Good Morning~ Today is an Early Dismissal day for students and teachers. NO extra ChildCare to worry about - which is a huge relief as we ALL want to get out by 4:00 for our own Holiday! Work is very very busy. The behaviors of students and parents is active - not sure why folks are so aggressive and hurtful and angry at the world. Interesting... I Tracked my day again today except for dinner...Wednesdays are tough as DH is home and we usually eat out where it's his choice. I can make it work (i.e. McDonalds last Sunday lol) but I need to continue to be mindful of choices. Not much to prep for Thanksgiving Day - I am in charge of the Dinner Rolls and pies. I'll bake one pumpkin and one apple. And bring along a chocolate/Oreo pie for the younger folks - Lindsey, DN and DNephew love that Oreo pie! - we are bringing my DM with us over to DSIL's where she is doing all the cooking. DSIL has been diligent in following her own weight loss program - sort of like a Keto but lots of Intermittent Fasting - she was down 13# last time we saw each other (unfortunately you could hardly tell - she's a large woman) so I'm hoping for her she's still going strong. Her DH jumped on the bandwagon and lost 20# immediately (that figures, men!) well really within a few months he did - but I'm proud of them for taking better care of their health. Linds is home! She arrived last evening after work - So good to see her. Last time she was home (September?) she got her hair cut SHORT so I'm still not used to seeing her with such a short sassy style LOL She picked up a few work shifts locally at Tim Hortons and starts tomorrow - but should be out in time for our Dinner

Carole - how's the Pie baking? Thinking of you and the family as you push through this huge project - I know you all have it down to a science but it's still a lot of work on everyone's part! Hopefully today is delivery day and you can relax by evening. I don't remember your plans for Thanksgiving? How is Matt feeling lately? Gabrielle - Hoping by now you arrived in So. CA at your B&B near your sister's. How was the drive? Sue - Great job on getting the Pumpkin rolls done! Another one who has this down pat! lol Did you pack already for the trip to NC? I think you and Jason plan to leave early in the morning, right? Jenny - don't you just love stay-cations? I told DD one weekend (I did not leave the house) I could easily get used to staying home daily and just taking care of pesky chores! Bet you feel so productive! Do you feel ready for the large group coming tomorrow? Where in the world do you seat everyone? lol Lisa - YES get that battery on your scale changed! You deserve to know how much progress you have made with your WW Plan - I admit, I've been doing daily WI's only because I seriously need to see the lower number for my own personal motivation but that will cease once I get through the first few weeks here. Do you work today? I wasn't sure if college campus staff are off too or just students/professors. Okay - time to prep breakfast. Trying to add as many veggies to my meals as possible and being mindful of servings of fruit. I can see why those ladies in Gabrielle's WW Meeting went nuts with the fruit being 0 points and over doing it! lol

Just running through... Monday we got 15 pies done at home... the ones that "hold up" better/longer, the pecan and the pumpkin. Tuesday was 46 apple, blueberry, rhubarb, strawberry rhubarb and a shell for the chocolate cream... today we have the chocolate cream, and a few blueberry and strawberry rhubarb to get done. I will also do an apple to bring home for tomorrow!! "Should" be home by 5 PM! Last night was around 7, not bad... but man the hot tub did feel good last night!!
Tomorrow we go to my sisters' house... I bring the squash! Not a big deal - it's done and in the crock pot... will plug it in early tomorrow morning to re-heat!
Christine: Thanks for asking - Matt has had a few rough days... nausea set in yesterday - he still went to work, but he is noticing the side effects. The good news is, IF the Dr is correct, today should be the last day of it (he said 5 days of side effects, starting on Day 3 after treatment) so today is Day 5!
OK Time to go measure some "berries"... we didn't have enough with us yesterday - so I need to measure and make sure we have what we need to finish up today!
Might pop on later - on my phone - while "waiting" for people to pick up the pies!! I do not have to make the trip to the bank today - Kathy is willing to go help Tracy with that! Whew... since she lives in the same town - it makes sense. She doesn't mind at all - she just has to be asked! I need to remember that! LOL Actually I have given up some of the pie crust rolling... and crimping... Kathy is eager to help, so I have let her! YAY ME! LOL
♥hugs♥

Good morning! Got the new battery and I'm down 1 lb from last week. I will take it and it's a great reminder that I need to make good choices over the holiday and long weekend. I had some apple brandy marinated thin pork chops last night but they were just ok, probably not buy them again.
Already got an email with my lab results normal panel is in normal range, dr. notes glucose slightly high, cholesterol high, will discuss at appointment. I need to compare cholesterol to previous tests. At least I can tell her that I joined WW and how much I have lost by Dec. 10.
Christine-yay for a short day and Lindsey home. Yes I do work today but a lot of staff members have taken off. I know what my tasks are today so no worries. Greg's physical therapist sent him home with exercises so that is done for now so we have a free afternoon but I never say that too loud!
Sue-I hope that your day goes quickly and you get everything done by 8 like you plan. Safe travels if I don't talk you before tomorrow. Very high winds here like gusts of 50 till this evening.
Carole-you go girl with those pies! Glad to hear that Matt is working strong to carry on with things and I hope that the drs. prediction is correct. Squash will be a healthy option for tomorrow.
I am looking forward to a couple of days off and I did start some online shopping yesterday from the kids lists that I have. Feels less stressful now that I have made some progress and started lists of what I bought for who.
Gotta get going...will try and pop in later!

Evening all....I will say, taking 2 hours vacation on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving makes for a much less hectic night before vacation! Wash is finishing up in the dryer and then I can pack....2nd apple pie is in the oven....dishwasher is emptied, loaded and ready to all the last few dishes from baking and dinner so we come home to all clean dishes....all the bread is cubed up and ready to make stuffing tomorrow when we get to David's.
Decided to just catch up with today and then go back and read...so far behind now and I don't have time to really "catch up"....will try to read later when I'm all packed and ready to relax a bit before heading to bed.
Christine...thanks for starting us off all week while Carole was "sleeping in" a bit from her usual work day schedule. Funny, PA school schedules are all so different....Kellen & Jackson had a 1/2 day yesterday and off today....Colton went a full day yesterday but still off today...and you had to go today!! Are you off Monday for "buck season"...not sure why they need it anymore since the season is actually opening on Saturday now??? I know our districts around here have no time off until Thanksgiving so I guess that's why they extend it!
Sorry so many angry and aggressive parents and students for you....is it holiday stress or testing or some other "outside factor" or is it just "humanity" getting more angry and bitter each year??? I will say that the McDonald's salads with the light Balsamic dressing were pretty OP when I was tracking with WW...I used to love the Chicken Caesar but they don't have that one anymore but now the SW with grilled chicken is yummy!! Unfortunately, a lot of fast food options are slim.
Sounds like you have your contributions to Thanksgiving dinner under control....my DM used to make a Chocolate Cream Pie for Thanksgiving...bought graham cracker crust and instant chocolate pudding...David's boys always humored her, ate it and raved but after she left they always asked "why does she bring that pie, Auntie Susan's pies are better and homemade"! Always made me laugh!
Glad Linds is home and actually able to pick up a couple shifts at Tom Hortons for some extra $$$ Glad she won't miss your family dinner! Will be anxious to hear if DSIL is still working hard on whatever plan she follows...I know Keto is a big thing now but I've read pros and cons on that one, especially if you have other conditions or family history of different diseases.

Christine...my pumpkin rolls yesterday were perfect! Both of the "trial run" rolls cracked when I rolled them....I think I did the same thing yesterday but no cracks. They are perfect! Actually talked to David last night one last time before we leave tomorrow and Chris, his youngest, heard me talking about the pumpkin rolls....he was so cute....he made David turn the FT camera around to talk to me...he said "Auntie, did you really make us 'punkin luv' I'm so ready for that!" Love a kid who appreciates your efforts!
Timer just beeped...2nd pie is done! Laundry should be just about done and Jason will bring up my laundry when he comes up from his shower....he wants a haircut so will do that when his hair is dry! Then, finish up my packing and I'm done!! I will say, these 2 hours of vacation make for SUCH A DIFFERENCE in my holiday prep!
Carole....what was the final tally for pies....I know it was over 60 earlier!! Yes, you definitely have the make the pies in the order that they "hold"....that's why I always do pumpkin pies and pumpkin rolls on Tuesday and the apple pies tonight....fruit pies don't "hold" as well! YES....you need to remember to "ask" for help, especially when you know someone, like Kathy, is willing to lend a hand! Proud of you for "letting go" of some of the responsibilities!! I too and proud of you! I know what it's like to be a control freak! I'm one too!
Lisa....YAY for the new battery and for the downward trend on the scale! I will say, I will WI tomorrow, my usual day but always check on Monday after the Thanksgiving weekend and I have actually lost over the long weekend....aside from the over indulgences of tomorrow....we eat well at David's!! Glad your labwork seems not "too out of whack"! I'm sure the focus on WW will help any value that is high! Yes...even with packing and Jason's haircut...I should be settled in to relax a bit before bed by 8:00 pm!!
Time to finish up the shrimp I made last night and make my final check list for stuff to bring along!
