This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Good morning friends.
Not much happening here today. Mostly laundry at the moment. DH finally decided that he'd rather to the ATL all on Friday, instead of splitting it up and staying over. It saves him a day of PTO, and honestly even though it makes for a long day, I'm fine with that plan.
Jana - I hope today is a little less overwhelming. I remember how hard it is to get caught up with things that have piled up, as well as handling new things that come in. Pace yourself, you'll get it all accomplished in due time.

First of all - this was my post from yesterday that I did not finish and did not post
Hi Ladies....up and to the gym, then Stitch Therapy (the neighborhood sewing group) where we were making Christmas or holiday ornaments for our clubhouse tree, next we will be off to vote and then I am taking the 2 youngest DGC to the zoo, then bridge this evening....a normal crazy day!
Now for today...got to the gym again today and am about to head to mah jongg...a little less busy today.
Jana - so happy to see you back and hear how amazing your vacation was....now just take one step at a time trying to get caught up, dealing with DF, and trying to work through everything. You have had quite a bit on your plate. If you feel that you are really not dealing be sure to see a Dr and together you can find something that may help you get through this difficult time. THinking of you....
Lora - have a good time Friday....sometimes I like being in the car just so I can read. How is the kitty doing???
OK...off and running

Good afternoon ladies.
Today is a little less hectic for me at work. I am organized at least now and working through everything. I imagine there will be some overtime in my near future but one day at a time right?
Yesterday I went by the credit union after work to try to get my parent's checking account straight. I need to go with my dad and just open a joint account in his name and my name. Just trying to work through the process one thing at a time. I am sure I will forget things and to be honest I am not even 100% sure what all needs to be done.
There are moments when I look around me and all I can think about is all the stuff that needs to be done. It makes me tired and then I usually don't do anything - lol. I get more done when I am just moving from task to task.
Lora did you get a new kitty? Any news on DH's oral surgery? How is he doing with that? Did you rejoin the gym? I thought I had seen something to that effect at some point.
Susie you are always so busy. A sewing group sounds fun. Read any good books lately. I just read 2 books. One on vacation Janet Evanovich, I think she is hilarious - I can't remember if it was 25 or 26 - but it was one in the series she does. I also just read "Then She Was Gone" by Lisa Jewel. It was really good and I couldn't put it down. I have one more at home that I bought but I can't remember the name of it. I haven't started it yet.
Hope everyone else is doing well.

Jana - we didn't exactly get a kitty as I am allergic, but we've had a stray hanging around. She seems young. Not a kitten, but a young adult cat. Fairly small. She seems to have been previously socialized, so not completely feral (yay!). She is terribly sweet. It looks like it will at minimum several months before DHs surgery. Even with out the stint apparatus, the hole remains open and drainage is still happening. They want to take advantage of this as long as possible. The smaller it is at surgery time, the less tissue and bone damage they have to do to remove it, and therefore the less reconstruction they'll have to do.
Susie - kitty just couldn't be any sweeter. I was in the laundry room this morning and peeked out the window, and here she came prancing down the stepping stones to the patio. By the time I finished moving the laundry to the dryer and came to the kitchen, she was sitting on the top step next to the door and peeping in. Naturally, I fixed her a bowl and set it out for her. I took a couple of cute pictures of her yesterday and today. I'll try to post them soon.

Good evening ROs. Another bad sleep night for me, have been up again since 3:30 and I'm kind of beside myself. I'm trying to keep my sense of humor and perspective but I'm so tired of feeling tired. At least these days I am falling asleep easily. I just can't get back to sleep when I awaken in the early morning. And I'm now cooking dinner for DSon and family since I'm going there tomorrow evening, making a beef stew in my IP but it's taking a longer time than I expected to get up to pressure and I promised DN that we'd go to the gym tonight. Plus I really want to go to the gym tonight. I'm pretty strung out, as you can probably tell.
Work was ok, no major issues today. My board president is making me laugh these days, is so fed up with the rebellious contingent and expresses his frustration in a way that feels very satisfying to me. At least there's that. Our next big date for merger stuff is November 25th. Keep your fingers crossed.
Jana, so glad to see you posting. I can imagine you would be overwhelmed! On top of everything your DF sounds like a handful and just the idea of moving him in with you with all the drinking and complaining... Sending lots of light and love your way. You'll get through all the stuff that needs to be taken care of, one thing at a time, and it will take as long as it takes. Don't forget you're also grieving your mom's death and that has got to be taking a toll on you as well.
Lora, the kitty sounds so sweet. I love how cats seem to find you when you're the one with allergies! Since putting my last cat down I thought I'd only have another cat if one adopted me but so far it hasn't happened, and DD tells me their young cat/kitten has taken to peeing on her sofa and she's really upset about it. The cat may have a UTI but DD can't really afford more vet bills and her dog needs a teeth cleaning and has a skin tag that needs to be taken off and that's not happening. DD lives on the edge for sure, and just hearing about all of this reminds me I don't want more pets right now. An outdoor kitty sounds about right.
Susie, you sound phenomenally busy as usual. How are the hearing aids working out? I think you're super courageous and admirable to just deal with this. Having lived with DF who was hard of hearing and my grandmother as well, I can see what a terrible impact hearing loss can have on quality of life, both for the person with the hearing loss and for the family.
OK, I better go get ready for the gym. Maybe it will help me sleep. I am even thinking about setting my alarm for 1 AM and taking Ambien to get me past the dreaded 3:30 hour...
Have a good evening all.

I uploaded a couple of pictures pf my cat buddy on FB.
Andi - you are 100% correct. DDs two cats make a bee line for me every time I step into her house. haha. Luckily I'm not as allergic as I used to be.
