Good morning and Happy Friday!
This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection

Hi Everyone...slept in a little, but got up and went to see DGS's swimming lesson and then rode the bike at my regular gym (not the clubhouse gym). DH and I went into the model next door where they were having an open house--then I made a quick run to Aldi's. DS, DGS, and DDIL went camping after DGS's swim lesson with the scouts....brrrrrr...hope they are OK tonight.Seems like is getting colder and colder by the minute and it is so windy.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend...just thought I would get us started.

Hi Everyone,
As usual was up pretty early but not quite as early as normal which would be around 5:30 when I get up for work. Hung around for a while. Finally called and made an appointment for my regular opthamalogist. Got myself together and went to Walmart for a few and the Dollar Store. Met my friend and the guy from our club for lunch at the same restaurant we ate at last week. They went to a bird viewing sponsored by the Audubon Society at this mansion not too far from where I live. I had been in the mansion before. They had an opportunity to see inside the mansion afterwards I decided I really wasnt that interested in the event so didnt attend.
I picked up the copy of Where the Crawds Sing so between doing some vacuuming and a load of laundry I plan to sit down and start reading it tonight. Its really cold so I have no desire to be out so much tonight. Susie, I hope everyone manages with camping. I hope they will be in cabins at least. I remember a few trips with scouts where it was very cold and we didnt have the experience with getting fires ready and the leader was real late getting up to camp and she was mad with us for not getting a fire ready in the cabin. Oh well. What did she expect as young teenagers? Tommorow I will be helping out my friend as usual. I offered to take her to see her husband but she says she'd rather me shop. I said I could do both. She says she is having difficulty breathing and dressing herself. She smokes a lot and although she has cut back on the full cases of cigarettes I am sure she is going through probably more than she does on a normal basis. If I offer to take her to the er or something she will refuse to go. I am sure she is afraid. Have a great rest of the day.

Janet, good choice to stay in and read, it's cold and windy, so the wind really cuts through you. I loved that book! I hope you do too.
Susie, I cannot imagine camping with kids in this weather. My DH was just in DC for a conference, and was telling me it was warmer there. Yes, 4 degrees warmer, but seeing as we are about 15 degrees or more below normal for this time of year, it was still cold down there.
Some of the other wives I am friends with were there, but honestly, I didn't feel like going and thought I might as well stay home. When it's not nice enough to walk around, sometimes we just get together for breakfast or lunch, so not really worth it. The spring conference is the week after my DDIL's due date, so guess I won't go to that one either.

Good evening ROs. Had an epic day today - got to the gym a little after 7 to walk on the treadmill because I knew I'd be sitting around all day - 5 hours of driving plus going to my DB's 65th birthday party where we sat and ate for hours. I'm finally back home and I'm totally fried. Tomorrow I just have a hair cut and color in the morning and my usual weekend chores. Looking forward to a day at home. This past week went off the charts in terms of stress and I'm having trouble letting go, both of the craziness at work and what's happening in our country. I swear the reason my blood pressure has been up the last two doctor visits is because of both of these! I wonder if there's been any research about the health of people who anguish about the politics of the US right now. I'd like to volunteer for that study, but even more I wish there were a way to take care of myself better.
The party was loads of fun, I have to say, great food, great conversation, a real celebration. My sibs and I are super close and it is just so affirming to look at one another and feel this unique connection that has spanned 6 decades. I'm very lucky.
Janet, I also hope you love the book. And I can't believe your scout leader was made at young teens for not making a fire! She's lucky you all didn't burn the place down.
Susie, brr, I would not want to be camping tonight, supposed to be in the teens here overnight with that biting wind. Happy to be in my warm home with the heat blasting.
RobinS, What kind of conference was the conference in DC? I love being there in springtime with the cherry blossoms. Not so much in winter though, don't blame you for staying home.
Have a good evening all.

Andi, it was the National Academy of Elderlaw Attorneys. My DH is a past president. I am thinking at some point they might put DS on the board, and if he has time, he might move up. He has chaired things for them, and is on committees. The current president happens to love him, and she could potentially nominate him for the board when she chairs the nominating committee, which is the year after her presidency, I think. He is also involved in the NY Bar section, so was at their conference last month in Saratoga. The other thing he goes to is a week long Trust and Estates conference that is in Orlando every January.
Glad that you had such a good time celebrating with your DB and family. It is very nice to be close to your siblings. Me and mine have our ups and downs, depends on who is not getting along with who, and I am usually the peace maker, although my DH could always be mad at my DB over something, although when I need them, they are there for me, so can't complain. I hope you won't be out much freezing yourself doing errands tomorrow. I did enough today that I don't think I will have to go out tomorrow except to walk the dog, but it won't be quite as cold here.
