Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend still least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
Winds are starting to pick up. Looks like it’s going to be a rainy, windy morning. The rain is supposed to let up in the afternoon, then the temps will drop.
We picked names for Secret Santa yesterday. Of course, I got one of the girls in the business office down the street. I don’t know her very well so I’m going to have a tough time getting something nice. Last year it seemed that everyone in that office got a wine glass and bottle of wine. I don’t want to repeat that theme, but it is difficult when you really don’t know the person. I’m going to a craft show on Friday after work, hopefully I can find something unusual there. If not, I’m thinking of a knit hat-glove-scarf set for the winter, or maybe a blanket scarf (ruana) for the office.
Ruth - I know you’ll get snow, but I’m hoping they got the amount wrong. Prayers continue for Carol.
Dottie - I’m not a fan of shopping on Black Friday, that’s why I was ok with working for other cashier. I’m only working 7-11, then going straight to the craft show. It’s a huge one. I used to go there with my mom years ago, I guess I’m just in a mood to go there again.
Going to work early today since the dealership is closing at 6. Probably watch the Hallmark channel when I get home. Heading to WW before work.
Enjoy your day

Joyce, that is difficult to buy a gift for someone you don’t know well. Maybe you will find something unique at the craft show. Enjoy the craft sow.
Ruth, hope you get everything accomplished that you want to. Sorry to hear about your knee, Bill still has a few bad nights if he overdoes it during the day. How much snow did you get? Did the transfusion help Carol, hope so. My mother was anemic and several times had to go for a transfusion. They felt she was losing blood somehow but not sure where. She had the routine tests and they all came back negative. What they started to do was give her a B-12 shot monthly, that really helped her a lot.
I have the regular vegetarian dressing made and the onions, celery and sausage ready for the gluten free dressing. I will finish that tomorrow. DS#1 and family hope to be here by 7, depends on traffic on the Mass Pike. They save about 25 to 30 $ by buying their tree in Ct. instead of trying to buy it in the Boston area. Their family room has a vaulted ceiling so they get a real big one, at least 9 to 10 ft. I will be glad when the open enrollment period has ended. I am even getting texts about it – where did they get my cell phone number?

Good evening all. Weird day today. DH got up in AFib. Had an awful time waking him up, which was weird because he had a 10 am dr appt. and now tonight he’s out of AFib. Who knows what is going on.
His appt. this morning was for the hyper-thyroid issues. Our family doctor referred him to an endocrinologist and they will do a thyroid scan also. And they did a panel of thyroid blood tests today. One of his meds can cause thyroid issues, so don’t think anyone is terribly concerned, but they have to cover all their bases.
We got 5-7” of snow overnight and this morning. It was that wet heavy “heart attack”, “widow maker” snow!! Stan got the driveway mostly done before he left, then this afternoon finished it and the sidewalk. On his way to the dr’s office he said 35E southbound was a skating rink. He said coming home on 35E northbound, he saw 6 snowplows (3 abreast) working on 35E south. So hopefully it got much better. DS had to work today, but he told them he’d probably be snowed in his street for a while. Think he got to work about noon.
I have this crazy cough again and have had a sinus headache and pressure (even my teeth and the roof of my mouth hurts) since yesterday morning. Sudafed and Excedrin have helped some, but not totally. Again, I have no fever or anything to indicate it’s a cold or allergies or whatever. May have to see our GP next week or even maybe the allergist.
Ended up cleaning out under the kitchen sink tonight. And tossed a bunch of odds an ends. Got under there for something and noticed that it was wet. But only one side of it mostly. So not sure if something sitting under there (was way too much stuff jammed in) was leaking or if a pipe had leaked or the drain or what. I cleaned it out, Stan wiped it down (it smells), and I sorted what went back. A few things I didn’t want that low for Mara to touch got moved. I tossed more than 5 things too. I’ll keep an eye on it now and check it a couple times a day to make sure we don’t have a pipe leak. Reminded me of your recent issue Dottie.
We bought our tree yesterday at Costco because they had the best price around for a Frazier Fir (our favorite) and we wanted to get one before they got snowed on everywhere. Theirs were all bundled and you couldn’t really see what you were getting, so we took a chance on one and it’s really nicely shaped and pretty straight. Tomorrow or Friday or Saturday we’ll get lights on and start decorating. Stan wasn’t up to it today. We have a 2 story great room, but the sq. Feet of the actual floor space limit us to a much smaller tree. Some year I should move a couch and put a really big tree in front of the windows. And take family pictures in front of it. Our tree was $37.99 at Costco and it’s maybe 7’ tall. That size most places here are in the $49 range.
Carol’s hemoglobin was 7 today so they gave her another transfusion, then chemo. So she was there from about 9 am to 3 pm! And on top of it, she has to do her feedings and all her meds there. She said all that in the small cubicle about gave her claustrophobia. And she goes home with the chemo pack that will come off Friday morning now.
Ok, dryer just dinged for the last load of laundry, so going to go get it and fold it. Happy Thanksgiving to both of you and Cathy and Jill also.
