WORK IT WEDNESDAY...Well I slept better last night - maybe I can actually make something WORK today!? I did have almost 5k steps yesterday - had to go downstairs a couple of times - once work related, once for ME! Eating was OK, but when I got home, I was later (due to injections) and Ken had a meeting so we just had a "pick up" night for dinner... we got rid of more stuff out of the fridge! LOL
I had cheese and crackers - not the best "dinner" but I wasn't really hungry either! Tonight I can do something with the chicken...
Had a message last night that Deb (not to be confused with Debbie) is in the ER... they kept her overnight - she has A "Flutter" similar to A-Fib?? They may need to shock her heart back into normal rhythm?? WTHeck comes next for our department?! Guess I should be afraid to ask!
I was going to work this Saturday - but had forgotten we have plans to go to the used clothing sale... so maybe next week?? UGHHHHH!!!!!!
Matt called last night - he was sore from where they made the incision to implant the port... he meets with oncologist today, to discuss the chemo - when/where, etc., then Thursday he has the ultrasound... they are going away this weekend, to RI for a Comicon event... so glad they had this planned, as it may be the last weekend away for a while?!??
OK Let me refill my coffee and catch up... guess I should try another earlier start to the day!

Good Morning ~
Slept ehh last night. Woke several times to a stuffy head. I REALLY really tried to fight this cold from coming on but it got me. Yesterday I found the combination of Tylenol and Flonase helped make it manageable. But man, am I ever stiff and sore as if I'm the one that ran that marathon in DC! LOL
Did some stretches on the floor for my back and legs. Felt better but then feeling achy and sore again this morning....
Thankful to have Lindsey's empty bed to crawl into so I can be miserable in peace. LOL
Yesterday was a very busy hectic day but productive! I caught up on some paperwork, tested a student for an evaluation (2 hours), dealt with a Fire Drill, then spent entire afternoon still testing older students for Extended Time or Make ups. I am so over it...the Prince was determined to have Parents see results of the testing so I printed a nice Family Report but since it's still new to all of us it doesn't make as much sense if we had been doing the program for a year or more lol rolling my eyes...he asked I present to the Teachers how to interpret the Family Report but then he took over the presentation (fine by me) to emphasize over and over that this is the future and we have to get used to these tests. Um, I didn't want to remind him it may take years before everyone is comfortable with the new program - we JUST started using it as a pilot program last Fall...whatever...
Did my volunteer duty in late ChildCare - stayed until 6:00 - I think the Prince was supposed to be there too but as soon as he saw me on the playground he bailed...nice. I didn't mind much as I know these students and really, they are good kids.

Carole - was thinking about your Matt and how so far he and Patti seem to be independent with attending doctor appointments and such. It's great that the whole family is supportive and offer to help - I'm sure they will need you once the journey gets going...how was work yesterday? Hopefully you were able to address your own duties and pick up Deb's when possible. Doesn't sound like Crystal has much of a plan for the department with everyone being out...should be interesting how this turns out. Sue - again with the roller coaster of emotions...HUGS to you my friend. This is really hard on you and David as we all know how much you have invested in trying to help DM while Jim was off doing his thing in TX (la la la) and now that he has stepped in to the rescue he is suddenly looking to YOU to share it. Ummm...I totally get where you are coming from. So glad for David's support in seeing it your way... By the way, I meant to tell you your last Fall painting was adorable - good job! Oh, and I baked the pumpkin spice muffins you spoke about here - very yummy - hits the spot on these cooler Fall mornings. I like to pack 2 small ones for a coffee break later in the morning I also made for my first time, home made macaroni and cheese. WOW that was a LOT of cheese. Will definitely cut back on some of the ingredients as I'm not sure it was necessary lol I added thick cut bacon to the recipe which added a nice touch but ohh salty. So, will keep that all in mind - not so sure I would make it like that again - might look for a different recipe.

Gabrielle - is this week a bit more of a routine for you? I can't believe how Sonoma was on FIRE and you were just there!! How are you doing with all the fires and power outages? Thinking of you...
Jenny - sounds like DH has a plan for the removal of the cancer on his lip but I'm with you - that sounds like a long wait to actually remove it. Hope you are holding up with all that's going on in your corner -
Lisa - wow, the nerve! Who does that retired temp worker think she is?? Sounds like she needs to feel in charge and I'm sure, back in her day, that is how she ran her file room but where's the grace and courtesy? Hope you feel confident to stand up to her...seriously. Glad the kids have officially moved - sounds like it really was a big project helping them lug all their belongings to the new place. Is it nice? I heard the 'S-' word on the weather forecast - lol - it's a'coming!!
Shelly - loved your pics on FB of the granddaughters' dance awards! How is your poor eye doing?? Any improvement? I think that would drive me nuts too! Last July when my eye was all swollen from Shingles it was so annoying - I didn't want to scare anyone by how awful it looked but I couldn't hide either. Most folks just assumed I was in an accident and ignored it but seriuosly it FELT worse then it probably looked. Hope things are settling down for you. Are you able to return to your morning workouts??
Okay - gotta get moving here - will keep earning my red dots on my FitBit - averaging 10/11 with 7,000 steps each day. HUGE difference compared to my usual routine of sitting at my desk - Have a GOOD day everyone

Lisa: Yikes... seriously? Y'all are trying to accomplish the same task - and to "scold" another temp? What is wrong with people these days?!? Sorry the day wasn't one of the better ones you have had there! Hope Greg's PT went well. We were chilly and dreary yesterday - but this morning we are already UP to 55... it's the most WEIRD time of year here!
Oh Yes Lisa I agree - I do not want germs at work - just so they can "save" their sick time - then they take that just to use it or lose it... oh yes, we have one of those... makes me angry... Deb was out due to her heart rate was racing... she was dizzy... felt nauseous... so I asked what did the Dr say - her reply? I didn't call no doctor! Ummm, excuse me??? So of course yesterday - during the work day - she spent time on the phone calling the Dr., then the nurse called to ask more info - so she spent about 20 minutes on the phone with her... then had an appointment after work! Now if she had done all of this on Monday - when she was home - they could have dealt with it sooner!!
JUST got a message from her - her heart rate came down fro to 75, during the overnight... now she is waiting on a cardiologist to come in and discuss the next steps... they may do a scope to check for clots??
This girl is never "sick" I mean the usual colds and such - but an overnight in the hospital - she is going crazy!!
Anyway...
Oh Lisa, no Matt is not driving himself. He wasn't out "out-out" but put under enough so he wasn't allowed to drive. He had the same meds (similar) to what he had for the upper endoscopy - much like we'd get for colonoscopy I imagine? His wife has gone with him every time/appointment so far...and they both have paperwork for the oncologist to fill out for FMLA. Matt has Short Term Disability - Patti's will be unpaid at this point... I think once he starts the chemo he will let others drive him, so she can work. I asked about that last night - apparently the hospital (local) has a shuttle - so he may be able to use that. Patti (his wife) is looking into ACS Hope Lodges and places to stay during treatment if he gets transferred to a larger city/hospital.
Jenny: was hoping we'd hear from you... Well November 19th isn't too far off, hopefully you get more in depth news after they remove "it" from his lip. OH NO... google will not help GF!
Yes Jenny - it was awesome... I have enjoyed meeting every single one of you - I do get "nervous" about it - but then feel so good about it! I will see YOU again too - at some point my dear... away from the hustle and bustle of NYC... where we can just sit and chat better/more!
I think we need to plan a BEACH reunion... time together - all of us gals - on a beach somewhere... Sun - surf - FUN!
Sue: UGH Sounds like a long night for you - making the soup... could it have been done in the IP??
Oh dear... had to know eventually the financial side of DM issues would come up! OMGoodness.. WTH? I am confused - sorry, but if they would put her in a nursing home, you wouldn't have to buy or rent a bed! Are they seriously considering getting her an independent place?? Oh Sue {{{{hugs}}}}Stand your ground... let Jim and Annie figure it out.
Trust me GF you are not a downer - we all go through crap that needs to be shared...

Mornin' Christine - I slept OK, Ken slept out back! So sorry you are still feeling lousy {{{hugs}}} YAY for Lindsey's new bed! WHEW! Oh My... YAY for the Prince taking over your meeting! LOL Good luck keeping the teachers and parents up to date on the test results. LOL Not surprised he bailed on the playground duty! Glad the weather allows for outdoor activities for the kiddos
HA! Yeah - right... Crystal has no clue! EVERY time I head into her office to address something - she is TEXTING her DH! UGH! She sits in her office without a care in the world!!! Debbie's workload has settled down a bit... the next few days will be hectic... especially Friday... Being Friday and the 1st of the month and the third (since the 3rd is Sunday) so Friday will definitely be a day from Hell! At this point I feel bad for Aleta - she covers Deb like I cover Debbie... so she and I will be MAXED OUT, but our pretty little Princess Kaitlin will be doing her work - and ONLY her work... and have plenty of time for visiting with anyone that wanders by!! It's OK... I have 2 sets of fully charged ear buds - I'll.Be.Fine.!!
I have a yummy mac & cheese recipe for the IP... It is sooo yummy - but yes, more cheese and sodium than I need!!
Saw on FB that our Gabrielle is without power - sounds like she got home to no power and they are saying possibly Thursday to getting it back on!
LOL We had a chance of "S" but it never came... this week we are expecting high winds and rain and thunder... Welcome to New England... and the Fall humidity!!
YAY You for getting those steps in all day!
Hope you are feeling better - and can tackle the day ahead {{{hugs}}} ♥

OK Must get moving... no way I will be early today! UGH! Not sure I care... except to help Aleta if I can... I can stay late tonight - nothing planned here... I am trying to grab a few extra hours so my 8 hours vacation might only be 4-5 for Monday... leaving me a few extra hours to use as needed.
Hope to get back to chat later... ♥hugs♥

Morning Carole, Christine and all to come...slept fairly well last night and not quite and angry as when I went to bed....still wondering why Jim thinks that we as kids have to foot the bill for DM poor choices....I have no money now so I will be able to take care of myself in retirement. If my mother had only invested the $400 ($48,000 total) alimony that dad paid her for 10 years she would be rolling in dough, instead she spent it and she was working as a nurse making $28/hour and her rent on the Cape was only $550/month.....really. Jason was in the car when she got the last check in the mail from Dad....her comment was "I don't know how I'm going to make without this" Really?? Enough ranting...sorry! Guess I really am still annoyed! Since my soup is made, I will catch up after work!

Good morning! Dark, cold, and rainy here as we expect snow flurries for the first time in the next 24 hours unless it tracks more north. Today it's back to the most recent 900 hour report, flag the ones over 700 hours, then this time I need to refer to my last list and emails sent and received because a lot of them have been hired on full time, given an extension, on their break now, terminated, or if I have a reply acknowledging their upcoming break, I don't need to send their unit another notice at this time. Again, there should be a more automated way to do this!
Carole-thanks for the update on Matt, I am glad that he has the family support and FMLA. Sorry about your co-worker and having to stay late tonight. Cheese and crackers is no problem, if you don't feel like eating much then it's usually best that you don't.
Sue-wow I'm not sure what to say after reading the financial details about your DM's care. I always say try to do what the parent wants to be comfortable, but your situation is different and complex. Again, the whole situation should be discussed not just a request for money for these things. I'm in the same boat with you on feeling like I need to have a plan for my own retirement and possible long term care in the future so that Greg and I won't be a burden on our kids. I hope there will be more positive communications today.
Christine-glad you had a productive day yesterday including staying late. So the Prince doesn't stay around for his extra duty?!?
Gabrielle-I'm assuming that you are home by now. I hope that your area still has power.
Jenny-keep us updated on the lip procedure - praying all is well after that!
Shelly-hope things are going well for you today!
Hello to ATF...I need to get going. Not feeling it but glad to have the assignment and extra $$ this time of year so off I go. No word on ending my assignment yet so I'll just keep doing what I'm doing. I'd like it to go through November so maybe that will happen.

Good Morning everyone
It is so cold here around 32 degrees with the wind chill it feels like 20's, but it is sunny just cold. I had to switch from my flats (Bobs) to my Ugg's, it's official fall/winter is approaching us quickly this year. I slept really good until 3:30am then dozed from time to time until 5:00 and then it's time to get up. Diane is back to draining the life out of me again. She yelled at me and another girl for talking to much yesterday, I almost hopped up and put her in her spot but Fred said to document it and when I can't take any more then he will do some thing about it. Betsy the other girl thought I was going to rip her to shreds, but I said no, I don't want to fuel her fire and have it used against me so, I'm just really quiet around here now. UGGG....
Sue WTH is wrong with your brother!!! Nope I totally get where your coming from, I would just say I don't have the money, sorry can't help you. He's the one that moved her so it's his responsibility to deal with the situation he created. You and David tried to help her and this is what happens when you don't plan. I look at all the young kids I work with now and how they aren't putting anything into a 401K even, they are going to regret that decision, but it's on them. Sorry your going through this right now, HUGs my friend.
Carole glad to hear the kids are going to Comicon this weekend, they need something to distract them. One of the dump truck drivers had a thyroid tumor removed last year and he just found out that the cancer had returned and it's in traces all over his body, but insurance won't cover him until he's at a stage 4 cancer, can you believe that. I now know why people are so upset with the health care system. I'm up for a reunion trip to the beach, let me know when and where.
Christine sorry about the cold, and yes it's more relaxing to sleep in another bed when your under the weather, Sorry the prince is stealing your thunder after you did all the work for him, what a jerk.
Hello to Lisa, enjoy the snow, hello Shelly and Gabrielle
Gotta run before the wicked witch of the west returns...(Diane)

Evening all....going to try and finally catch up a bit. Back to Monday.....
Lisa...I'm sure you are sore from helping with the move. I don't blame you for saying this was you last time lifting and the heavy stuff....you can help with they move again but the young ones can do the "heavy stuff"! LOL...nope doesn't sound like much purging was done. I will say both my girls are not "pack rats" like there dad. I have a lot of stuff but it's pictures and special things from the girls and others. We do have a lot of stuff that needs to be purged and sold, pitched or donated in the back rooms of the basement but we kept a bunch of toys and things from the girls, Fisher Price and other "good quality" toys, games, puzzles but then we got all grandsons so much of it didn't get used so once we retire, that is one of the 1st big clean outs but it's not in anyone's way at this point so it can wait.
Carole...a full day of driving and sitting is tough...sorry the tub didn't help with the sore muscles and stiffness!
LOL...I'm dreading next July when I have to get my license renewed and get the "real ID"....Sarah said it's a PITA....guess MA is no better than PA. I'm with you, I had to show my marriage license to change my name 37 years ago so why if I have renewed it every 4 years do I need to prove it again??? UGH....jury duty! Hope you can get out of it or at least not have to spend the week! Yup Carole...you are right about payroll deductions....I have 2 right now.....one for the car payment, one for the Christmas Club (not really a club but where I put $30 each paycheck to help with Christmas) and the balance goes to checking but the very next day most of it moves to the mortgage account. I used to have 3 and had the mortgage going directly to the account it was drawn on but we got better interest putting it all in checking and then having and auto transfer to the savings for the mortgage. But when it's all said and done....I have $113 left to my check! Jason's check covers everything else....it's still a juggling act but we manage!
ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? Carole, the insurance company already paid for the home study??? Can you go the same place as Ken to get it approved and covered...this is craziness!
Glad I'm not the only one that has to deal with someone chatting at me when I really don't care about what they are talking about.....glad Tracy finally had breakfast to give you a little peace!
As for oils Carole...I do have a concentration chart somewhere for how strong the EO/carrier oil will be....need to find it and then ask Sarah if she was doing a DIY Thieves roller how many drops would she use for adults and kids....will share what I find out. I have two pre-made Thieves rollers I got as promos or something....I gave one to Jason to try and keep him healthy this season and I have one too but I usually have my daily cup of Thieves tea and only break out the roller if the germs are really flying!
Glad the insoles really seemed to help you out in DC....that's a good thing! I don't blame you, I often even at Thanksgiving when it's getting chilly wear sandals in the car....my feet get hot and I hate "real shoes"!
While I can't say for sure if Kris is talking to DM regularly I think she is just by the responses DM is giving Jim and Annie....I think Kris is still doing her best to be the "puppet master"! I'm just getting really tired of the whole mom situation.....I still think Jim and Annie had NO CLUE the extent of manipulation they were up against....honestly, they rarely called her and she spent 5-7 days there each year for maybe 5 years.....when she was on the Cape, she never saw them...when she got to NC, she was retired and they would try to get her to come to TX once a year but often she had an excuse why she couldn't go.... Honestly, David and I both said she needed to go to a nursing home and yet Jim thought that they could fix this and she could be independent....nope! Not happening!
Oh...Sarah and Josh had Colton yesterday so they took him trick or treating and 1/2 way through Amanda got him....she got him and joined the new BF....not sure the kids were along but he was. Apparently according to Sarah, he's divorced and lives with his parents! Yes, that almost made me spit my coffee on my monitor! I hope she finds someone....I hope she has to deal with an ex and has to feel how Sarah has felt for the last 10+ years and not being acceptable....I hope she needs to deal with a blended family and all that entails but I pray she is not "jumping the gun" and getting Colton attached to people he may never see if she breaks up! It's just too soon!

Shelly....sorry for the headache...hoping by now it's gone! I will say we have had no issues with DISH since we switched...had plenty with cable and Direct but DISH has been smooth sailing!
Carole...yes, time to break out that tracker....doesn't do you any good in your bag! Yes, I'm still keeping fingers crossed the polyps are good and he can got back to the 5 year plan....our open enrollment is due Monday so I stopped in to talk to the benefits person and explained that if the polyps are nothing we are going with the higher deductible next year to save some $$$ but if there is an issue we would opt for the lower deductible....I asked for a few day extension until the results are in and she said to just complete it and if it needs to change she will do it for me....she understood and said it would be easier to have it done and then change later than to add me to the "chase after list" for paperwork/registering!
Carole...all moms worry...I would be the same way if it was my girls! I know Matt will ask for help...he knows he has many in his corner and maybe they just need to know the "big picture" before they start to reach out and ask for help. Right now they can probably "handle things" but not know what is down the road until all tests are done and treatments start they don't want to burden anyone too soon!
Lisa...sorry for the bossy retiree that scolded you! Yes, Jason's DD had issues with polyps and was on the 3-5 year plan as long as I remember but it was never a serious issue. I just want to know....waiting is always the worst.
Jenny...low grade does sound like a positive diagnosis....hopefully you will hear something soon. Kind of surprised he has to wait until the 19th to have it removed.... NOPE, not sure why they think they can fix DM....Jim is an addict too, been sober/clean for years but no one could fix him back then until he wanted it....until DM wants it, they are fighting a losing battle! LOL...love scruples!! I guess all of us are dating ourselves here!
I'm done....I just need to veg....can't focus! See you all in the morning!
