Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend still least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
Heading to work soon. I think it will be a slow day. Lots of phone calls about the Black Friday sale, so I’m sure people will wait until next week. And it’s not the last weekend of the month yet.
Ruth - I think the price of those cakes if outrageous, and I do agree that they are just for show.
Today should be a pretty nice weather day, tomorrow will be rainy. Not to cold for the next few days, I think Thanksgiving Day will be ok too.

Joyce, hope you had a good day at work and that it went by fast. I used to hate slow days at work when I was supposed to “look” busy.
Ruth, hope the party for Mara was a success. My DDIL bought real fancy cakes for DGDs 1st and 2nd birthdays, now she just makes a cake for all the kids when it is their birthday. How is Stan doing?
I have accomplished a lot today. Spent most of the morning cleaning and getting ready for TG. I went shopping this afternoon, only found 1 present for Bill and I actually have to go back to the store to get it. I found it at the first store I went to but wanted to check out several other stores and the one at the first store was the nicest. I’m just making pizza for dinner. Aldi's has a nice thin crust pizza, only 15-18 minutes to cook, so that is easy.

Work started off slow, but picked up nicely after lunch.
I went to Michaels afterwards to pick up a journal book for 2020. I’m going to use it as an appointment planner, and a place to record meals other than in my WW app. I like visuals, I think this will be a fun way for me to track everything, especially exercise.
Going to look through recipes so I can meal plan tomorrow. Only need “lunch” on Monday and Tuesday, Wednesday is a short day, and I’m working for other cashier on Friday morning. I might just thaw out the turkey chili that I froze.
Later ...

Good evening all. Hectic day here. 13 people and 3 of them 9, 6, 2!!! 2 of the 3 friends that DS/DIL invited came. The other one spent the day in the ER due to a diabetic problem. Type 1 and way TOO high #’s. Anyway, DS/DIL were over half hour late (nothing new there!!!) and so our girls were both here well before. They helped me get things ready that I hadn’t already done. Lunch went well (way too many leftovers) and we’ll be eating taco salad tomorrow and maybe Monday!!! I’m not sure DS/DIL appreciated how much work and expense went in to it (and I’m not doing it again) but Mara had a great time, so guess that’s what counts. Had a scare because a burner on the gas stove got left on for over an hour w/o the vent fan above it being on so the CO detectors starting singing. Took a while to get them off and we had doors open and fans going and DH ended up with a headache from it. As that was getting resolved we had to leave to get to Harper’s recital. She was so excited that her Aunt Sheri & Uncle Jeff (older DD/DSIL) were going to see her play. Kira, their daughter, is why Harper is playing cello. Kira plays in college. After the recital we came home to check on the house and got it put back in order. Leafs out of the table, dishwasher run, last of the garbage picked up, etc. and now there’s a Wild game on (at Boston) so watching that and chilling out.
I’m with you guys on “trying to look busy” when there was nothing to do. I used to go to the other secretaries and see if they had anything I could help with. Often they did and were happy for the help. But that was in a high school too. That was my first 2 years in the district. After I started in the Athletic Office I was always swamped and needed help!!!
I have a little shopping done. Odds and ends. It’s getting too close and I wish I had more ideas and more of it done. I hear of people who have everything wrapped and I get panicky!!!
ok, going to watch the game. Will be back tomorrow.

Ruth - that sure was a hectic day. Since the Sabres lost to Boston yesterday I’m sure the Wild will win. And thanks for mentioning tacos, I needed some inspiration for my meals next week and tacos sound good. I’ll use ground turkey breast for the filling.

Bills game just finished. They won. Best start since 1996, Jim Kelly was still playing. Excited, thrilled ...
I should finish my kitchen reorg today. I moved the microwave, it looks good where it is now. I did not plug it in, if I haven’t by June it’s getting tossed.
I moved some stuff into the garage, to the junk area. If all goes well, I hope to have my junk removed late Spring. There is a junk removal place right in my neighborhood, they will clear out garage, basement, anywhere I need it removed. I’m getting excited about that too. I found some nice wire shelving at Home Depot, I’ll get my handyman to help me with that when the time comes.
See ya tomorrow

Good afternoon all. Home from picking up the bibs and shirt/hat from the two 5K races DH can’t do because of not being able to run while wearing that monitor. He’s unhappy about it, but since he paid the entry fee, and there are no refunds, he wanted to get the shirt from one and hat from the other. We stopped at Sam’s Club on the way home. He went for a run this morning and said neither his lungs nor his legs are where they were and need to be, but he gritted it out to get in 3.1 miles while they were out.
No football here today, bye week. The Wild lost to Boston in OT last night. Frustrating end to a good game. It happens. They have not won an OT game this season yet. Not good!
I still have the serving pieces I used yesterday to put away. I unloaded the dishwasher last night, but they only made it as far as the dining room table. I need to get laundry going too. The hamper is overflowing again and Stan’s running stuff just added to it.
I have a case of the blah’s this afternoon and I’m not sure why! Wasn’t bad earlier but about the time we started home from Sam’s they hit. Wish I knew why!!!
On a brighter note, yesterday I sent 2 grocery bags full of books home with older DD for the gal who runs the bicycle library. And some toys that a friend had sent for Mara (old school fisher price barn & people & cars) finally got sent to their house; and a box of books (Magic Tree House) that I had picked up on one of the sites for Sawyer went to their house. I had DH vacuum the laundry room floor first the other day and I stacked all that stuff in the laundry room so it was out of the way but I could find it to send. And I took 2 bags of plastic to the grocery store to be recycled. Feels good to get some more gone. And they picked up the bag and box of clothing I had out for DAV on Friday. There is so much more to do downstairs.
Joy, taco salad is one of Stan’s favorites. And we had been doing it with the ground turkey breast. This yesterday was made with the 97% lean ground beef. I need to go back to turkey breast for us. Will be interesting to see if you use your microwave or not. We heat milk for Mara in ours, we re-heat food in it, I heat up canned or frozen veggies. I don’t actually “cook” in it much.
Cathy is on her way to Toledo to pick up her brother and bring him home with her. He has some health issues and I’m not entirely clear on why she is bringing him home with her for now. I think he’s going to be there a week or so.
Sandy has given notice at work and only has about a dozen days left to work. Politics and a new board take over proved to be more than she could deal with. She is going to continue to work very part time for a while. She was hoping not to lose her accrued sick leave and vacation time. Danny had surgery and is just recovering.
Sandi is in the process of moving her DH Jim into a 2nd bedroom. He decided that he was disturbing her and needed his own bedroom. He’s had some respiratory issues.
Ok, going to go throw in the first load of laundry, make myself a cup of hot chocolate and read the Sunday paper while the laundry runs.

Joyce, I would be lost without my microwave. Like Ruth, I don’t use it for cooking but do use it to reheat things like soup and chili. I also use it for making my tea every morning. You are doing great with all your CBing, Bill and I need to get started. Actually we have gotten rid of quite a bit this year but there is still a lot to go.
Ruth, glad the party for Mara was a success. It was nice that your DDs were there to help with the prep. Bill’s mom was always running late and it didn’t bother her at all – it would make me furious when she decided to re-do her hair or some such thing when we were supposed to be leaving. Scary about the gas stove, nice to know the CO2 detectors worked like they were supposed to. Nice that Stan can start running again to get back in shape, hope the A-Fib stays away for him. Thanks for the update on the other CB group. Hope Cathy has safe travels to Ohio and the return trip with her brother. Hope he is okay. I would love to have left over taco salad but Bill isn’t a fan so I don’t make it much.
It was a very cold and rainy day. It is still raining and very windy. I cleaned all three bathrooms, finished setting the dining room table and wiped down all the kitchen cabinets and appliances. I feel good about what I accomplished. I took the turkey out of the freezer this afternoon, we defrost it in the garage. I don’t have enough room in my fridge to defrost it. Tomorrow I want to go out and finish up the TG shopping. I will also buy a turkey for DS #1 for our family Christmas celebration. They don’t have a big freezer and after TG the turkey prices get quite expensive so I buy it and store it till Christmas.
