Keeping with our theme this weekend - yesterday was "Sensible Saturday" now today we will make it "Smart" No snow here this morning but it looks like South of us in DM's area they did get some and will continue through the morning - I don't think it's heavy snow, but enough to cover the ground I am still planning on driving down to see Linds today - just because I haven't seen her since September and I MISS her! But there is snow in between us and we all know what a treacherous drive that can be in 45 min south of us - I hate that stretch of the highway and it always gets 'white out' conditions or strong winds. So, I will wait a little longer before leaving (10:00 instead of 9:00) when it should start clearing... Hoping to stop at the Outlet Stores - DD23 has homework so she will not be joining me - and DH craves his football - so I'm looking forward to some time with just the two of us! My voice is better - just very scratchy sounding.

Sue - thank you for sharing the Potato Soup recipe - it does sound yummy - I am putting a roast in the crockpot for dinner tonight and oh, yes, I'll put potatoes in the other smaller crockpot for mashed potatoes - perfect for a day like today. DH asked for beef stroganoff later this week - so glad he suggested something. I feel 'stale' when repeating same meals. Also thinking of making Enchiladas for Carly and I. We love to take the left overs to heat at work. How are Sarah and Josh doing? The other day Linds text me and said, "one year ago today I had my accident". It broke my heart. It was THAT bad and we still are amazed how she came away from that fallen pole and wires unscathed. Not to mention we MISS that car! But honestly, the car was getting 'old' so maybe it was time to upgrade. I saw your post Glenville is getting tons of rain. Sorry...makes for that chill deep in the bones.
Lisa - hope you had a good Saturday - are you working all next week too? You are right, it's nice to have some hours this time of the year. My contract work has decreased waaaay down. I'm actually looking elsewhere as I have had only 2 assignments this entire calendar year! I suspect others are grabbing those contract jobs - bound to happen - How are the Newlyweds doing? I couldn't remember how far does Kim live from you?
Gabrielle - is the Race done? I can't believe DH ran in DC last week AND this weekend did the 100 mile race! My cousin and her DH do the one not far from here through the mountains so I'm a little familiar with the pacing team and the support that goes with it. WOW! Let us know how it all went and how YOU are doing! Good to hear DS20 reaching out and seeing how important it all is - but you are right, figuring it out as you go along IS the whole purpose. DD23 was going for Speech Therapy and near the end, she just didn't want to do it (after 3 years of Clinicals, internships, and volunteer work) but it was so good she figured it out. Now she's on the path to work with Visually Impaired. Who knows where she will end - right now she is looking at Pittsburgh area and talking to her good friend who will finish Doctorate in Audiology about maybe living together in Pittsburgh.

Jenny - how is your weekend going? I was wondering too, how Kerry is feeling about the recent diagnosis. Let us know when you get a chance. How frustrating to be working with Diane - ugh - and you are right, just keep documenting. I have a binder dedicated to the antics of DL and the Prince. Although this year they seem to have backed off I'm still very guarded. How is Audrey doing with balancing school and Dance? Shelly - shout out to ya!! How are you doing? It sounds like a busy week for you - let us know how your daily workouts were going...hoping you are doing okay! Yesterday I went up to DM's to return a tarp I had borrowed - my Brother was there - he had just finished raking all her leaves. The owners of her park (modular homes) cut down about 6 trees in her yard/area and this has made a HUGE difference! It looks so open and nice! I couldn't really talk much but I could listen to DM...she was feeling frustrated and sad. Sad that her body aches so much and she feels so stiff. She said she self-diagnosed and she thinks she has rheumatoid arthritis. She is using 2 canes to scoot around her bedroom/bathroom/kitchen each morning. She said about 10 AM she feels 'looser' and not so much pain. It made me feel sad too. I tried to tell her "It's okay to slow down" after all those years of working hard! But it scares her too that she feels so weak. We talked about the different stretches PT encouraged her to do to help. She did show me a few but she is not feeling balanced so she really can't do the standing ones. I later shared this all with DH - he suggested a walker for her especially to help with her balance. I think mentally, she will refuse. But he makes sense - Okay, off to get this day started. Will make breakfast, do a bit more laundry, then head out to see my Girl

Good morning Christine - Simple is Good for today - thanks for starting us off... hoping for a SIMPLE but PRODUCTIVE day - I cannot "afford" two lazy days in one weekend! House looks terrible... and I get so cranky when I have had a lazy day! It's one of those I don't want to DO the work, but I want the work DONE... pretty much a can't win situation! LOL
Went to bed at 9:30... turned clock back to 8:30... slept until 5:20, decided at 6:15 to just get up. The good news is Zoë stayed in bed until after 7! WIN WIN for US!
Long list of things I want done here today - and DH has been asked to come help my sisters with a project... he is saying an hour or so - I figure it will be most of the day! I am hoping for SUNSHINE today, so I can get the patio cleaned off once and for all - thought it was going to be done long before now!
I will say I am a bit envious - shopping today would be fun... but yeah, driving in white out conditions? Not-so-much! Drive safely and enjoy the day.
Sorry the 1 year anniversary of the accident "Brings it all back" - always scary to think of the "what-ifs"!
I forgot to pull the chicken last night - {big sigh}... wanted to throw it in the crockpot today to cook all day - oh well, will do it as soon as I can pry them apart. I have a list/menu for most of the upcoming week - but gotta tell ya, the mention of pot roast again - makes me want that now! I do have stew beef so IP Beef stew one night will be warm and yummy.
Think I need to head to the shower early - it will help warm me up and get my day started. I have already flipped and started another load of laundry, but there are probably three more loads to do - along with all the folding and sorting that goes along with that! Then I think I will make the trip to Wal-Mart to grab the groceries and a few other things. I NEED a new coffee pot - mine isn't keeping the coffee very hot, the clock is already "gone" so I will replace BEFORE it dies completely!! NO WAY I want to wake up someday and NOT be able to make coffee!!
OK Keep it SIMPLE my friends... that's the goal for today!
♥hugs♥

Morning all....thanks for starting us off this morning Christine...when my internal clock went off at 5:15 am I thought it would be me starting us off...thankfully my plan to stay up an extra hour last night worked this time....I was still tired enough to go back to bed and actually went back to sleep fairly quickly. I did have help keeping me awake last night...I called Hannah at 9:56 pm as I always do on her birthday. I don't call Sarah anymore since she was born at 1:59 am but when she was still at home I would go in and kiss her on the head and wish her "Happy Birthday"!! After that Sarah knew I was still up so she called me and we chatted for a bit...she's all worried because the BF is coming to soccer today! Hopefully it won't be any drama. Josh is all worried, does he introduce himself if they have opportunity of just kind of avoid him for now?? I told Sarah to just let it play out and see what happens.
Anyway....back to yesterday afternoon to catch up....
Lisa...sometimes it is hard to hang onto that motivation. Glad you got the groceries stocked up so you are ready for the week. Yes, winter is coming here too....still hanging on to late fall by a thread but the heat is definitely on for the season now! Leaves are falling quickly now and the trees will soon be bare. Finally did ask Sarah last night how they both felt....yes, they are sore from the airbags going off but other than that they are fine. So, did you go out for dinner or fix something at home??
Carole...glad you enjoyed a lazy afternoon...wish I could have joined you in the hot tub...I could have used that yesterday too. I was pretty productive for a while, then just kind of hit the same lazy wall. Need to go through the boxes in the corner of the living room and find space for the stuff for now until after the holidays....the boxes are sitting where the tree will soon be....yes, I actually said that it will soon be tree time...we always put ours up the weekend after Thanksgiving....well, 4 weeks from today we will be driving home from NC and Thanksgiving will be over...it doesn't seem possible! Just want to get all the clutter out of that corner so we don't have to scramble last minute! A lot of the boxes are gifts and just need to be brought downstairs for wrapping, a couple things are wedding and shower gifts that will be gone on 11/16....I was going to go to the shower a couple months ago but last minutes something came up...I already had the gift so I'm just going to bring both the day of the wedding. I'll wrap them today and have them ready to go.
Carole...if we weren't having pot roast today with all the fixin's....I was going to make the beef stew in the IP too....it is so easy and so yummy! Actually already have the roasts in the pan and the oven is preheating now...plan to make is early in the day so that we can have a big meal for lunch, well, a late lunch about 2:00 pm....will get everything prepped so when the time comes to add it I just need to open the oven and add it....Jason will be grabbing all the little potatoes so I just need to give them a good scrub and toss them in....no peeling necessary as they are fresh dug and the skins are nice and thin......plus it's a good way to use up all those little ones.....I cheated and got the bags of already prepped brussel sprouts too and a 2# bag of baby carrots....only thing I really need to prep is the onions....Jason will bring them in when he finally gets dressed and heads out to finish clearing out the garden and gathering up some leaves.
Yes, we are lucky to have the extra vehicle for Sarah and Josh to use...they will get a rental but as I said, the insurance adjuster isn't even looking at the car until tomorrow so they needed to borrow it for a couple days....no biggie for us! Hopefully they can get a big enough rental to hold everyone or they might need to borrow the van a little longer.....Will be anxious to hear if they total it or fix it....the damage under the hood and to the frame will be the key.....the whole front is crunched and the driver's side front quarter panel/wheel well are crunched too!
