Create Time and Energy
You need time to: - Plan meals - Make lists - Shop for food - Cook - Eat slowly - Exercise - Read your response cards
You need mental energy especially when sabotaging thoughts get in the way.
The book talks about looking at your diets requirements and figuring out how much time it is going to take.
There’s also a chart to fill in a typical week to find more time.
Questions: - Looking at the “You Need Time To: “ list above, how much time a day/week do you spend on those dieting activities? - Which one of those would help you the most if you spent more time on it?

Questions:
- Looking at the “You Need Time To: “ list above, how much time a day/week do you spend on those dieting activities? - Plan meals 90 minutes on Friday or Saturday for the entire following week. - Make lists 20 minutes on Friday or Saturday, after I make my meal plan. - Shop for food 60 minutes at Wal-Mart and 30 minutes at Kroger, once a week. (I wish I could find everything I want at one store so I don't have to go to several places!) Plus maybe another 30 minutes mid-week if I run out of something. - Cook 20 minutes for breakfast, 20 minutes for lunch, 10 minutes for afternoon break, 45 minutes for supper - Eat slowly 15-20 minutes - Exercise 60 minutes twice a week for boxing class; 60 minutes on another day at Planet Fitness for weights and treadmill; 20 minutes several afternoons walking around the block - Read your response cards 0 minutes. I forget all about it.
- Which one of those would help you the most if you spent more time on it? I think I do pretty well. I don't really want to spend more time at it.

You need time to: - Plan meals: I never have- Make lists: Usually make a list before going shopping (5-10 minutes - less if I have it already started and add to it as I go)- Shop for food: We do a big shop maybe every other week and it might take an hour there and half hour each direction to-ing and fro-ing- Cook: depends on what is on the menu...sometimes a few minutes and other times more but most meals don't take more than half an hour - Eat slowly: never timed it before- Exercise: working on this...1/2 hour per day (or more) is the goal- Read your response cards: hmmm...
NOTE: Asked my daughter to bring the book...the Beck book...maybe she will bring it when she comes in December

I have ample time for all of it. My only time wasters are TV, reading and spending time online. Although I don't consider reading a waste of time, BTW.

You need time to: - Plan meals -- Very few minutes a day. I eat pretty much the same thing all the time, and only have a few dinners I do. - Make lists -- Grocery list about 30 minutes a week between one big shop and running out in the middle of the week. - Shop for food -- Big shop can take up to 90 minutes or more from house to house. Smaller shops to the local IGA market can take about 20 minutes. - Cook -- I don't cook many meals. I balance the prep with making and eating my salad. When I cook about 30 to 40 minutes. - Eat slowly -- An extra 5 - 15 minutes per meal. - Exercise -- I do a small amount of exercise now but I'm building up the time. - Read your response cards -- I usually don't read them but I often think of some of the reasons when different situations come up.
I would like to spend more time exercising and am working on it.

Plan meals - 5 min/week. I do this with far too much haste. I need to have a better handle on what my family likes and how/if I can fit that into my diet. Make lists - 5-10 min/week Shop for food - 1 -2 hours/week Cook - 1-3 hours/day Eat slowly - adds on 5-10 min/meal = 15-30 min daily Exercise - 0. I need to do this one, badly. Read your response cards - I don't do this either. I just need to make a reminder or better yet, put them in my bujo.
I would like to spend more time on meal planning, exercise, and those response cards! This week I will start with the response cards.

I should add I don't read my response cards any more. But I have my notebook always available with them all if I should feel the need.
