Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend still least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
Heading to work soon. Hoping it’s a busy day.
I had a great nights sleep last night, made up for the previous night. I have to remember to change a couple of clocks tonight. It’s a cold morning and I’ll start my car about 10 minutes before I leave for work to warm it up.

Joyce, hope you have a good day at work. Great job on the weight loss again.
Ruth, hope you are feeling better and that Stan is out of A-fib.
We arrived early on Thursday morning. The boat is nice but small, about 150 guests on board. Good food and the staff has been great so far. BudaPest was very interesting. I realize that I don't know a lot about European history, especially after WW 2. So far almost everyone we met speaks English. One of our servers at dinner said that they start learning English in third grade. This afternoon, boat is moving now, we will tour Bratislava, Slovakia. Just a walking tour of the town. Weather could be a little sunnier but it is November.

Good evening all. Dottie, so nice to hear about your trip. The guy who introduced Stan and I back in college (and his wife) took a river cruise in those areas a couple years ago. They really enjoyed the smaller boat experience. They also just did the NCL cruise in Hawaii for their 50th anniversary. Among other things - they really lived it up!!! Sounds like you are having a great time. Love hearing about your trips.
Joy, was it busy at work today? Are the 2020 models out yet? Don’t those come out in the fall? Or am I totally off?
Interesting day. Stan didn’t sleep much at all last night, so he was a hot mess today (as Heather calls her girls when they are low on sleep)!! He’s still in AFib as of right now (5:30 pm). He did come home from the swim meet, lunch out, and a couple errands and mowed inside the chain link fenced areas out back. Wanted to get it done for the last time. Some areas of the cities had snow overnight, we did not. But we did encounter a slick bridge deck on our way to swimming this am. Stan is very careful. The cleaner called about 7:15 or so and postponed until tomorrow. She’d been up since 3:30 with a sick teenager (she was thinking food poisoning) and a husband who wouldn’t get up to help her with continual clean up!! We will be up and out early again tomorrow for the 2nd day of the swim meet so that’s fine.
Harper did great today in her only event. She spent the rest of the morning wishing she’d signed up for more than 1 event. She placed 1st in her heat and got 5th overall in the 50 free. She was probably the youngest of the 30+ 9-10 year olds swimming it. So she was really happy. She has 3-4 events tomorrow so it will be fun to see how she does then. She loves a good challenge.
Had lunch out with long time friends. Just at a burger place, but food was good. Prices aren’t bad either. Owners used to live 2 doors down from younger DD and her family. They have 5 boys between 5 and 14?!!! Friends live on the opposite corner of the cities from us. They just built a new house last summer and moved from the house they had been in for 32 years or so.
Did a load of our laundry and now doing the basket of laundry DS gave me when we traded off Mara last night. Covered in cat hair. No urine in this, but enough cat hair to knit a cat!!! Cats must play in the laundry! Ugh!
going to watch hockey on tv tonight if I can stay awake. Sure hope it’s better than their last game. They are really struggling this season.
Will check in tomorrow after swim meet.

Good evening all. Joy, you must have had to work today. Quiet on here!
We got up and out early and hit the swim meet. Saw Harper swim 3 events. She got DQ’d in 2 of them because her legs don’t turn like they should (been an issue since she was a tiny infant; dr visits galore; still not right) and her breast stroke kick is wrong. She took lessons at Foss (a private swim school) since she was about 6 mo old. They had taken the stroke and fixed it but apparently she forgot about it at this new place. DD said she’d talk to the Foss instructors and see how they had fixed it so that the instructors at the YWCA can do the same. She won all 3 of her heats of the races she was in; but she’s one of the younger 9 year olds so she’s in the slower heats. But she got like 5th overall so was ok. And she actually took being DQ’d better than I thought she might, all things considered. I think when she realized it wasn’t something she had really done wrong, it was better. And something that can be fixed.
DH is still in AFib tonight. He slept better last night but is still wiped out from it. We went and picked up a few things at Costco and he got them to help fix his hearing aids. Issues with wax buildup apparently when you have new hearing aids. He’s happy with their customer service so far. Now if he could just stop messing with the hearing aids at all. Praying the AFib is gone soon!!!
Cleaner came this morning and I’m going to take a break from her for a while. She moved 30 min. away and wants me to pay her gas money since she moved! She’s $25 an hour with a 3 hr minimum and that is fairly cheap, but I’m just less and less happy. I was thinking about our headboard on the bed and dust. I knew she couldn’t do behind the pillows or the wood piece on the floor. But I was totally disgusted to see how much dust was built up on the top edge of the headboard right above my head. And I’m not supposed to be around the dust. And she didn’t do a few other things I think should be done routinely. Not sure if we are going to do it ourselves for a while or try out other cleaning services. May just save some $$ for a while. I’ve just finally reached my limit.
Wild game last night was not fun to watch after a while! Brought home a couple more baskets of DS/DIL’s laundry that may have cat urine on it. It’s out in the garage and I will start working on it tomorrow. Some of it may get tossed, other good stuff I will really work on.
Ok, we have Mara and she will need to head to bed in the next hour. She’s having a good time playing and finding her toys and books that are here.
I have a list of things I must get done in the next few days. A call about a piece of equipment I bought from the neck & back clinic. My order was to have 3 things in it; only had 2. Sent an email. Person on vacation for a week. Then I sent an email with a picture of my order showing what should have been in it. And they still haven’t responded to my request for the machine names and weights so I can go to the Y. And I need to pay bills; take plastic bags to recycling; and take the paper bags and egg cartons and a bag of baby food DIL has left over to the food shelf. And I have things I want to get listed and sold. So I plan to try and keep moving, keep busy, and get some things done!!
more tomorrow!
