Whether you are regular poster or a lurker, we encourage you to talk with us. We do talk about books, but also about our lives, and Weight Watchers. We are women who are spread around the country, and eventually you will learn you we are, and what books we like to read. Don't be intimidated, just pop in and tell us who you are, and what you are reading now. We will make you feel right at home.
This is a thread we had on the WW 50 Year old board, so even though most of us have moved beyond our 50's, I am keeping it here. Some prefer to post on Facebook, but for those who may also like to post on something that resembles our old format, I decided to start this. Although we were brought together by our love of books, and we love to share our ideas about books and authors, our friendship has grown, and we know a lot about each others lives. We are spread across the country, and that adds a bit of interest as well, learning about other people's way of life through the "book" they write on the thread.

Good morning. My battery died, as I was finishing up replying to the personals, so as I was not able to save the post, I will forgo trying to do that over again. Will just say HI to all. Plus, I see Robin, was not here yesterday, so I hope she is ok, what with her stomach issues. Have a great day everyone.
PS....THANKS for all the tips about buying separate sheets, I am going to look online at Target, if I don't have to go there, I will be happy.
Have a nice day, and for all that won't be here this weekend, have a great weekend!

Pinky - my walking buddy and I are taking a break until spring. Neither of us are big fans of walking outdoors in the winter and even now most of the time it is too cold for me.
Karen - you may already know but Target doesn't charge for shipping if you order online and use your Redcard. I do that frequently with dd for toiletries etc.
I feel like I spent last night on the phone. My mother, dd, and bff. My mother with her nightly call, dd with her regular call while walking back from class (honestly she calls so much I have nothing to say to her anymore) and bff was visiting her brother in Florida and alone in their house for a while and bored. I'm not a telephone person and it exhausted me! No real plans for the weekend - groceries, hopefully I'll get everything I need through the holiday and dd's visit - and cleaning. The usual. Still reading The Resistance Women. not loving it, not hating it.

Good Morning Karen and all who see this! I am here for just a quick hello this morning as I am off to get a belt for DH----not a belt that he wears but one for a piece of equipment and then picking up our 2 head of beef. Wow that will be a pickup load and then need to distribute that plus put ours away in the one freezer I cleaned out. Have a great day friends!

I'm just stopping by quick too. I took a break from laundry to get some breakfast and charge my Fitbit. Sunny morning. Looks nice looking out but it's 30ยบ cooler than yesterday morning. Yesterday though the temp dropped as the day wore on. At least the wind we had yesterday is gone. Listening to a freebie from Audio that I had passed on until a friend recommended it. It's a novella, You Can Thank Me Later. I usually don't care for short stories but since it's free why not? Surprised me that I did get into it. Gotta get back to the laundry. Other things I want/need to get done on my day off too.

Karen, thanks for asking, I was OK yesterday, but busy, and when I went to look once I got home, there was just too much to read. I cancelled my lunch date today with my friend, we are a bit too busy for me to leave, and I told her I was having stomach issues anyway. Good thing I did because she says no one she knows has been OK with Fosamax, and told me about a shot that you can take twice a year instead, but you have to prove to your insurance company that you have tried other things. They can show that plus the fact that I have a documented stomach issue.
It is raining here, but 51 degrees, so not too terrible, and it should stop before I get home to walk the dog. Hopefully I will have a quiet weekend. I am supposed to be cooking 2 turkeys to donate, but I did not buy the turkeys yet. I am wondering how terrible it will be for me to defrost the turkeys by leaving them out. I know they say not to do that, but that's the only way it will work.
Pinky, so nice that you can just have your own beef. Yours is grass fed, right? Or am I thinking wrong. I don't think they grade that choice or prime. We tend to only buy prime if we are having steaks, because we don't eat it often enough to want to buy the other.
Marsha, I am not thrilled with walking outside once it gets so cold either. Do you still go to the Y?
Gareth, I agree, when something is a freebie, you might as well. Who knows, you might like it.
I just finished the 2nd Taylor Jenkins Reid book I downloaded from the library, Maybe In Another Life. It was not as good as One True Loves, but I enjoyed it. A good break from other stuff. I have a few books though that people on the Facebook reading page I am on recommend, Have You Seen Luis Velez, which was only $1.99, and the libraries don't even have it, and The Heart's Invisible Furies, which was available from my library, and they are also raving about it. I also noticed that The Tuscan Child was free for Amazon Prime, so I got that. Also something people like. Now I think I am set for a while, but will start the library book first. It is long, over 550 pages, but with Thanksgiving coming up I should be OK to read it before I get anything else.

Robin, I get the twice a year Prolia shot after proving to the Insurance company that I'm unable to take anything else like Fosomax by mouth because of stomach issues. I wouldn't chance it by thawing those turkeys by leaving them out. Why not just buy fresh instead?
Finished the freebie. I did enjoy it though I'm glad it was a short book. Now I'll start Joyce Maynard's Under The Influence.

Robin, if you get a chance check my post from yesterday - I mentioned Fosamax. They say you can defrost turkeys in cold water safely. Iโve done it and turned them a few times. It does work. Tuscan Child is on my list too.

Anngie, I did see your post about Fosamax. The idea of it is that it should reduce fractures. The reason you take it is that your bones are losing their density, so this is supposed to build them up. I will see what she says.
I probably didn't mention my stomach issues before, because it was something I thought happened because of switching when I was taking the stomach medication. Carol, I don't think that gluten and dairy are issues for me seeing as they make my stomach feel better. Toast was good, anything acidic isn't. Hopefully it will be better soon, and it really was made worse by the Fosamax.
