Who’s the early bird today? Thanks for the start, Karen. Rainy day, so I will bite the bullet and decorate for Christmas. BBL.

Good almost afternoon chicks and thanks for the start Karen. Yes, I did hide out whenever I could over the weekend. Sat. I went to Kohl's and pretty much finished up my shopping. Got some great deals on clothes for Gary and and outfit for me to wear on Christmas eve or day, depending. We had a really yummy comfort food dinner out Sat. evening. Yesterday I went food shopping, walked and fed pups and then actually took a nap in the afternoon and some cold meds as I wasn't feeling so great. Wally had me up at midnight for reasons unknown to man and wanted to hunt and do wee-wees all over the neighborhood. I have PT this evening if I can manage to get out on time. It was very chilly and raining this morning with more rain coming and potential accumulating snow for us up north on Tues. into Wed. Chele - so sorry about your GF; that is a boatload of responsibility to carry for one person. I am sure being out with you was a nice respite. How is your beloved carnivore doing? No report on the tests as of yet? How have the birdies been with the feeder? Becky - how is PT going for you? Are you finding any relief? I enjoyed hearing that Scooter had now become a watch dog for you. Wally is a bit like that but more geared towards his immense dislike of UPS/FedEX/bicycles and motorcycles. Very cute avatar with the kitty on top. Linda - sounds like you've been busy and getting some great bargains. Talbots has been sending me emails with all the discounts almost on a daily basis. I haven't been to TJs in a long time as it is off the beaten path for me to get there. There were many baked goodies out at the grocery yesterday which is always a challenge for me to abstain from. I was smiling with you speaking about falling leaves and I'm contemplating snow once again. Kathy - glad you didn't get caught for the jury duty. I've been called a couple times but not picked. It wasn't too bad with the town jury duty as I could call but the county jury duty meant going to the court house for 2 days of waiting and monotonous questions. How is DM doing? I am tired and I guess it's just going to take awhile until I am back to feeling myself doing the commute and long days again. Karen - glad the headaches subsided. Good job on the 3lb. container of mixed nuts. I am very fond of deluxe mixed nuts but my digestive system doesn't seem to agree with me. How did the tofu come out? Gary went out and got the little tree on Sat. and put it up with just lights. He started decorating last night with me helping but he won't let me up on the step stool. DS called and said she and my DBIL had gone to see SM and bring her the ceramic christmas tree and Dicken's village she wanted put up. There's a lot of illness going around right now; I have my boss awfully sick with bronchitis and one of my supervisors home sick as well. There's a great deal of talk about the flu season starting early and being fairly virulent. Sorry the job offer for Dale didn't pan out. The cost of living here in the city is ridiculous and not getting better. Need to get going and finish up some more work and walk over to pick up a couple folders full of filing to go through from when I was out. Everyone please stay safe and warm! Ciao for now dear ladies~

I had a busy morning. Iggy wanted to know what got into me. I said it is the absence of sinus drainage and the accompanying cough. I cleaned up some leaves outside that were pushed against the fence gait, refilled the bird feeders, cleaned out the fridge, decorated the family room and put the wreath on the door, vacuumed downstairs, and did a load of towels. I wish I had this energy every day.
Linda, what a great shopping trip! I was doing well resisting holiday goodies until Iggy was given and brought home a box of Esther Price candy. TG it is the small box. We have your rain today. It has been non stop. Pretty plant in your avatar.
Becky, my cats climbed the tree but never got to the tippy top. I came home to a toppled tree once. We put up a miniature tree and decorate the mantelpiece of the fireplace we don’t use. The nativity scene is on the front hearth. The three wisemen will travel across the room until midnight Christmas when they arrive at the stable. Baby Jesus is not put in the manger until midnight either. I don’t know if that is a Catholic thing, a family thing or an Italian tradition.
Kathy, there are benefits to being smaller. Right now Dayton seems to be becoming a suburb of Cincinnati and Columbus. The prices of housing is going up in consequence and traffic is increasing. Our little burb is even getting a Starbucks next year. We have to travel 25 minutes to a Starbucks right now. I don’t like more people, more cars, more congestion. Boo, progress.
Liz, I hope you are keeping your sanity.
Karen, what have you been up to today? —————————————————————
Liz, we crossposted. I hope that cold goes quickly. Yay for finishing shopping and getting the tree up. Take care of yourself in the cold and snow. We are in the 50s and rainy today. By tomorrow we will be back in the 30s and may get some flurries. Your DS and DBIL are sweet to put out the decorations SM wanted. They have a forgiving spirit. Good for Gary keeping you off the step ladder. Wonder what was up with Wally. You had better get out on time. You need that PT. Iggy finally got his flu shot last week, TG.

Becky, I've seen some pretty creative things that people with cats do to keep their cats away from the tree. But space can definitely be an issue. I'll bet people who live in those "tiny" houses don't decorate much if at all. Fake poinsettia is a good idea for the cats, but it takes such special care to keep a reall one alive from year to year that I didn't even get one this year. My Christmas cactus is doing quite well. Arya, fortunately, pays no attention to plants. When do you have PT this week?
Where is FSU going bowling, Kathy? Tennessee is going to the Taxslayer Gator Bowl in Jacksonville playing Indiana. Manhattan is a nice place to visit, but I don't think living there would be fun. I guess I'm just a small town girl. When will you get your shopping finished?
Chele, hope you succeeded in making your house festive. Have you seen the new Zombieland film that's out? We already have it requested in Netflix as soon as it's available. We have the first one on DVD and have probably seen it at least a hundred times. We were up on our previous schedule this morning because Dale had an early hair cut appointment and had some things he needed to get done before he left. So we got up early and I got quite a lot done. My kitchen looks squeaky clean. We have fresh furniture covers on the couch and chair, and all my Christmas cards are ready to go to the PO tomorrow. Dale took the Christmas packages to the PO this morning. We're having off and on rain today as well. Tomorrow's rain is supposed to be heavier and changing to snow in the p.m. as the temperatures drop. Are you expecting snow tomorrow as well?
Sending good karma for a tolerable week, Liz. Glad you got some rest and healing this past weekend. Fingers crossed you'll make PT this evening. Whassup with your boy? I hope, with the frequent wee-weeing, that he hasn't developed a UTI. The tofu was good. I marinated it with a can of Rotel Fire-Roasted tomatoes and then added some garlic powder, cumin, and smoked chipotle. I have enough to last the week. Good plan for Gary to keep you off step stools and the like, at least for a while. I hope you can stay well as you heal from your physical issues, given all the germs at work. They say flu season came early here as well. Congrats on getting your shopping finished.
Linda, is this an art class day? Do you have Christmas parties coming up? Does the museum do anything special? Will Questers meet this month? Nice shopping trip. You got a lot done.
Dale just returned from the pool, so I guess it's my turn to get ready to work out. Later, Chicks!!

Micki likes to go out and sniff endlessly at night! Because I let him out when I wake at night when it might rain when he gets the am walk, he now thinks we go out every time I wake up...more these days with age and sinus nose issues. He also thinks we should go out every hour while watching tv...might be treat scamming because he gets when for obeying “come”
Cheke, when the sinus thing clears it is great, yes?
Liz, hope you can continue to keep a low profile at work. Ever figure out the bad vibe source there?
Cats and trees...,had one when I was ten, Dad put the tree into an alcove and wired it to the wall! The next year he added the disassembled wooden playpen to the front to keep out my toddler little brother who wanted to eat ornaments and bubble lights!
art today...The painting is ambitious. It is the view through opened French doors out onto the plaza in front of the Munich opera house. It is neoclassical architecture with statues in front. just outside are umbrella tables with patrons. I took it from our table inside the restaurant. Lots of planes, angles, straight hard edges.. Got a basic start but the dark green doors are too bright and took over..have to gray them down.

Linda, LOL on Micki thinking he needs to go out every time you wake up. It's a little different here. Arya thinks she needs to go out every time SHE wakes up. And she is really good at napping. I think she figured out quickly that the every hour thing wasn't going to fly here. Treat scamming is a good theory. I'm anxious to see your completed painting. That sounds amazing. You do well with challenges, so I know it will be worth the wait.
From what I've hear, Chele, Zombieland Double Tap is supposed to be as good as the original. I hope that will be the case. We know how it can be with sequels.

Thanks for the start Karen.
Liz I'm glad you were able to hide over the weekend.I hope you are feeling better.I hope you get off early enough for PT.I feel some relief I guess. There does seem to be one therapist that helps more than the other.I called the PT center today and she isn't available this week so I will stick to the same one for Wed and Fri and then switch over to the one I like better next week.
Chele LOL on Iggy wanting to know what got into you since you were busy working away.I am glad you are feeling better.Marcey can jump so high with her long legs and although I doubt she could get to the top of a large tree she would have it on the floor. She is a very acrobatic cat.We laugh at her jumping up to places we didn't think was possible.I have not heard of Esther Price candy so you know I don't get out much with the sweets.LOL.My mom's Nativity scene was with everyone in it's place but it's so old and frail I don't put it up anymore.I'm glad Iggy finally got his flu shot. Some of my friends on FB calls the one we got as the old lady flu shot.
Karen I can't imagine living in one of those tiny houses. Our mobile home is a good size for a single wide but we don't use all the rooms especially the master bedroom because Marcey has found a scuttle hole to get out of the house in there.I go Wed and Friday this week since I want to WI at WW on Thursday.Next week I go Monday and Wednesday so I can get the therapist(I didn't know there were 2 other therapists but they think the one with the dark hair is the one who helped me more).
It got up to 83 today.Tomorrow there is a 100% chance of rain but probably still won't get over 1/2".It will be a cold(for us),windy and rainy day.The temps are supposed to drop 40 degrees and stay in the feel like temps of 30's although it should get in the 40's.If it's too bad we will just stay home tomorrow. We broke a record high since sometime in the 1800's.No wonder head and knee is acting up.

The green dot under Tempe is us...got hit by the red from both sides and have only seen that much water in such a short time two other times in 30 years. Back yard filled with water away from house but one side was water house to block wall...not deep enough for trouble. Lot of hail.

Liz, we can call ahead or go to the website for jury duty, so at least we don't have to sit there unless our number is called. I'm not surprised that you're tired out with the commute and long days. Is there any chance for to work some days from home? That would help a lot. DM is doing fine and is very busy with Christmas shopping and decorating. She has a 4 ft tree that she puts on an end table. The way that room is, the sofa is pretty close to the table. So, she tells me that the past few years since she's had that tree, she's been climbing over the sofa arm to get behind the tree and put the tree skirt on! Ack!! She was insisting that she could do it, but I'm hoping I convinced her to wait for me and DS to help. I haven't heard many sick people in the stores so far. We've warmed back up to 85, so that's probably part of it. Hope you're not catching a cold. Take care.
Chele, wow, you got a lot done. It is amazing when the sinuses finally clear up. I like your nativity tradition. I don't remember doing anything like that, but I do remember the church waiting to put Baby Jesus in the manger in their nativity scene. I agree on there being benefits to living in a smaller place. I'm still on the outskirts of development, but they keep trying to bring in some huge developments around here. So far, they've been defeated. One of them would extend the road that dead ends at my neighborhood. It would go over the Little Econ river which is considered an environmentally sensitive area and bring a whole lot more traffic to the area. They decided for now that the roads can't handle it.
Karen, FSU is going to the Sun Bowl in El Paso against Arizona State. It's on Dec. 31, so not a bad bowl considering a 6-6 season. I see that Norvell has named Odell Haggins as Associate Head Coach which I think is a smart move. I like what I'm hearing from him so far. I also heard that USF has hired one of Clemson's assistant coaches. I guess you could do a lot of decorating with lights in a tiny house and maybe have a tiny tree. I'm planning on doing some online shopping tomorrow and then DM and I are going out again on Wednesday. I still don't have lists for some people, so won't be done anytime soon. Hopefully, I'll be done by the 24th!
Linda, that's a wonderful subject for your painting. It does look challenging, but I'm sure you'll do a great job. I look forward to seeing it. Yikes on that weather map!
Becky, we warmed up to 85 today. It's too hot for this time of year! We're supposed to get another cool down soon, but not as drastic as yours. I'm glad you're getting a little relief from the PT and hope you can schedule more appointments with the one you liked better.
