TAKE TIME TUESDAY... We need to TAKE TIME today to "remember"... remember why we are here - remember what WE need for ourselves - to live the best life we can live... WE need to remember WE ARE WORTH IT! We deserve to take some time for ourselves... as they say, if WE aren't happy and healthy - we can't help others that need us!!
I WILL "Take time today" to re-start my journal.... rethink each day of something I am grateful for ♥ I have been reminded/challenged...LOL... to find one thing to be truly thankful for each and every day!
I know, that's what November is all about, so I am a little late to the party... BUT... I am making up for it today! My November GRATEFULS: 1.) My health: Overall I have good health, and I need to remind myself of this even with some aches and pains! 2.) My family: Ken, kids, grandkids, sisters, aunt... I know I am fortunate to have my family - even if they are a PITA sometimes! 3.) My home: Again, a PITA sometimes, but love this house and all it has given us over the years. 4.) My job: This is the biggest challenge to be grateful for at this moment - but overall it has been (mostly) good for 21 years! 5.) My daughter-in-law, Patti ♥ I am very grateful that she is there, to be with and help Matt through this journey he is on. There that catches me up for the month! LOL
SO remember to TAKE TIME TUESDAY to be thankful for what we have in life ♥ Because next on my list is my friends ♥
When I started on this thread 13 years ago - I never in my life thought I would have some of my closest friendships across the miles of this country - but here we are. When I made that first trip to RI to meet Deb, I never dreamed, it would start the quest to meet each and every one of you at some point in time.
Thank you to all of you ♥

Good Morning ~ I really like today's theme Carole! Ahhh, Grateful November....will think about what I am Thankful for... 1. This Board. I am so Thankful I started the Journey of eating healthier, moving more, and knowing how to change things around all through my connections to each of you here. Thank you for making the time each day or each week to share a little bit about your life, your thoughts, your struggles and your successes. You have touched a place in my heart I carry! 2. I am Thankful for my job. It's not the healthiest but the paycheck has provided for my family and kept our house. 3. I am Thankful for my Girls and proud of them. I am in awe that DH and I formed this little family. Now I need some COFFEE in order to face this day

OK refilled my coffee - let's see if I can catch up! Sue: Yeah... the Hope Lodge in Boston, is for patients that live over 40 miles away from the treatment hospital... hoping to hear more tonight - when we are together for dinner. Tonight is a pasta bar, and BD celebrations for me & Patti.
No we are an Android family... they can still do Face Time and stuff... and Boston is only 2 hours away, so depending on the schedule, we can make time for a visit here and there for Zoë - IF she is healthy!!
OK The Thieves roller,,, was it a pre-made one? Or did you make it yourself?? I am willing to make my own - but never sure of the amount of oil vs the carrier... I am ordering at least 2 pre-made this month... one for our house and one for Tim's household. Jaclyn WILL roll it on - even Timothy if she feels he needs it! LOL
Ugh, we had heavy frost Sunday night... and this weekend we are expecting S-N-O-W... not enough to bother with - but still it is coming! Yeah leaving work as it is getting dark just ins't right!
Gabrielle: YAY Welcome home ♥ Yes you have certainly had a rough few weeks my friend {{{hugs}}}, but hey - You.Did.It.! NOW can you kind of sit back and just take time for yourself - here and there?? Wasn't it this time of year that you are passing the torch and your travel will be somewhat slowing down? Or did that happen already and I missed the part of you not traveling as much?? I just feel like November was that "point"... but I could be so far off base - you don't even know what I am talking about! LOL
So sorry about the loss of food due to the power issues! Are those outages over now?? I wouldn't be too quick to refill the freezer at this point!
YAY for time for a mani-pedi... especially after the night you put in for Ed!! SO proud of you for being there for him and he for you... ♥
Oh Zoë was fine when she got up... she slept a LOT... like 9:30 - 12:30 then 1 - 8:30 AM... I think it was simply her stuffy nose, made her cough/gag and threw up a little... got her and the bed changed - gave her more medicine and she was out! She had no fever during the night - and was fine in the morning - so off to school she went!
Hmmm, Matt's treatment? I am so confused by everything we have been told! I believe part of the reason for Hartford or MA Gen is his size. A lot of treatment centers, local hospitals, etc. don't have the equipment for heavy people! WHO KNEW?? Tracy said she takes a lot of "heavy" people out of here (locally) even for MRIs where they have to go to Boston for a machine large enough for them! Along with a combo treatment of chemo and radiation? I am so not sure... but I am willing to head to Boston.
I did read about the Hope Lodge, if he goes there, he has to have a caregiver with him - no children under 18 allowed to "stay", they can visit during regular visiting hours - in common areas, but not "Stay"! The rooms do not have kitchens, but there is a common kitchen area where he'd have his own refrigerator/freezer/cabinet space to house cooking supplies, and of course use the common kitchen area for prepping meals. Transportation is kind of "sketchy", meaning nothing solid written - but I'd do an Uber for the 4 mile 13 minute ride from loge to hospital...probably be worth the $$ to not have to park at MA Gen! LOL
Still so many things up in the air - and I am a planner... so of course my mind id already thinking how this can work - and we don't even know if this is what will end up happening! He is on vacation this week - so I imagine he will have more answers by the end of the week!
Yeah, my work people know about Matt... they "say" they will do what needs to be done... my boss even said she can get creative with my time card - but who knows how this will play out in the end!

OH Gabrielle - So proud of you for joining the December marathon to help this guy along!! You won't mess it up... you will be a great help to him {{{hugs}}}
YES! I am so glad I wasn't dreaming... this IS when you pass the torch on running the state meetings! WHEW!!!
Shelly: Hey GF... been thinking of you - like Gabrielle said, must be a busy time at the store for you!! YAY for DH getting his tractor... you called it "old" but it looks like it's in great shape! Is it "useable"? OUCH! Your poor Momma {{{hugs}}} hoping her surgery all goes well and she heals quickly!

Yesterday was a busy day -- more than I wanted it to be so I'm hoping to SLOW things down today. I joined Cheryl for breakfast at a local (new) little diner. Oh My! It was the best omelet EVER! I ordered one with sweet italian sausage, peppers, onions, swiss cheese and rye toast. I also kept my water re-filled in between coffee. Cheryl and I had a lovely time chatting and getting caught up on her family and my Girls Went straight to the audiologist for hearing aids check. All clear. All good. Dashed home to change into professional clothes and headed in to work before Conferences began. Chilly in there but not complaining since the HEAT is way way too high when they turn it on. They can't seem to find the balance there yet. Lots and Lots of parents. I made it a point to smile and visit with Teachers also to offer any support in interpreting the data I collected. Must say, our Teachers are USING it and seemed comfortable in sharing it with parents. YAY! I left with the Teachers. Usually I stick around, escort out late stragglers, turn off lights, and help lock up. Nope. Not this year. The Prince and his Deans were left to fend for themselves - plus I was TIRED. The time change hit hard. Will head in early today and work a regular day - actually will leave 'early' as there is no ChildCare!!!! Wow to leaving at 4:30 instead of 5:30/6:00 Carole - hopefully work is going to be flexible in covering for you should you have to take time off for Family. I am eager along with you to hear Matt's final decision on Treatment options. I didn't realize Zoe spent the night Sunday with you. What a coincidence you just happened to wake to hear her Sick - that maternal instinct!! Glad to hear she really was okay and fell right back to sleep - don't you wish WE could do that?? lol Sue - how was the Soccer game? Did Sarah say if Amanda behaved in front of her new man? I am SURE she did! lol I love that Hannah and Shea would set up FaceTime for their Boys when Shea was away - that is really heartwarming. And clever. Shelly - WOW to the new tractor! Yep, looks exactly how I imagine a Farm tractor should look LOL Hopefully your visit with DBIL was all good and you had time to relax. Gabrielle - 100 miles. STILL in awe here. I can only imagine how sore DH's muscles are and from such a steep climb! Here's hoping this week goes smoothly for YOU and Thursday/Friday goes without a hitch. Hooray for seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!!

Good morning Christine: Thanks hun... think I need to try to be more positive and uplifting around here in the morning... sort of sets the tone for my day! LOL
Yes so much to be thankful for - and yes you should be proud of your girls and your family ♥
YAY for breakfast with Cheryl - and good report on hearing - AND for knowing when to call it a day! WOO HOO to having a normal school day today!!!
LOL Sure do wish I could fall back to sleep as easy as she and Ken did! I slept well last night - guess I made up for it?!??
Oh yeah... IF I am needed to accompany Matt so he can stay in Boston instead of making the 80 mile drive each way - my work WILL be flexible about it... FMLA will be my friend! I also have quite a bit of vacation time "saved"... and at that point I guess I will not care much about my workload! I WILL offer to take a bank laptop... and get some of my stuff available if they will allow it. Even if I am using vacation time - if I am in a "hotel" for hours on end - I would not mind doing spreadsheets and General Ledger balancing!
OK Now it is time to get the day moving here... going to be another long one - but it is what it is!!
Oh Sue... you asked about working again this Saturday - no I can't. Both Zoë and Eden need to be here, and I won't lay that on Tracy. I may/may not go in the following Saturday - we'll see how this week goes. Met with Crystal, and she (again) says let it go - you can only do so much - yadda - yadda - yadda...
Debbie texted and it doesn't sound good for her return even next week! I fear she is NOT helping herself to get stronger. She is still staying with her DSIL, and says she can only sit up for a little while at a time - then has to lie down again... she has the go ahead to drive, but she doesn't feel strong enough to do that yet... I am imagining her DSIL "taking care" of her... and quite frankly - yeah um we'd all love the pampered life - BUT... even I know after surgery you have to make yourself get up and move... deal with some discomfort in order to regain strength... oh well - we'll see how it goes!!
Meanwhile - carrying on... ♥hugs♥

Good morning!
Yep, Track Tuesday today and I am feeling the "early" of it. I need one more night of good sleep to catch up for the weekend...will survive though and try to leave a little early today since I have to be over night at the meeting for Thurs/Fri. Thank you Carole, for reminding us of taking the time to appreciate what we have and be grateful. I am grateful for: 1. My family, both immediate and extended and their good health. 2. My health and my body that continues to provide me with the chance to do things that I want to do. 3. A job that is fulfilling and is helping other people. 4. Friendships that span years and miles. 5. So many things that give me a positive outlook on the future...a home, retirement plans...the things that make it possible to look forward to a future phase.
Thanks again Carole---I definitely don't take enough time to think this through!
Carole: Enjoy the celebration of your birthday --- sounds like a nice family-filled evening! Hey, you will do what you need to do (leave early, come in late, whatever) to support Matt and his family...and work will help you. No point in over thinking it right now, just know that it is there and not to worry. Sounds like this week is a key one in terms of decisions. I am so glad that you have such a good relationship with your kids and their spouses...it really pays off in times like this. Yes, you are right (GREAT memory) this Thurs/Fri is the LAST state meeting that I have to run....YAHOO!!! So excited about this! Less travel--I will still travel but definitely less extended travel. Hope that today is a good day...yesterday, being the first "dark" day when we left, was kind of hard!
Christine: Yay for leaving at a decent time today! That must have been SO hard yesterday (really being 9:00 pm)...what a way to start the time change. You will be so glad to leave tonight. Sounds like it went well though--and you got some time with Cheryl too--nice!
Shelly: Such a cute tractor! I can see why DH took to it! So sorry about your mom---hope that she can get her surgery soon and heal well--ankles are tough. Looking forward to having you back and hearing how things are going.
Okay, gotta go and get this show on the road---have a good day ladies. I should have more time tomorrow and will post. Have a good Tuesday and I am going to REMEMBER to be grateful, stop, breathe...

Morning all....boy, did I not want to crawl out from under my toasty warm covers. For some reason I got up to pee about 5 am and crawled back to bed and out like a light and when my alarm went off it scared the crap out of me!! But up I got and getting this day started.
No errands after work tonight...will come home, put the ham hocks in a pot to simmer to do the last of the green beans of the season! Will also finally get my baked eggs in the oven and can catch up here while all that cooks since the computer is right here in the dining room/kitchen!
Today is the last "warm" day...might hit 60° and then later in the week there is the dreaded "S" word!

Good morning! I'm on the clock to get ready again, but Carole I love your theme today! We get so busy being negative that we forget about how blessed we are.
I'm thankful for family (those gone before and living), friends, health (which I should take better care of), a flexible temp job, freedoms, protection and provision as it is said in prayers, and just waking up this morning and being upright (I include that because at one point with a misdiagnosed broken ankle, I was on crutches for 6 months, so I never take walking for granted anymore!).
Carole-glad Zoe recovered quickly. Yes I remember those things in the middle of the night, and also remember taking their temp in the morning and if they said they felt ok, good to go out the door! I hope that a treatment plan for Matt will be the next step in his recovery.
Gabrielle-good part of the week for normal for you I hope before overnight travel for meetings at the end of the week. I hope that the fire season is tapering off? I'm very strict about tossing questionable food, sorry you have to deal with that and restocking.
Christine-what a busy, long day yesterday for you...hope you can have a slower day today.
Sue-sounds like a good dinner. We hit 50's again today, but then Thursday a "mix" of snow/rain again. Just a prelude to winter.
Shelly-love the tractor, very cool, but being a farmer's daughter, I grew up on John Deere green!
Jenny-shoutout to you, hope you are having a good week!
I am very grateful for all of you taking me on board. I still email a couple of friends from an old WW thread, and I think I will reach out to them today because it's been awhile. Gotta get this hair dry...waving! My heart is full-thank you!!!

A few pix of Sarah’s van and the other car....the van will likely be totaled because 4 airbags deployed!

Evening all....time to catch up....the ham hocks are simmering away and I just took the baked eggs out of the oven. I put them in, then got something to eat, sorted a little mail and got in my comfy clothes before settling in and just as I sat down the eggs were done so they are cooling on the wire rack as I type!
Carole....thanks for getting our Monday started and "moving"!! I did get over 10k steps both yesterday and today! Sorry your night of sleep got disrupted by Zoe's coughing an bed change....glad she settled back down and went back to sleep. I wonder if she just coughed so hard she mad herself throw up....doesn't really sounds like a stomach bug!
WTG on the productive Sunday going through all the closet stuff...I did the same thing for the yard sale for Mason last spring and plan to purge again...some of the things I kept, I haven't worn at all so maybe I can weed out even more....I did do the hall closet and that really needs it, so does the coat peg board in the entryway.....it's behind the door and out of the way so I don't really notice it but I know there are things on there that haven't been worn in years....could be a decade! Might even find something that belongs to the girls....that's how long it's been since I even looked at it! Hopefully the bags won't be in the entry way too long!!
Christine...I think many of us are still on the "spring clock"....everyone at work was yawning all day today and we all think it's still the time change messing with our internal clock. I know I was up again at 5:00 this morning but did go back to sleep for the extra hour! Sounds like a good plan to set up somewhere closer to the classrooms for the conferences....hopefully you found a "home away from home" for the day!! Glad you had a nice visit with Linds....sorry her senoritis has set in already....are her roommates the same she has had most of college?? I forget?? Glad you are feeling better each day...hopefully your voice lasted through the day.....you don't have a lot of parent interaction with conferences, not like a regular teacher, right?? Glad you got to have a nice breakfast and a little time with Cheryl!!
Carole...according to Sarah the BF was there but as usual they sat "miles" away from Sarah and Josh....heaven forbid Colton's parents sit near each other and show support...usually if Josh and Sarah sit too close to her, she will move...she is just that immature and petty! Who knows how things will go down the road...but I know when Josh tried to introduce Sarah to Amanda many years ago, just to be respectful and let her interact a bit with Colton's stepmom...Amanda put her hand up in front of Sarah's face and said "I don't need to know who she is....she is no one in this situation"! And things have not changed.....
Well....Josh talked to the insurance adjuster last night and said they needed to go to Enterprise and get their rental today....well, she never followed through with the paperwork and notifying Enterprise so when they got there they had no record of their need for a rental! UGH! Needless to say they are not happy but thankfully we have the van to help them over the hump. They adjuster did tell them that with 4 air bags deployed at $4000-5000 per air bag to replace they will likely total it....several people at work told me the same thing.....the blue book value of their van now is about $18k to $19k so right there with air bags it's done! Who even knows about the rest of the body and engine damage. Hopefully they can find another 2015-16 Odyssey for a good price to replace it! Maybe even lower their car payment. This van still had about 15 payments or so left.....
Hi Gabrielle....glad you are finally back among the living....you have had a few VERY LONG weeks.....HOLY mackerel....that's a lot of climbing in Ed's run! I'm not sure why anyone would want to run 100 miles??? More power to him!! WOW...I'm sure by mile 67 people are getting tired and sore but THEY opted to do the race in the first place so taking it out on the people that are helping you along the ways is NOT right.....I'm sure many of the pacers know their runners well and let some of roll off their back, but still....that is NOT right! Glad you got to enjoy a little pampering with your mani/pedi!
Such a bummer about all the lost food....no, can't think of the cost since it really doesn't matter, it's gone. Was the food in the fridge freezer or a chest freezer??? They say if you don't open a chest freezer and it's pretty well stocked, it will last for up to a week. I remember the year I broke my arm when we lost power for over 4 days, the stuff in the freezer was rock solid!! The fridge freezer too!! Guess 7 days is getting right on the edge!
LOL Gabrielle....many people still think Hannah & Sarah are twins. It's funny, a couple people at the Y many years ago thought I only had 1 daughter....the girls' practices/work schedules rarely overlapped so for many years they weren't in the gym at the same time....one day, one of the other coaches saw me with both girls and he said "there are two of them?"! I laughed and said, "yup, has been 2 most of their lives...they are 16 months apart"! He was dumbfounded! I laugh now when FB actually sends me messages that says "Hannah/Sarah posted a picture of you, would you like to tag yourself" and when it check the pictures....it's usually them! Not only do they look like each other....they look like me! LOL!
No Gabrielle...I don't add brussel sprouts to the beef stew, but that does sound good...I always add them to my pot roast when I do it in the oven and do the "all day" version adding the veggies when they should be added so everything finish perfectly cooked at the same time!
Shelly....so glad you got to pop in! I LOVE the picture of the Farmall tractor! That is what Jason's uncles had on the farm....brings back memories. Someone around here has one and when it comes up the street Jason recognizes the way it sounds! Oh no...sorry to hear about your DM ankle. Hopefully they can get her blood sugar, BP and everything else under control so they can do the surgery! Keep us posted! Healing vibes coming for your mom! ♥♥♥
