Can someone give me a good recipe for pecan appetizers/snacks? I bought a bag of pecan halves today at Sams and want to make some to have out on Christmas Eve for a family lunch we are having at my house. I've had them prepared different ways and I know there are a million recipes on the internet but I'd like to hear some of the tried and true recipes from the great cooks right here!

I think I would just toss them in melted sugar. There is nothing better than candied nuts*. *yeah, I know.

I want to try some baked nuts, salty and/or sweet. I've looked at a few recipes for both. The cooking times have varied greatly on different sites and I am a bit confused as to which one to go with.

gottakeeptryin I used to use the southern living one years ago, now when I make them I just google "easy pecan pralines" cause I am lazy like that, they are all pretty much the same, I do take the candy out a tad early since it keeps cooking, like 4* early but it is really simple to make.

These are really easy and good and easy. www.hersheys.com/rolo/recipes.aspx?id=8631Ingredients 1 Small twisted pretzels 1 ROLO® Chewy Caramels in Milk Chocolate 1 Pecan halves Directions Heat oven to 250°F. Line cookie sheet with parchment paper or foil. Place one pretzel for each pretzel treat desired on prepared sheet. Top each pretzel with one unwrapped ROLO® Chewy Caramel in Milk Chocolate. Bake 3 to 5 minutes or until caramel piece begins to soften, but not melt. Remove from oven; top with either pecan half or additional pretzel. Cool completely.

I don't have my cookbooks, but I used to make a roasted pecan that was in the Fannie Farmer cookbook (dating myself!) They were roasted on a pan in the oven, very low temp, and then salted. Heaven.

Yes! This is what I was originally talking about! So many different variations on the web. May try googling Fannie Farmer roasted pecans and see what I come up with.
