Good morning.
This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection

Good morning.
Susie thanks for getting us started this morning. I don't blame you for being tempted to skip the gym this morning. It sure is cold outside but it is supposed to get up into the 40s today. After being in the 20s all day yesterday I will take 40. Brrrr.
Lora I also understand your issue with making it to the gym. I go back and forth on rejoining. I know working out and getting some exercise will make me feel better but I know I will have a hard time making myself go. The only good side is if I join the YMCA I can cancel that membership at any time...……… I haven't completely decided what I am going to do yet.
I need to get new tires on my car and I have an appointment to drop my car off tomorrow to get that done. I hate spending so much $ on my car but I know I need them.
I have a dentist appointment after work today. I didn't go see my dad or call him at all yesterday. Of course, he did not call me either - so I suppose I shouldn't feel guilty but I still do a little bit. I am going to try to call him later this morning and just check in on him. Robin almost has his office cleaned out. As soon as he does we will be going to buy my dad a new bed to put in there (a twin because the room is so small). After the bed is in we can start moving him in. I hope we can get Robin's office completely moved this weekend. Now that Robin has his truck - moving should not be a huge deal. We have until the end of the year to get him out.
DH and I have our last concert for this year tomorrow night. I keep forgetting about it. IT will be nice for us to have a little date night after everything.
I hope everyone has a great day and everyone stays WARM.

Good morning friends!
It's 36 here this morning, so chilly but tropical compared to 18/12 yesterday morning. Ha! I think I'll make an Aldi run either today or tomorrow. I'm in an Aldi FB group and people are raving about the winter leggings (although they say to buy the next size up because the run small) and the flannel sheet sets. I might give both a try if my store has any left. Also they're supposed to have the holiday coffee pack out so there are a few flavors I'm wanting to try.
Susie - I don't blame you for the urge not to go to class. Yesterday I certainly gave in to the urge to just roll over and go back to sleep. Kudos to you for making it happen.
Jana - I truly miss my YMCA. It was so convenient and all of the different classes and times available was outstanding. There is a Y about 15-20 miles from here (between her and Huntsville), but it is truly a "small town Y" so I haven't even looked into the possibility as I'm guessing the offerings are probably mostly kids sports teams kind of stuff. Maybe I should take a look just to know though. Yay for your date night! I hope you have a wonderful time.

I've been struggling quite a bit the past week or so. I just wanted to swing by and say hello.

First grief counseling session went well. It was mostly just 2019 back ground on what has gone on for me this year. Another session is scheduled for later this month. She did leave me her cell phone # and email address and told me to call, text or email anytime. I thought that was a nice gesture.
Amanda I am so sorry to hear that you have been struggling. Anything you want to share? You can DM on FB if you would like. Just know this is a wonderful group here and we are always here for you. You all have been so patient, kind and understanding with me.
One of my favorite co-workers is in the office with me today. We are going to go to lunch together.
Lora it certainly does not hurt to look into what the Y has to offer, you might be surprised.
I am definitely feeling the need for self care at the moment. I haven't checked on my dad today - and I know I need to.
Waving to all.

Hi everyone,
Thought that I posted yesterday when I got home, but obviously that didn't happen.
Jana, glad you got in to see the counselor! I know that I have been glad that you have been able to come here and get things off your chest, and vent, and just generally feel free to say what you want to. We all go through things, you know?
Amanda, I'm sorry you have been having a rough week. Like Jana said, please feel free to speak your mind or anything. I'm glad you are checking in!
Lora, I was laughing about the ice sliding off of your roof! Its good that we are all getting some warmer temps today. It was no fun yesterday. Would the YMCA in the other town be convenient? I guess not as much as the little one nearer to you. Susie, good for you, for making yourself go! I know I always feel better when I make myself do something that I know I should, or need to do. HA!
Well, I will bbl, I just wanted to check in and see if I could post from work.

Hi all!
I'm just back from Aldi, the big grocery store and filling up with gas. By the time I make those rounds, get home and get everything put away it's a 2.5 to 3 hour trip.
So I did look up the YMCA, and sadly it's exactly what I expected. Only rec league sports & sports field. I suspected that would be the case, because it's in a little community that's not much bigger than my own. So I'll just stick with what I have and try to do better about actually going.
Amanda - I'm sorry you have been having a hard time. Anything we can do?
RobinMD - yeah, I was laughing too once I figured out what all the commotion and noise was with the ice exiting the roof. Haha. It's not a ton warmer, but 30s - low 40s is still much improved over 20s and teens here. So I'll gladly take it.
Jana - Oh I'm glad things went good. It sounds like you have made a bit of a connection with this counselor, maybe? That should be helpful as well I would think.
Oh! Aldi finds....I bought a couple of pair of the plush leggings to try out and a set of flannel sheets. I've got the sheets in the wash now. I mean, for $14.99 for a flannel sheet set, you really can't go too terribly wrong there. Even if they only last through this winter, I'll have no problem turning them into car washing rags and buying a new set next winter. I can't wait to slide between flannel tonight. The first few minutes on the soft but COLD Egyptian cotton has been teeth chattering the last week or so. Haha.

Well, I ended up going to the clubhouse gym...at least I only had to walk past one house and cross the street...I rode the bike and read for 35 minutes and then did a few stretches - then I was back at home. I am not going out again until DH and I go to Bonefish for dinner with a gift card DSon got DH for his birthday WITH an extra BOGO free dinner card - yippee.
Jana - glad you had the counseling session. When we moved DM from Maryland to an assisted living place in Richmond, we just brought a twin bed from her house and a couple pieces of furniture. Is DF looking forward to staying with you? Like you said, the nice thing about the Y is that you can quit whenever you want...on the other hand, if you don't think you will really go, there is no sense in wasting the money. Maybe you should just try to take a walk each day (of course it could be pretty cold, but that is one sure-fire way to warm up - lol).Enjoy lunch ...
Lora - yep, you should definitely stick with the little gym. I never really liked flannel sheets...maybe if I got a really, really soft set. I went to bed last night with 2 night shirts on though - ha! I think I need to get out another blanket.
Amanda - hope all is OK.
RobinMD - yeah that you can post from work!
OK...off to read

Jana, I give you a lot of credit for having your dad come live with you, my guess is that it is not going to be easy. It is an adjustment, but hopefully it will work out. You certainly have had a tough year.
Susie, it wasn't even as cold up here when I got up, but not much warmer. By 9 am though it had warmed up to 34. Unusual for us to have such cold overnights this time of year.
Amanda, {{{hugs}}} to you.
Lora, sorry that the YMCA was not better than you expected. I know whenever I go out to do errands, even though things are much closer, before I turn around I have been out for 2 hours doing whatever I have to do.
Hi to Robin. Last night I went to an author night, there were about 50 women, all from a Facebook book club group. It turned out that there were 5 women named Robin there. I never thought it was a very common name before. What really gets me is that when Jana talks about Robin and it is her DH.
I have been busy at work, but now DH is out of town at a conference so I am getting quiet time once I am home. Except of course the dog barking because he keeps thinking he hears DH coming home. Why he wants that when I am the one who feeds and walks him I have no idea.
Andi, when you mentioned that SF pumpkin spice Coffee Mate, I ended up seeing it at the store and buying it. Not sure if I really like it that much, not enough of the pumpkin spice taste, and it has a thicker taste than I really like.

Hi Everyone, Most nights I start posting but I start falling asleep as I am trying to write so many times I don't finish or I am writing nonsense. Jana, glad that you started the grieving counseling. I hope that the transition to help your father move goes smoothly. Amanda, I am sorry that you have had difficulties this past week. I need to get to the gym this weekend . I had my gym stuff so should have gone but didnt so great that Susie went for all of us today. lol! I have left a bit later the past two days and tommorow is our family literacy night so will be leaving work even later. We also have federal Head Start reviewers coming tommorow. Ugh! They could come to my room too but most likely will focus on the classes that have the Head Start classes more. My friend was asked to be interviewed by some reviewers and I know she is nervous about it even tho it isnt face to face. I am looking forward to the weekend although I dont have any special plans really. Have a great night!

Hello again,
Just getting here, due to some internet connection issues here at home. I get so frustrated. It is the second time this week, and I feel like I am paying for service that has been pretty sketchy lately. Anyway.... its back now.
Lora, too bad about the Y. I guess it is good that you have the little local gym, though. I always tell myself, "I'll just go for 20 minutes", thinking that even a little bit is better than nothing, and then once I'm there, I end up doing a nice little workout. I always do my workouts to music, and that keeps me going longer by listening to just "one more song"! It works for me! Glad you got your shopping done. I think I'll run by Aldi this weekend and see if they still have any leggings. Did you find the sizing to be a little smaller, also? Boy, I know what you mean about flannel sheets. Maybe I can find some of those, too. I had a set for my old queen bed, but now that I have my grandmother's full size, I need a new set! Susie, Bonefish sounds great! Especially with the discount..
Jana, it sounds like things are coming together, getting ready for your dad. I hope this will be helpful for all of you, but I know it will be hard, too. Thank goodness, your Robin is on board with the plans. That is not always the case. I sure have been thinking of you. I hope your lunch was good and you were able to enjoy your friend's company! I am glad that I am off again this weekend, and hope to continue the super-cleaning trend. I still need to paint some trim on the pool shed, but it is going to be cold, at least on Saturday, so I will focus on doing things inside. Laundry is always needing to be done, too, so that is another chore to take care of. Hopefully, tomorrow will not be terrible. You never know on Fridays! I'm going to get some things ready for work tomorrow, and hopefully get a good night's sleep. I hope everyone has a good Friday, and I will be back. I am waving to all I missed,
RobinMD
