Liz, I'm amazed at how many steps you got in this week and am not surprised that you are worn out. I hope you get lots of rest this weekend. How crazy was Kohls this morning? Keep warm today. Will your temperatures moderate any this week? I'll bet that Snoopy wreath is adorable. Sorry to hear that Wally seems to be at a standstill. The bone spur could explain some things. Is the physiatrist recommending anything done about it? No headaches since Wednesday, so what ever was causing them has subsided.
How are the sinuses, Chele? Looks like we got here about the same time, and I didn't beat you by much. Is your jury duty local or federal? I'll bet they will make everyone show up on Monday, even if they check you in and say "never mind". Chicago is't too far, so that won't be a bad trip for Iggy unless they get snow. Will they fly or drive? I guess the tick bite is still healing. He gets annoyed when I ask for updates. We needed a few things, like yeast to make him a loaf of bread, so he volunteered to go to the store and is there now. We'll see if he's in an impulse buy mood or sticks to the list I gave him. We have one of those large woodpeckers here that we see every now and then. With all the trees within a couple mile radius, he keeps pretty busy, so sometimes we hear him but don't see him.
Becky, hopefully the PT will contact the ortho for more sessions if it seems to be helping. I didn't initially get approved for 7 months, but a couple of months with each approval. I'm surprised you don't have more daytime WW options. Maybe if they did, they would have more people doing WW there. We have an actual WW center here. I guess your Scooter is growing out of the toys phase. I don't think Phoebe ever did.
I'm glad the stores weren't crowded for you yesterday, Kathy. Sorry you didn't get your entire list checked off. I wonder if your ducks were just passing through on the migration trail. We saw one of our ospreys this morning. Haven't seen one for a while. I set up both the AeroGardens yesterday. I have herbs in one and greens in the other. New pumps and using distilled water, so hopefully I won't have any issues.
Linda, I know Micki loved his burger. Would heat help the knee after a shot? I remember in the days when I used to get flu shots, that seemed to help with the pain. I had 't thought about putting a small treat in the paper for Arya. That's a really good idea. I have a wrapped gift from last year that never got opened that is on the couch and when she is on the couch, she is keeping a good eye on it to make sure it doesn't try to attack her. We'll probably get the movie in the Netflix queue, which means maybe we'll get it by summer.
Not much on today's agenda. I fixed Arya a week's worth of boiled eggs and did the workout I missed on Wednesday when the sinuses were bothering me. We have football games at 12, 4, and 7:30, so that will most likely be the rest of my day. I do have some tofu marinating and will have to bake that.

Liz, I hope you are resting after your hectic week. What does one do for a bone spur? Ot sounds painful.
Karen, sinuses are clogged but no headache. The summons is for municipal court and I am #127. They will be flying. If the store is crowded I bet Dale will want to get in and out. I can just picture Arya staring down the present. Happy footballing.
Waving to the rest of the crew.
Iggy and I went to the carnivore store this morning, then I met my GF for lunch. She treated me for my birthday. Poor thing has her 82y old DM living with her at the moment. DM broke her arm the day before Thanksgiving. GF also is the primary care giver for her 3 grandchildren while their parents are working. She has her hands full with a 3 year old, a 5 year old, a 14 year old and an 82 year old. Needless to say she looked frazzled. I told her lunch could have waited but she said she wanted the escape. Her DM wanted to come to lunch with us. I wouldn’t have minded but GF needed time off.

Kathy, I just heard that Mike Norvell from Memphis is the leading candidate for the FSU job. I think you would like him. Rumor has it that Lane Kiffin will go to Ole Miss. I wonder if he will coach there any longer than he did at Tennessee (1 season).
Sorry about GF's life challenges, Chele. It's tough to be caught between generations. 3 and 5 year old can be extremely challenging in one way and a 14 year old in a whole other way. I can understand her need for some getaway time. Maybe you need to try to get her out more often when possible. Dale said the store wasn't too crazy, and he pretty much stuck to the list--except for the 3 lb can of Planter's Mixed Nuts that was ON SALE! We saw an ad on TV last night so I guess that was the impetus for that one. He also bought a box of cornbread mix, which he loves. So I guess it could have been worse. He did find salad with NO romaine, so it will be good to have salad again.

Karen, the ducks probably were migrating. I usually do see some different birds this time of year, so I'll have to see if I can figure out what they were. I saw a little blue heron today and of course, more ibis. I heard some sand hill cranes, but didn't see where they landed. Hope you have good luck with the AeroGardens. The distilled water might do the trick. I hadn't heard about Mike Norvell, so will have to look him up. LOL on the 3 lb can of nuts. Don't eat them all at once. Chele, do you know how many people they typically call for jury duty? I thought I might be off the hook one time since my number was over 700, but no such luck. They typically call more people on Monday, but you never know depending on what trials are coming up. That is a lot for your GF to handle and I'm sure she was glad to get the break and have lunch with you. Waving to everyone.

Thanks for the start Karen.I don't know about the PT contacting the ortho. When he wrote the orders he said to just use any one I wanted but he had sent some patients to the place in Elgin so he is familiar with the place.WW has already had to close several centers in different states the last year so there are just not a lot of daytime meetings. There used to be 2 in Taylor but I guess there were only enough people for one meeting so she does the Taylor and Bastrop meetings.I think some of the people in Taylor come during their lunch hour.Scooter has turned into more of a watch dog.She likes to spend time outside especially after dinner and she barks at the cattle or anything else she sees out there.
Chele I hope you enjoyed your birthday lunch.Your gf does have her plate full and then some.I hope her DM will be okay soon.
Waves to all.

The Gods of the compassionate need to help your friend, Cheke, yikes!
Fun mental image of dog warily watching the gift, Karen. Good thing she hasn't seen a jack in a box.
Finished that ghastly hard puzzle, did bank and credit card statements, trip to TJ's , dog walk and cooking.Hour on phone with dsil who just got over a five day migraine that set off her trigeminal neuralgia..yikes. TJs is very festive with way too many holiday goodies. But I did get the slice of Italian almond nougat candy...not bad on calories and inky there on once a year. Did smothered pork chops...carmelized onion sauce and a new broccoli salad recipe...cashews, dried cranberries, chopped pear, chopped apple and fresh broccoli a dressing of yogurt, mayo, honey, lemon juice. Very good...nutritious but dressing not diet friendly.

Well, the can of nuts were on sale and they are nutritious, Karen. Yay for salad. I am having that for lunch today. I got some baby arugula and red leaf lettuce at the store. Kathy, you are just full of good news on the numbering of jurors. I have to call after 4:30 pm to see if I have to report tomorrow. I nave a picture of a bird that flew into our yard a couple of hears ago and no one can tell me what it is. Unfortunately, the picture isn’t that good. BIL thinks it is a loon but I can’t find one online that resembles my picture. Linda, I was thinking all through lunch that I would not have been able to handle DM alone. Add 3 kids to the mix and I would have lost my mind. The broccoli salad sounds really good. I haven’t had it with pear and apple but have had it with mandarin oranges. I feel so bad for your DSIL. 5 days of migraine would be unbearable. I hope the bout of neuralgia clears quickly. Becky, Scooter certainly looks like a watch dog. It is good to have her watching the place for you. You got me curious about meetings in Dayton. There used to be meetings all over the place. Now there are only 3 places in the area. The one near me must be a center because it is open for a few hours every day. Liz, how was your Saturday? Need a cup of tea. Have a good Sunday.

Chele, sorry about that! My county is bigger, so they tend to call a few hundred people in on Mondays. I'm outside of the city limits, so I've never had to go for municipal court. That might be quite a bit smaller. I saw the mystery ducks again, but they were too far away for a good picture. They had the shape and feathers like a Florida wood duck, but I think those have green heads and these looked dark.

Becky, is that Marci at the top of the tree in your avatar? LOL I don't think KK would do something like that. If PT seems to be working, hopefully the doc will decide to try it for a bit longer than the original Rx.
I hadn't heard about Mike Norvell until it was mentioned on one of the football games yesterday, Kathy. I saw this morning that it was confirmed, so I guess he's packing to move. I'm guessing it's about 8 hours by car, so not real bad. Are you going to get decorated this week? Can't believe it's 2.5 weeks til the big day.
Chele, since you like Z Nation, we saw a movie the other night that you might like. It's called Anna and the Apoclypse and it's kind of a Shaun of the Dead meets High School Musical. I was thinking it was going to be lame, but it actually turned out to be pretty good. We even downloaded the soundtrack, which has several catchy tunes. Congrats to your Buckeyes. They really poured it on in the 2nd half. We watched the first few minutes after halftime and they didn't even look like the same team. It appears it will be OSU and Clemson in the first round of the playoffs. You know whose colors I'll be wearing. I hope you get good news this afternoon when you call about jury duty. Yes, Dale could have brought less healthy things home from the store. But they are dry roasted, not raw, so not Fuhrman approved. But they are tasty. Salad was going for a change. I have been eating kale out of my garden as pretty much my only green since I finished off the CSA collards several weeks back just before the romaine recall. There used to be a WW meeting just about any day of the week even in some of the smaller places I've lived. I think online really changed that.
Sorry your DSIL has been so sick, Linda. Good that she's getting over it for the holidays. I wonder if her immune system just got trashed with all the planning and implementation of the wedding. I might have to try that broccoli salad. You could lighten up the dressing using FF yogurt and a reduced fat mayo. Did you use raw cashews? A jack in the box would totally freak out Arya. I plan to go to TJ's on Thursday and I know it won't be good. I looked at this month's Fearless Flyer and I'm afraid some things are going to follow me home.
Liz, have you gotten some rest this weekend? How are the body parts doing? Sending good karma for your upcoming 5-day week. How much time will you have off during the holidays?
We have been busy so far today and Dale even helped decorate. We have wreaths on the gate, big bows on the lights on the front of the house, and the wooden cactus, ceramic tree, and another smaller wooden tree decorating the great room. We also have candles in the windows and "Cactus Jack" on the front porch. I put all the gift cards in envelopes and just have to put them in their respective packages and get them addressed. Lady Vols are playing Texas right now, so a good time to address the few Christmas cards I'll be sending out. They will go mainly to close friends and the few remaining aunts and uncles I have left. I also baked a loaf of bread and we put my Adirondack chair and footstool in storage for the winter. I forgot to mention that the job Dale interviewed for wasn't remote but in Manhattan, and I don't mean Kansas. We joked about selling everything and getting a 1 BR/1 BA there for more than we are paying for our mortgage here. Don't think Arya would be happy in an apartment because she would miss her wildlife and woods walks. I would probably be climbing the walls.

Unless you are a multimillionaire I would not recommend moving to Manhattan. Arya would freak out at all the noise and people. And yes, you would go nuts, Karen. Where would you plant your mushrooms? Central Park? I missed the OSU game yesterday. Looks like it was a close one.
Kathy, I called early. The trial has been cancelled and I don’t have to call back for a different one. Yay!

Yay on the jury duty release, Chele. Actually, it was a game of 2 halves. Wisconsin was up like 21-0 in the first half, and apparently only scored once in the 2nd half, which was really good for the Buckeyes because they scored all their points in that quarter. The mushrooms and the gardens would be an issue in Manhattan. Wonder if they even have master gardeners. And, they only offered Dale lower 6 figures, so we won't be moving. But if it had been remote, it would have been really good money.

Karen, I found Anna and the Apocalypse on Prime Video and put it in my watchlist. I love Shaun of the Dead and Zombieland. The Buckeyes like to keep the fans on their toes during the first half. Lower 6 figures is practically the poverty line in Manhattan. I met someone from NJ who made 50k and said she was on food stamps. There is community gardening in NYC but all I found were stories of NYC park employees getting MG certified.

Yea on no jury duty for you!
Karen, you sure are busy.
Would you believe leaves are finally dropping for fall now and I raked them this morning? Then made a baked rice pudding with diced apple and dried sour cherries...have not made that in a long time and dh was wanting it.
had fun shopping..Stopped at home depot for geraniumsand petunias for three pots I took summer flowers out of. There was the cutest little potted mini- rose poinsettia now loving on my kitchen window sill.
Then off to a long really nice outdoor mall. GOt a black watch plaid tunic and a navy Winter tee with snowflakes and polar bears at Talbots for Christmas..whole store 30- off today, make up next door at Ulta, Then a Christmas cup at Sur La Tabl , then at the end of the outdoor mall there is an upscale grocery store with amazing floral displays, produce, cheeses, bakery and festive Christmas stuff. It is like a little vacation trio going in there. Got a couple goodies, some large shrimp and wine for dh, and some actual groceries.
Finding it impossible right now not to have holiday goodies. Sigh.
Got into the car and heard rain coming again! Light sprinkles on windshield..dashed dog out for his pm walk and popped the plants into pots just as it became heavier...phew.
