My game plan for TDay is this:
I decided to NOT make mac n cheese because I didn't need that level of temptation, there will be plenty of great yummy holiday foods, and with stuffing and mashed potatoes I don't ALSO need mac n cheese, so I 86'd it from the menu (*pats self on back*).
I will walk every day next week, and possibly twice on TDay and the day after, but at least once!
I will get right back OP on Saturday and try to stay there until the 22nd...
And I will check in here daily!

surfgirl, Good plans. Like they are saying in some of the articles: there are more chances to be on plan than off plan during the holiday season.

Not doing Thanksgiving but that said, an American woman is in charge of the Wednesday gathering...wonder if I should ask if she is doing Thanksgiving and I should ask if she wants me to make a side dish? Hmm...

So far I planned the dinners for the week, which is a big step for me. I've been hard boiling eggs, I'm going to make WW pumpkin muffins today for breakfast, and I'm having a quaint Thanksgiving for our family of four. I will definitely be eating a little more at the Thanksgiving meal but I'm going to try Becks 25% (or was it 20%?). What I am worried about is the storm coming in with chances of snow. I usually try to avoid going out around Thanksgiving because of the crowds, but I think I'll have to hit the grocery store on Wednesday so that we don't end up without fresh fruit over the weekend. (Everything closes when it snows here).
As a side note, I heard someone saying anyone dieting is going to "blow it" on Thanksgiving. I don't like this attitude. Thin people don't "blow it" on Thanksgiving, and I guarantee they eat a little more than they would normally. Why then is it expected that we, because we are dieting, have to be on plan for every meal of every day, otherwise we're 'failing'? It's one meal. If I eat light the other two meals then enjoy my Thanksgiving, have I done something off the wall that a thin person would not do? And thin people eat leftovers. They don't fix a second plate like I would, but they might have a sandwich with the leftover turkey, or have it with one of the sides. So why can't I do the same thing? Leftovers can fit into my points and Thanksgiving can fit into my life. That is the lifestyle I choose.

I have stopped making a special meal for Thanksgiving. It is just me and DH these days. I used to cook up a storm when my mom was alive, we had such fun cooking together; then Mr. Lani and I started going out to eat for Turkey Day. Now I only do some baking to take to SIL's house where we show up after their main meal. There I do a little dessert sampling. Christmas is the same routine. Some years we also stop at friends for drinks and appetizers at Christmas and New Year.

It is just the two of us. We do turkey, gravy, homemade cranberry sauce, stuffing, and scalloped potatoes (we do the same meal for Christmas). I've written down how much of each item I get. If I hadn't done that years ago I would probably portion creep each year. It is just enough to fill me up. We eat late afternoon and in the morning I make a salad for me to have about eight or nine if I get hungry.
