This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Good Morning??? This morning I am the one awake in the middle of the night...lol
I am pretty sure I will be back asleep shortly, but I thought while I was up (and since I missed yesterday), I would go ahead and start us. We will be heading to Charlottesville today to meet friends at a winery. Today is my DH birthday and, although he doesn't drink at all, he enjoys the drive, the views, and meeting friends...it was his idea to do this today.
Since Andi and RobinS were talking about the new WW program, I think I will check it out later.
OK...heading back to bed now

Good morning Susie and ATF. I am of course up super early - #1 because I never sleep well, and #2 because of the time change. Got up at 4:15... Hopefully you're back asleep Susie, especially because you have a lovely day planned and you don't want to be exhausted. Happy Birthday to your DH. He is miracle man, for sure. Oh, and you can't really find out much about the new WW plan since it isn't being rolled out in the US until November 10th or 11th, but if you poke around on this board under general discussion, you'll see quite a bit of info obtained from the folks in Australia where they already have it.
So nice to see daylight at 6 AM! Remind me of this at 4:30 this afternoon... Have you all noticed that there's already Christmas advertising on TV? Don't they usually wait until Thanksgiving? I think I forget every year.
Fun day planned for me - gym, brunch out with DN, and then a concert locally at 4. I am also going to cook some curried chick peas in my IP. I seem to be trying to eat one plant based meal a day. We'll see how this goes - it's not a rigid rule but I know this would be a good thing and so far it ends up being mostly dinners. I have work tomorrow but am off again on Tuesday for Election Day. I already voted since for the first time there is early voting in NY State so I can just enjoy the day off. November has a lot of holidays in it and I look forward to those every year. Next one up is Veterans Day, and with my DNephew in the military deployed in Afghanistan, this particular day has extra meaning for me this year.
Which reminds me, RobinMD, so interesting to read about your DF's experience in Korea. Thanks for sharing it with us. Hope your workday was ok yesterday. Are you working again today? I can't remember.
I watched a few episodes of the Kominsky Method last night on Netflix. Some great situations of aging and humor. I always like that.
Have a great day, all.

Hi Everyone, I was up pretty early this morning and was sitting on the couch and lookinh at my phone realized that I forgot to turn my clocks back so it was only 4 instead of 5 so went back in bed. Then Cassie decided to join me by laying right on me. lol! My friend called me to tell me that her husband is in the hospital. He was just feeling really weak and apparently there is some wound on his foot. He is diabetic. I was and am planning to go food shopping for her today. I went last weekend for her. She says she has no food tho. That is mainly because all they get most of the time is deli. He usually gets some meals from a meals on wheels and at times they order takeout. I could get other stuff for them but I get what they ask me to buy. I am going to the gym too and need to make a stop at a different Target because Walmart didnt have my flavor of my coffee yesterday. Lately the Target that is closer to me hasn't had the flavor but Walmart usually has it. I have been in the mood to make meatloaf so if I have time I may cook it before food shopping but not sure unless I get a really early start getting out. I have to have time to cool it to put in the refrigerator if I do that. I prefer it coming out hot but I am usually tired after shopping for her. I dont have as much to shop for me as I stopped there yesterday for things I needed already. I usually sit with her for a bit too. Susie, Glad that your husband wanted to go to the winery and enjoy the company of friends and the view. Have a great day!

While reading Andi's post and then mine again, just realized I need an onion for my meatloaf. I havent bought onions in a while because I havent been cooking that much and what I have cooked doesnt require any onions. If I can buy one single onion at Target maybe although make a stop at Aldis maybe as I am getting low on my stevia and Walmart didnt have their own brand yesterday which is way cheaper than buying the brand name. I didnt end up buying anything there.

Good Morning again...I was able to go back to sleep for 3-4 hours so that is good. BRRRR...it is 33 degrees.
Andi - I was guessing that I really wouldn't be able to find out anything about the "new" WW program until January, but I will check the boards...thanks. It is ridiculous how early they put out Christmas items in stores too; I think they do it even before Halloween.
Janet - I think we tend to think about "comfort" food (soup, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, etc) as soon as it starts to get cold. I am thinking chili or some kind of soup this week. I can just picture Cassie laying on top of you AND purring!
OK...off to empty the dishwasher and fix some coffee

Good morning, everyone,
Susie, I am jealous of your outing to Charlottesville! I love that town. My parents retired about 40 miles south of there, and lived there on 100 acre farm that was heaven on earth, to all of us. I think it is supposed to be a beautiful day. There was frost sparking on the grass this morning...most of my flowers and plants are now done. My furnace actually came on this morning, too! I have it set pretty low, so if it comes on, I know its cold! Glad you got more sleep, too, before your fun day.
Andi, sounds like fun for you, too...I did work yesterday and am off today. We were not very busy, and last night, we had trick or treat in the town, so we got to hand out candy in front of the station. Lots of little goblins were out! My partner said his wife is making chili today, and I was also thinking about the comfort foods that we tend to crave at this time of year. I like to have some plant based meals, too. I have a really good warm lentil salad recipe, with a dressing made with garlic, Dijon mustard, red wine vinegar, and a little olive oil...it is terrific. One of the favorites around here, when my girls were growing up. I think they both make it now.
Janet, that's really nice of you to help your friend with her groceries. It must be stressful for her to have her husband in the hospital, and not be able to get food into the house. I hope they don't take too much advantage of you... Meat loaf sounds good! I always enjoy hearing what everyone is making. Not much going on here. When it warms up, I hope to finish the last little bit of paint on the main part of my pool house, and then all I have left is to paint the trim. I also need to run to the grocery store. Other than that, I don't know what else will happen. I need to go to the monthly meeting at the ambulance station here in town, where I volunteer. It isn't convenient, but I haven't been able to make it to very many of them lately. I guess I'll get some more coffee and think about getting the day going. HA! I didn't want to get up this morning, but of course, woke up at the time I usually get up, then dozed a little longer. I hope to bbl, but for now, I am waving to all, RobinMD

I am really dragging today. Tried to do my best with the time change, tried to stay up later than usually, but then was up during the night. Once it was the morning I really tried to fall back to sleep and didn't do a great job of it. The walk through at my DM's house was this morning. They don't want the refrigerator or freezer in the garage, so I put it on our local Facebook page that if someone came to pick them up, they could have them for free, so someone is going to meet me there on my way home from work tomorrow and take both.
Andi, we watched the first 2 episodes of the 2nd season of Kominsky Method. Not as funny as last year but quite good. There is something on Amazon Prime that should be good too, Modern Love. It has some really good actors in it. Tina Fey, Anne Hathaway, Dev Patel. I think each episode might be a different story with different actors, not really sure. Enjoy the concert.
All that talk of meatloaf made me think about it, but when I went to the supermarket I ended up seeing that beef stew meat was on sale, so I am going to put that in the crockpot tomorrow morning. Susie, exactly what you said, it gets cold, and I will make the stew. I was also thinking about a Shepherd's Pie, I didn't buy potatoes, but maybe I will use the mashed cauliflower I have in the freezer from Trader Joe's.
Robin, good that it's nice enough out to get that painting done, a bit chilly, but OK.
My niece ran the NYC Marathon today. I guess that's how you keep your figure after having a baby.

Hello again, Well, I feel like I accomplished a lot today. I did finish the pool shed, and just need to touch up the white trim before it is completely done. I was also able to get several loads of laundry done, and pumped the standing water off my pool cover. I'm pretty achy, from climbing up and down the ladders and twisting and leaning, to get all the painting done, but ice and heat and Advil are helping. I stretched and tried to keep the muscles relaxed, and by tomorrow I should be good as new. After I was done, ODD dropped by and we had a nice visit. It was just a beautiful day, a little chilly, pleasant and warmer than I thought it was going to be. I love these crisp autumn days.
Robin, sorry the time change has you dragging. I think a lot of people struggle more with the falling back! I hope everything goes well with your DM's house. I keep forgetting about the facebook yardsale option. I need to sell some things, and I am going to try that. I am a little leery of who would show up if I put things on Craig's list...
Well, I hope everyone is enjoying their comfort foods tonight! I put fresh sheets on the bed, and am looking forward to snuggling in and getting a good night's sleep. We'll see how THAT goes! HA! I may be back tomorrow, but it is my long day at work and Mondays are usually long and tiring at the doctor's office. I hope everyone has a good start to the week. Waving to all,
RobinMD
