WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

Lori β I like the idea of lite vanilla ice cream (1/2 cup) on the cake. Or maybe lite or SF cool whip as long as Iβm not too generous with the portion. What do you think of adding a packet of Splenda to the batter?
Jan β Congrats to DS on the swimming meet. It must be really exciting to watch.
Louise β Like your Simply Start, I find the Lactaid FF to be more like 1 or 2% than skim milk. Thatβs why I use it, even though I am not Lactaid intolerant.
Quiet day on our board. I guess everyoneβs busy preparing for the holidays.

Morning, BFF's! We have our holiday luncheon today at work at a nearby restaurant. Nothing much to report, other than that.
Nancy - No holiday preparations, just busy at work yesterday. Re: the Chinese food, we brought it in. I just got an egg roll and ended up also having one rib and a little rice. The only other thing I may get from there on occasion is steamed vegs and chicken. I'm not a fan of American Chinese, but do need an egg roll fix every now and then.
Jan - Congrats to DS on his meet!
Lori - Good luck with all your Christmas prep.
Louise Glad you got out to the stores and were able to restock.

Protein 18/21 Calories 18/21
Good morning! It's a whooping 6 degrees out, so it will be another indoor run for me. I found out last Wednesday that my limit is 12, lol. There's still some ice and hard snow on the side of the road, so it would be risky running outside anyway.
Nancy and Edesia, I've been using Fairlife skim milk. It has more protein than regular milk and I think it's a little creamier.
Lori, are your kids coming home for Christmas?
Edesia, enjoy your holiday party!

C27D8 G10Y4R5 29 SP Treat count 25/37 Yesterday's walking 3 FP Today's walking I had some dedicated but didn't use my stopwatch function. So far my total steps are 4030
Jan-I'll beat you with a 3.7 temperature. The roads in here are too icy for me to walk outside also. Temp had dropped to 3 by the time I left the house.
Have been keeping up with the weather forecast for Thursday. Basically there's a chance of snow all day with temps making it above freezing here but not at DM's. Not my favorite kind of day for traveling.
Another good eating day. I even managed to not take another Quest Bar and have fruits instead when something happened that upset me. That was also the reason I didn't use the stopwatch on the dedicated walking, I was too keyed up.
So what caused that? Around 1 PM I started to hear a beeping tone. I determined right away that it was coming from my heater. I also noticed the light labeled Filter was red. I ended up speaking to four people, leaving messages for four and not being able to even leave a message for two more. I was supposed to go to my book group at 3 PM but hadn't thought to give out my cell phone number in all those messages. So I got one callback around 3:20 that I should clean the filters. You would think I would have figured that out on my own. Any way I had to turn the heater off and let it cool down before cleaning them. While I waited I called up the manual online. So i had good instructions of exactly what to do. Luckily it had gotten to 30 outside. So i got them cleaned, restarted the heater and the light was out. I got to the book group around 4:05.
Nancy, Edesia, and Jan-so it seems like we are all into "special" skim milk. If I had my choice, and it wasn't too point rich with too much fat, I would be drinking heavy cream or at least half-'n-half. I'm curious about how you all would approach that indulgence.
Edesia-I was glad about the restock also. I wasn't pleasant having no fruit in the house. At least the carrots were somewhat sweet.
DM called me just before 8 PM, said something about making the lasagna, and then told me she needed to go because Tony Bennett was on. I'm in if she really wants to do it. The hardest part is making the noodles which are done like pancakes. Making the sauce also takes some time.

Hi BFFs, I enjoyed both today's luncheon and after work party! I made good choices and stayed in control.
Nancy, Awesome step count!! I think adding the Splenda would be fine. Jan, my son will be home a few days but not my daughter. She works full time in Wyoming and doesn't get much time off. It's hard not having her home but I'm learning to adjust. Louise, stay warm....good day for a Leslie Sansone tape..
Hope everyone is having a good week. Lori
