Good morning. Happy Monday.
This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Feel free to jump in and join us. All are welcome here.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Good morning everyone.
Andi how was the show? Did you get your grocery shopping done?
Janet I hope your knee is feeling better. I second what RobinMD said about the compression sleeve for your knee. I wear one on my knee from time to time.
Susie we did not have any plans for the weekend nights this past weekend. It was nice to get in our PJs and just veg in front of the TV with absolutely nothing to do and no one to entertain.
I started tracking yesterday and I did great until DH and I got into a disagreement over the whole house hunting thing. I stopped at Aldis just to look around and ended up with 2 large bags of candy and then I took pizza home for dinner. I didn't do so great for dinner. I did eat some of the candy but I didn't do as badly as I could have done. My weight is up 20 lbs so I need to get my stress eating and emotional eating under control because I don't think the stress and emotions are going anywhere for awhile. I did a little bit of food prep yesterday to help out this week but I didn't do enough so I need to try to do some more tonight.
I have counseling today at 1 p.m. I had planned on coming back to work afterwards because it really close to my office but I think I will go by my parent's apartment instead and try to pack more of their kitchen things up and drop them off at Good Will on the way home. I have been able to sell a couple of items. My dad is so dramatic about the cost of things. I told him I was selling his microwave for $15 - it isn't a very large one and it is used. You can buy a new microwave really cheap now. He told me that he had to borrow $ from the bank to purchase that microwave because it was so expensive. Ummm no you didn't. I understand that he and my mom worked hard for the things they had - but I don't have room to keep it all. But my dad has always exaggerated on the "price" he paid for things.

Hi Jana and everyone else -
Now that traveling and family stuff is done for the time being, I'm hoping to be back on here regularly.
I am sure I've missed a lot but I'm looking forward to catching up with everyone.
Last week was just rough. So Monday, we drove back from Disney - about 10.5 hours or so in the car for me (after sleeping for about 4 hours). Came back to work on Tuesday pretty tired - and found out that my uncle on my mom's side passed. Then Wednesday my great aunt on my dad's side passed. On Wednesday, my brother and his family were beginning their journey to China to bring back my niece. so I'm also checking on things for them while they're away. So I decided on Thursday that I would take off Friday - drive to my friend's place in Colonial Heights - so I'd have a short-ish drive to VA Beach for the 10 am funeral Saturday.
I start Friday with laundry. When the first load wasn't done in the washer, I was confused. Found water in my bathroom - went around the corner and there was a TON of water in the back room. Basically the washer never realized it was full of water and it had been filling for like 45 minutes. I had at least 1 inch of water throughout - some areas a bit more. So I spent most of Friday cleaning up water/moving out ruined cardboard boxes, etc. Luckily, nothing really got damaged. They got a new washer/dryer in for me around 4 pm on Friday and I was able to do some laundry, but I decided to just drive to Va Beach in the morning.
So I woke up at 3:30 am Saturday to drive out. Got there about 15 minutes before the funeral. After everything was done, I had lunch and drove to my friend's place in Colonial Heights. They just left a key for me so I relaxed in bed for a few hours and then went to sleep. Sunday, I visited with them before going to my great aunt's visitation. Then I got on the road and got home around 7 pm last night.
I'm just tired. I think something interesting happened this weekend though - like seeing my cousins who are in their 50s and 60s who I thought were the major grown ups when I was a kid (realistically, they were in their 20s). Also coming to realize that I am really one of the grown ups now in terms of the family stuff. I don't know if it's making sense. It's just weird when you can say to a relative, "yeah I haven't seen you in 25 years" - and you remember that last time.
Anyway - still dealing with some other life stuff which I won't bore you with. I'm hoping to meet my niece on December 22 - all depends on travel plans and making sure she isn't overwhelmed. :-)

Hello friends.
Grey, cold and gloomy here again today. I think we're supposed to have rain moving in tonight and to continue tomorrow. I'm still not doing much because of my shoulder, but it does seem to be improving but very, very slowly. But that's the way these kinds of conditions normally act, I think. If I could take the NSAIDs without killing my stomach, or withstand the steroid shot, it was be much easier.
Mark and I are talking about maybe going to Orlando for a few days at New Year's. We'd go to the Citrus Bowl football game while there. We haven't done a football trip or anything close to a vacation in a very long time. Several years, actually.
I've got some pork in the IP. It's frozen solid, so the IP was the only way to go. Haha. I'm going to use the broth to make some gravy and serve it over some keto waffles, I think.
No real news from here. The main thing I'm looking forward to at the moment is getting this shoulder thing cleared up. I wake up in the morning feeling pretty good, but by early afternoon the pain is making itself known. So just hoping that if I continue to take it easy, it will continue to slowly get a tiny bit better each day.
Waving to everyone and hope you've all had a good start to your week.

I had a really good day eating-wise yesterday. Today has been too busy as usual. I skipped the gym and went to neuro-fit with DH, stopped to see my DSister, went to Costco to pick up our Christmas photo cards (and a bottle of wine I have to take for a wine gift exchange tonight at book club).
You know, I started typing all this stuff about picking up DGS sick from school and thought, "This is just too involved," and deleted it. I am going to be picked up in an hour so I am just going to go lie down for a few minutes with the book that I have not finished (that we are supposed to discuss tonight).
Waving to Amanda - good to see you... and everyone else....
