This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Good Morning....cheez - it is FREEZING. I bet everyone's heat is on now. The sun is out though and we are supposed to get to 62 today I think. We had a lovely time at Mt. Ida vineyard - they have a beautiful tasting room and restaurant, and a lodge nearby. It is the first time we have been there. Then we left our friends and went to Blenheim Winery for a members "pick-up" party to get our wine selections for the semester. After missing so much sleep the night before and the wine, I was in bed shortly after we got back home - lol!
Today I skipped the gym and I will be meeting a friend for brunch that I only see occasionally - usually to celebrate our birthdays that are only 3 days apart. We are way late since our birthdays are in June - lol. Then I am heading to get hearing aids....we will see how that goes.
Waving to everyone...glad you got the painting done RobinMD and the stew sounds great RobinS

Good morning everyone -
I've been fighting off a little bit of sickness since late last week. I think it's just a cold but my ears have been all stuffed up. It's hard to explain. Started with a tickle/scratchy throat then my ears got filled up/pressure. I've been a bit congested and just having head pain. I have to go to a couple of meetings this morning and then may go work from home for the afternoon.
I feel bad not being here - especially because I feel really behind. My coworkers keep telling me I should go home. Part of me feels like it's not bad enough to warrant going home - especially since I don't intend to go to the doctor yet. And I get that the other point of leaving is to not infect everyone else.
Waving to everyone!

Good afternoon friends.
I thought I posted yesterday evening. I know I typed up a post, but I don't see where it went through.
We had a lovely long weekend with DD, DSIL and the giant pup. We met the rest of DH family in the city Saturday for lunch. After they headed out yesterday afternoon I spent the rest of the afternoon getting our house back in order, guest room linens, towels, our normal weekend laundry, etc. I love them dearly, but they do tend to leave a bit of a disaster zone in their wake.
Do you all remember me talking about the outside cat that visited our deck every evening for dinner at the Georgia house, we called her Will Feral? Anyway, we might have a new local replacement. Yesterday afternoon I looked out the back doors and saw a black cat laying in the sun in the middle of the yard. I've seen it a couple of times before stalking around on the edges of the woods, but it's always taken off when I've taken a couple of steps in her direction. So yesterday it was closer to the house than it's ever been, so I decided to try to feed it. All I had on hand was a couple of small containers of dog food, some tuna packed in water and some tins of skinned & deboned sardines packed in olive oil. I decided to go with the "big guns" and drained a tin of sardines and put them on a paper plate and walked them out on the patio. The wind was blowing just right and the kitty must have smelled them immediately. It's little head popped up and it took a couple of steps toward me before stopping. I set the plate down and came back inside. Before I'd even finished closing the door, kitty was making a mad dash toward the plate and cleaned every bite. After eating she strolled off, but was back again last night. So last night was a tuna pouch and she stayed on the patio meowing at me while I walked the plate out and sat it down. It's amazing how quickly food helps to gain trust. Haha. I took the door off the old pet carrier and lined it with a couple of old fleece blankets and set it into the corner of the back stairs in case she needed a place to sleep. This morning I popped over to the DG and picked up some cans of 9 Lives. This kitty is absolutely gorgeous. Jet black without a spot of white anywhere, and bright green eyes. We'd love to have another "friendly feral" hanging around, so hopefully we'll see it again soon.

Back home for the evening...got my hearing aids...we will see if it helps with TV tonight! I had a wonderful breakfast with my friend and ran a couple errands...finally got home after everything around 1:30....off to read now.
Amanda - seems like everyone has been fighting something lately...hope you feel better... and if you think you need to go home, do so!
Lora - I know it was wonderful to see DD and crew. My YDD is coming in for Thanksgiving and spending a week - I can't wait. I am excited for you to find a stray kitten; pretty soon it will be meowing for you to come out with the food - lol
