's family used to own an orchard near Youngstown, so he had great apples when he went to visit his cousins.
Liz, I hope you're having a safe and enjoyable trip. What do you think of SM's new place? Where did you go for lunch? Did the pups do ok while you were gone?
Amazing weather you're having, Becky. Texas is playing TCU in FW and it looks pretty comfortable there, so I figured you might be warmer. Glad you're not. Good walking weather. Did you go to the feed store this morning? You don't seem to go grocery shopping on Saturdays and I don't blame you. I don't either. Too many people.
Kathy, how's football going today? Has your front come through? We're getting some pretty good wind and may have more rain this evening.
I didn't feel like doing much today. I did cook the squash and Arya's eggs for the week, plus the soup, which was easy. And, I did 30 minutes on the rowing machine. Despite about 10 hours of sleep, I'm still feeling it from yesterday. Maybe I'll have more energy tomorrow.

Becky, nice that you have some good walking weather. Since the last update if the charge goes below 50% when I plug the charger in an error message appears āaccessory may not be supportedā and the phone won't charge. I have to turn the phone off and on until, finally, the error message does not display and the phone charges. Above 50% charge and plugged in, the error message does not display.
Karen, my feet rarely get cold but Iggy gets icy toes in the winter. He sticks them on my legs to warm them up. I can't believe flesh can get that cold. The Melrose is the official apple of Ohio and was developed here. It is a cross between a Jonathan and a red Delicious. It is very juicy, a little acidic but not tart. It seems I missed Ginger Gold season. Last time we went to an orchard it was too early and today it was too late. My favorite is the Macintosh but Ginger Gold is a close second. Lucky to have an orchard in the family. There is nothing like ripe fruit fresh from the tree.

Karen The weather was so beautiful today. It did get up to 70 with a wind so it was still very comfortable.I didn't know I was almost out of lettuce yesterday when we were at HEB so we did go back today because we needed a few other things as well. This is the perfect morning to shop at HEB because today was Hogeye Day in Elgin. When Elgin was first established for some reason it was named Hogeye and they have a big festival in downtown Elgin so with everyone else being downtown there weren't many customers in HEB.It was the perfect weather for it too.We have been a few times but it's just too crowded.Kenneth has shows he likes to watch on Saturday night so hopefully we can check out the World Series in between.Go Astros.
Chele I think I had an Android phone that did the same thing once.I love how fast my Iphone charges. If I don't wear some kind of shoes or house shoes during the cold months my feet get cold and stay cold until spring.

Linda, my soup turned out well. It's a lot like the Autumn Squash Soup at Panera, only with less sodium. I'll bet that calico kitty is adorable! You did well at the craft sale.
I wonder if it might be your charger and not your phone that's the problem, Chele. Do you have another compatible charger you could try? Might even be something simple like a dirty connection. If not, I wonder if you had a software update recently that has messed things up. I'm sure AT&T was more interested in selling you a new phone, not trying to troubleshoot the one you have. I've had Ginger Golds and they are good. I'm not sure we can grow them here.
Kathy, congrats to your 'Noles. Hope UCF can hang tough for the rest of the game.
You did pick a good day to have to go to HEB, Becky. I didn't know Elgin had a previous name. I'm glad they changed it because the previous one isn't very attractive.

No plans today, but I need to rearrange clothes in the big closet from summer stuff to fall stuff.
Italian soups last night were good with an apple and cheddar salad.

Linda, Iggy will never try cheddar with apples. He thinks I am crazy.
Karen, we have four chargers and I received the error message on all 4.
I cleaned the port out with compressed air and that didnāt work either. This morning I plugged in the phone at 79% charged and received the error. I am going to the Apple Store tomorrow and trade this phone in while I can still get some money out of it. Happy Birthday and Merry Christmas from Iggy to me a couple of months early.

Chele, I was hoping it was something simple on your phone. What phone are you planning to buy? Good luck with getting a good trade-in and a great deal on the new one. At least you know what you're getting for your birthday and Christmas . Enjoy the tabbouleh. I really need to make that again soon. What does Iggy use as the grain? I have used several different ones. I know bulgur is the traditional, but I've also had good success making it with quinoa, amaranth, and couscous. I think you are going to be cooler than us by Tuesday, Linda, but not by much. But then that's seasonal for us. The 4 P's are very important and I know you have those bases covered. Enjoy rearranging the closet. Oh, what fun (NOT!). I'm glad the soups were as good as they sounded Liz, how was the trip? You had a good football day yesterday, Kathy. UCF blew out Temple! The last I checked, the score was fairly close but it certainly didn't end that way. Michigan did very well in the 2nd half as well. Texas, unfortunately, came up short playing TCU. Didn't expect that one would be a problem. I guess you saw that Tennessee handled SC quite nicely. Four more games and if they win three, they can be bowl eligible. Not sure that will happen but at least it's possible now. Becky, I thought of Scooter in the middle of the night when we had heavy rain with 20 mph sustained winds that freaked out Arya pretty badly. We got about 1 3/4 inches of rain. Our poor pups and wind. How is your weather and is Scooter in or out these days? Second of two loads of laundry is in the dryer. We watched the rest of the Astros game this morning and Dale is working on something in the barn. The sun is shining and we are on our way to the mid 70s. Nice fall day with a little breeze.

Karen, we had the same weather last night. Iggy was planning on blowing leaves today but they are too wet. I am glad your day turned nice. Iggy uses bulgur, but he is a traditionalist. I am the same with Italian American cooking. When I first came to the area back in the mid seventies I could not find ricotta cheese in the stores around UD, so I just didnāt make lasagna. I will probably get the latest model iPhone if my trade in amount is big enough. I keep my phones for awhile so I am a few generations behind. I still have a headphone port and home button which the newest iPhones donāt have.

Karen Scooter can sympathize with Arya on the winds.Today has been another beautiful day.We dipped down briefly to 39 but that didn't last long. It's 77 now and we may get to low 80's before the next cold front.Scooter has been enjoying the beautiful weather today outside most of the day.The Astros nailed it last night.Hopefully the same will happen tonight.
Chele I thought about getting the newest Iphone but they were $45/month to Verizon. So when they had the XR for $25/month and I got a good deal on paying the phone off in a year instead of 2 years.I love it.It hasn't upgraded to IOS 13 but I like the IOS 12 just fine.I guess you will have the newest update on yours.
Waves to all.
