Linda, a Whole Foods CLOSING??? Have they built another one near by and that's the reason for the closing? I don't think I've heard about one going out of business, but then there's a lot of competition. You did quite well on your purchases. Not surprised about all the people. Great that you were able to use your Prime on everything. How was the new Italian place and was it an adventure?
How was the Cincy trip, Chele? I hope you had good weather for the drive and that the cousin was having a good day. Those visits can be so depressing if you catch them on a bad day, but you just don't know in advance. What are you taking to DN#2's house tomorrow? I know you tend not to go empty-handed.
Liz, what's on your weekend agenda? I know PT has been a challenge in a good way, but I wondered if your leg length discrepancy was decreasing. How's your Wally boy doing? Is it getting easier to put in the drops?
You were colder than we were yesterday, Becky. I used to hate those cold snaps when we lived there. I remember visiting a friend in Austin a couple of years after we moved and I took clothing for lows in the 50s and highs in the 70s. We had a lows in the 30s and highs in the 50s. I went home with lots of extra clothing from just a 5-day visit and I was still freezing. Did you hear that Google bought Fitbit? I wonder how much that will change it. I'm still exclusively wearing my VS4, so as long as they don't buy Garmin, I'll be happy. Garmin has been around a lot longer and is into more than just fitness trackers, so I would think they would be the buyers and not the buyees. Does A&M play today? Texas doesn't play today, which is their 2nd bye week of the season because they didn't play the week before the Red River Rivalry either.
Kathy, I hope all goes smoothly with the party and that DM loves all the attention and seeing all the out of towners.
I just finished the big monthly dinner cook for Arya and have 31 containers of pilaf and veggies in the freezer. It's a lot of work, but only having to do it about once a month makes it a bit more palatable (pun intended). I also have been doing laundry. Nothing else but football in the plans. I made a special herbal tea blend this morning with lots of immune supportive and healing herbs. I'm feeling a bit better, but will keep forcing the hot liquids and neti pot today to get through this. I do have a bit of newsletter stuff to take care of. Would you believe I got a couple of articles from the president this morning? Deadline isn't even until Wednesday!

Thanks for the start Karen. Our low was 33 this morning.Even though we have had cold mornings the afternoons have been nice.I prefer this to 100.Yes I did hear Google is buying Fitbit for a good amount of money. They claim it won't change much but who knows. The Aggies weren't playing on TV but I saw they won by a big score.I knew TX wasn't playing.I don't see how you cook all Arya's food at once.Scooter gets leftovers or gets to lick out our paper plates but she really likes her Purina One dry food and it seems to be good for her.We had to go to WM to get a bathroom heater.

hours later, never buy 1/2 pound of chocolates you are not sending this week...we opened it.
Whole Foods has another bigger store six miles away. This one was too small. They reopen tomorrow up in downtown Tempe where there us no grocery store but are many new apartments...a mile from ASU . I have a feeling the city helped because they have bern trying to get something to open there.

Good morning chicks and happy Sunday. Linda - at least the explanation for the smaller WF makes some sense. I ended up going to the hair salon yesterday and then stopped into WF. It's amazing to me how much more crowded they are now with the Amazon ownership and Prime sale items. We gained our hour and the temps were in the 30s this morning with a hard frost yesterday morning. Sees chocolates, yummy and dangerous. Nice avatar! Chele - hope you're enjoying your busy weekend! Kathy - hoping all is festive and fun for mom's BD weekend with the family! Becky - I didn't hear about Google buying Fitbit and apparently if I did, it didn't stick. Should be interesting to see what if any changes occur. Glad the temps are better even with the big swing. Wally & Zoe seem to love the chilly weather as do I. Karen - good to know you're feeling somewhat better. I had an unexpectedly busier day yesterday and ended up with almost 6,600 steps, a new high for me and a hip and knee which let me know it. Nothing terrible but ice and anti-inflammatory needed. PT is challenging and good but I'm thinking we pushed from one way to a much more aggressive way that may or may not be the best. Time will tell, I'm sure. We're just about out of the ointment for Wally's eyes which didn't get easier. I'll have to get him to the vet again this week. I think I have the heebie-geebies about returning to work soon. How is the mouth doing? Hope you're keeping those hands and feets warm . Wow on getting all those meals for Arya done. No discernible change in the leg length issue as of yet. I'm thinking I may just need to get a pair of my shoes enhanced to help. I'm going to stop here so I can get the ice packs off and give Wally his Himalayan bone for being a good boy. Be safe and have a nice day ladies. Ciao for now~

Linda, I am cracking up about the opened candy box. I have made that mistake before. Apparently, nephews 1 and 2 went online and looked up how to teach English overseas. #1 is learning Arabic and we tried to convince him to get a position in Beirut and live with Iggy’s DM. He could have our apartment on the second floor to himself and there is a bus line into Beirut. So far he is not interested.
Karen, that is a lot of cooking at once but better to get it over with. Unbelievable that for your last newsletter the president beat the deadline by several days. Iggy’s cousin is 96 and doing well considering she has a bad valve in her heart and the surgeons won’t operate because of her age. She is a nun and is at the convent nursing home now. The weather was okay for the drive. Iggy and I are bringing raw veggies and dip and a French baguette.
Kathy, I hope you are having a grand old time and DM is enjoying her birthday celebration.
Liz, I hope you and Wally are doing better.
Becky, Your weather sounds perfect. We are getting down to the 30s at night and the 50s during the day. I hope you enjoy the service and fellowship today.
Well, must dash. The carnivore is bellowing.

Becky, was your a.m. low more than 33 this morning? We were low 30s but they are saying no less than 40 tonight, so I guess you will be getting a warm up as well. Congrats on the new bathroom heater. I know how essential that can be. We bought the biggest freezer we could get and that's the only way I can store all of Arya's extra food. When I started cooking for Phoebe, I was doing only a few days worth at a time and it was a hassle, especially since I was working full time. But it was better for her with her health issues. I wonder why the Aggies game wasn't televised. Do you have any local radio stations that broadcast games? Sometimes we have to listen to the Lady Vols on the radio and all the football games are on the radio, even if they are on TV.
LOL on the Sees candy, Linda. When you posted that you got a box to send later, I thought, "uh-oh" and I'm sorry I was right. There are some tings that are just too difficult to have around, even with the best intentions. I don't think I'm getting sick, but I feel like I'm getting through what ever I got exposed to. Another big batch of tea this morning with slightly different herbs. I'm a little sniffly but the respiratory junk seems to be clearing. Congrats on no time change. The rest of us should be so lucky. What are you planning for your new burgundy sweater? Sorry you couldn't find a Christmas red one without embellishments. Several of our local stores have been playing Christmas music for a while now. It's just too soon for me though. I know Micki looks adorable after his grooming. Your explanation for the WF closing makes more sense now. Yes, a mile from ASU would be the perfect place, and it sounds like it was a food desert.
Liz, you really got a lot of steps in yesterday, so I hope you aren't paying too dearly today. What part of returning to work are you dreading--the commute or the stressful work crap? Sorry your short leg doesn't seem to be getting any longer. Good that you have some place local to do what needs to be done to your shoes. When is Wally's vet appointment? How did the pups do with the time change this morning? We were still up a little after 6, so it didn't make much of a difference for us. I really didn't feel like crawling out of bed. Mouth is doing ok today and there's not as much jaw pain. I almost messed up and flossed in that area, which I was warned not to do. When I realized where I was, I was able to pull the floss through without lifting up.
Do you know which heart valve is the bad one for Iggy's cousin, Chele? Some can be worse than others. With her age, I'm not surprised she isn't a candidate for surgery. If she's had that for a while, it's amazing that she has made it to her current age. Did she also emigrate from Beirut? Have your nephews met Iggy's family? If he's going to be in that part of the world, it would be great to have someone there to look out for him. I know that would make your DB/DSIL much better about his being so close to a volatile area. Enjoy your cuddling time today. I know they will appreciate the veggie tray and baguette.
Kathy, how did the party go? Anything unexpected happen? I saw that UCF won, but FSU wasn't so lucky. I guess you saw that the Gators lost to Georgia. We watched part of that game and were pulling for the Dawgs, so we were happy. TN won big, but it wasn't their best effort. They need to win 2 of their final 3 games to be bowl eligible. I'm on the fence regarding whether that will happen.
We have a somewhat warmer and sunny day. Dale found a tree yesterday that he thought would be good to plant shiitakes, so I gave him instructions and he did it. When he came back in, he asked if he was an official shroomer and I told him he was. I guess I need to surprise him with a t-shirt for Christmas. The tree is about 35 ft long and must have come down in one of our wind storms over the past couple of weeks. My morning consisted of changing the bed and getting everything washed. We are actually getting to watch a Carolina Panthers game today, which is a rarity. I guess it's because they are playing the Tennessee Titans.

Liz We had a heavy frost Friday and Saturday. We did get down to 35 this morning but it warmed up beautifully to 71.I love the cooler mornings as long as it warms up some in the afternoons.Scooter is staying out more in the afternoons on the beautiful days we have been having.
Chele The weather has been wonderful. The service was nice this morning although the pastor was hoarse from allergies.I felt sorry for him.For some reason I guess fall has brought more people to the services. We had a pretty full house.LOL on the carnivore bellowing.
Karen We did get down to 35 this morning. They are predicting 41 for tomorrow but we are always cooler than Austin. We had to get a new electric heater for the bathroom. It is too cold in there this time of year to take a shower and shampoo my hair.I don't know if it's still the case but a few yrs ago the Aggies and Longhorns could only be on TV so many times a year.
