I can continue to move, track and hydrate. The scale is going down because I am eating less, not snacking and being mindful of portions My board meeting is this morning and I’ll be bringing snacks I won’t eat. DH is just going to work a half day and DS invited us for dinner (watch those portions Audrey) Cathy, a friend suggested I read The Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware, which she said was a page turner. Sending love and prayers to those in pain. I hope everyone feels better.

Bob is a Vietnam veteran but doesn’t participate in any activities. Fresno has a huge parade. I used to take our children to it but now I just watch tv highlights avoiding the crowds and traffic.

We talked to our daughter and granddaughters via Skype last night and I keep in touch with my daughter through WhatsApp in between Sunday chats. Today we will probably go shopping (again) as hubby wants to make sure we have food for a month or two and that means assessing the dry and canned goods in the kitchen. So...will do that later this morning or perhaps in the afternoon. I have no idea what the roads will be like on Wednesday or how many will show up for lunch. SO...I will perhaps have some things made ahead and have other things ready to make and let the ladies help me depending on who shows up. I made guava sauce/jam/whatever yesterday from the fruit hubby brought in from the garden. Have eight jars to store somewhere in the crowded kitchen cupboards! There are more guava outside on the trees!
SUSI: Your sister was lucky in her brother-in-law when her husband died. We have a few Lebanese lawyers in my children's age group so would perhaps rely on them and hope they are honest. It sounds like you had two wonderful evenings of food and friends this weekend. I remember trying to find a church when the children were little and we lived in Virginia. The first time we visited the local denomination my family had belonged to in Iowa I made a beeline for the door and never returned. Eventually we opted for the Methodist church because...my children were young and enjoyed the donuts between Sunday school and church service...go figure
ANN: I like your idea of doing church on your own. Living in Lebanon there was a nearby church when I first came to the country that had ex-pats, was in English and met at the nearby university. I went there for awhile then opted to buy felt board stories and put them up for my children at home...it was not safe to go outside then. I have since let that all lapse and one time remember my husband saying, "I wonder why people don't worship stones. Stones are probably wise as they have been longer than any of us." How exciting to have a new cuisinart! A breakfast and buffet...am guessing that that will be breakfast and lunch and if the buffet is big enough - even dinner!
BEE: Will join you in KOKO
BECKY: How nice to have a pastor and wife who fit the small community church you belong to. Sorry your knees are not cooperating
AUDREY: I looked at the book you mentioned on Goodreads. That is my go-to place to read reviews about books before requesting to read/review. I usually learn more from the negative than the positive reviews. The book you mentioned about the nanny and a dead child told in a letter written by the nanny had mixed reviews. If I see it in the shops or up for review I might give it a try. Isn't amazing how eating right and in the right amount sees the scale moving down again?
Hubby is gearing up for the olive harvest. He needs to check the equipment and secure people to do the work and also find the press he plans to take the olives to.

Good morning, Audrey - Ann - Becky - Cathy - Pam - Bee - Amy - and AWF!
Prayers continue for all ailing and/or stressed posters and loved ones... and thank you for your prayers for me and my family... especially for the Mouseketeer...

Yesterday the Young Marines marched in the township Veterans Day parade, stepping off at 1:30 PM. Afterward, they were invited to American Legion Post 87 for chow. They did a good job! And the temps warmed up just enough that it was not too cold or too hot (since they'd worn extra layers under their BDUs). We got home in time to watch the last stage of the NASCAR Monster Energy Cup race.
Since Son#1 is WFH today (no DivaTaxi!), the Kressling stayed over another night and is enjoying his mini-vacation from his brothers. Toots is going to do MHMR so I'll go directly to LA-F for 9:30 AM. Then we'll figure out the rest of the day. Schools are still closed, today for Veterans Day.
My gut is much better with the addition of the acidophilus tablets on a regular schedule and keeping everything very simple food-wise <sigh>. I'll be calling my primary today in any case, to see if there's anything else I can do. Also to see if she's got any suggestions for re-introducing other foods besides ramen, chicken soup, and chicken breast. Like maybe a vegetable?
Ginger tea... ☕☕☕... and sunrise... a beautiful start to the day...
🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂 Have a healthy-eating day, all! 🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂
The Kressling is the tall one with the American flag.

Thank you Bob, Carl, Toots and any I missed for your service. This morning's spin class was lead by a former marine and included a military medley and ended with Proud To Be An American. It was very touching and a damn hard class! Audrey - Enjoy dinner with your family tonight. Nice to go there for a change. Ann - Enjoy your indulgent day. You have all week to reign it in. Becky - Hope you can get in your movement today. Cathy - Glad you got to chat with family last night. Hope all goes well with your shopping and that you get a good turnout on Wednesday. It's so hard in these uncertain times. Reset button is a good thing Pam KOKO is also a good thing Bee Good luck with the purple plan Amy And I'm sure he enjoys the one on one time with you as well. Hope your doctor has some suggestions. I have lunch out with DGF today. They have mussels fra diablo that are excellent, with just a little bread to sop up the sauce. Then my challenges for the week are over.

Good morning all and a happy Veteran's Day. I thank you all for those of you that served the great USA. MJ so happy that you are feeling better. Love the picture and sounds like you had a nice day yesterday. Always great when the weather cooperates. Good luck with your PCP phone call. Hopefully you'll get to introduce more foods. Welcome Amy. Good luck on the purple plan Keep us posted as to how that works out for you. Bee you and I will be KOKO. I'll have that handy dandy reset button to push tomorrow Hi Pam good luck with reset and aware glasses. Cathy so happy you got to 'talk/see' your family. Amazing little things like skype keep us in the loop. I did try to find a church with a 'good fit' but never quite captured the churches of my youth. Things have changed. I'm happy with doing my own thing. Becky our weather is supposed to turn much colder on Tuesday as well. They are also talking about 'white flurries' Hopefully it won't be too bad, as Carl has his urology appointment at 2:30! Audrey Carl was also Vietnam era. He was on the aircraft carrier, the America and never saw action. Waving to June LaDonna Susi and anyone I may have missed. Have a wonderful day, all!

Many thanks to all who have served and currently serve!
Great, busy weekend. Enjoyed so much Jayleigh spending the night with us on Friday. She is growing up so fast. She is so fun loving and such a joy to be around! Her 7th birthday is coming up soon. Saturday the reception for our church member was excellent and Sunday we had two back to back funerals to attend. Now back to work. I sure could have used another day! Will do what I know I should today. and KOKO
Audrey, good job moving that scale. book sounds good.
Ann, good plan to enjoy the festivities today and get back on track tomorrow.
Cathy, sounds like a good idea to get stocked up on non parishable food. I know it means the world to be able to talk and keep up with your family here in the states. technology is so wonderful for that.
Bee, LOL have a great day.
MJ, glad to hear you are better.
Becky, weather here is just beautiful! chill but sunny. Colder temps coming in later this week. Hope the colder temps wont make your knee feel worse.
Susi, lunch sounds great!

Back from our fun day. TG Donna went over to sit a bit with LuLa as we were running late. She is a sweetheart for sure.
LaDonna so sorry for the back to back funerals. Happy that you enjoyed your time with Jayleigh. I hear you on wanting just one more day.....
Yes, tomorrow I shall hit that reset button.
Time to finish up a few things online before I sign off for the day.
